Good, quick, and friendly. Having just move to town, I had to find my Chinese restaurant. I love a good hole in the wall and Eddie's nails it. I've been there three times in eight days, so good! So my husband found some great reviews of this place and we decided to check it out. We ordered ahead. This was my first visit to the location. The appearance of the place was not the best but it's a typical hole in the wall Chinese restautant. They were busy when I got there which was a good sign. The cashier lady was very polite and asked if we were ready to order. I advised we ordered ahead and should be ready. She went to check and said she found it but it would be ready soon. I went to sit down. Half hour sitting people all around got their food and walked out. A lady beside me who was there before me was visibly upset, she too had order and she was waiting for over 40 minutes. She asked, So you order ahead and when you tell them your name that's when they start the order?? I shrugged as I didn't know, first timers. Finally got my food. When I got home - was a bit disappointed. The food was ok. Nothing notable. The Mongolian beef was plain. The General Tsos chicken was actually decent nice spicy kick and not so sweet like most. The only thing was it tasted old, as if it was out for sometime. We also got crab rangoons, no picture. They give you 10 whole most places give you 6 - kid was excited but when she got it she said no filing just breading. Egg rolls were good and not too greasy. I got there early waiting for them to open up at 11 AM. Well, I simply left at quarter after when still nobody was there. I called about a half an hour later and they said they were open. I ordered the gold coin chicken and while it was vaguely described to me, when I showed up, it was absolutely nothing like the Internet said it should be. Such a huge disappointment. Ordered my food since 8:30am to be ready by 12pm. My coworker ordered hers at 11:20pm to be ready by 12pm. Hers was ready when I got there but mine wasn't. I got there around 12:05pm so they both should've been ready. There's no excuse because it was ordered 3 and 1/3 hours before the order time. Why was it made after? I've ordered from here dozens of times. It's the best Chinese I"ve found in Winter Haven area however the food is just ok. It's always hot but not so fresh. Almost everything they make is precooked rewarmed food. I love General TSO chicken but when I get it from Eddie's it's a mushy mess with no firmness to the batter on the chicken. Same can be said for the sweet and sour chicken / pork and various other items I've tried off the menu. They decided to do everything but pork and put shrimp instead! My husband is deathly allergic to shrimp! My order was delivered and when I called about the situation they said I was wrong! Wow has this place gone downhill. We ordered beef with mixed vegetables, sesame chicken and wonton soup. Sesame chicken was fine but the beef with mixed vegetables was fairly awful, chewy undercooked beef. The soup had zero wontons? It was just some noodles in beef broth. I took the time to return the soup the next day, a middle aged Asian man insisted he took my order and that's what I ordered. When he finally sent out the lady that actually took my order, she was nice enough and said they would refund my money. If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered $60 worth of food for delivery. They forgot 2 meals worth of food. I asked if they could redeliver the food, but also if I could get my money back on those two meals since I had to wait about an hour for the food then I was going to have to wait another 30 mins for my food to be cooked and be redelivered. The girl I spoke to said yes. I wait 40 mins and call back. I speak to an Asian woman who was BEYOND rude and told me it wasn't their fault that my two meals weren't delivered. She told me that she refunded the $19 worth of meals forgotten and if I wanted them to deliver it again I'd have to repay for it. Why on earth should I have to pay for my meal again plus a gas fee and another tip for the businesses mistake?! I tried explaining my side how that made no sense because it was THEIR error. She proceeds to start yelling and screaming at me. I've come here since I was a little girl. I've also been in the food industry for over 13 years and have NEVER spoken to a paying customer like that. I have no problem paying for a meal but when I order delivery and YOU as a business mess that up and I only have food for half my family while the other half is sitting there not eating because they don't have food because YOU "forgot" it then do what any good business would do and fix it. After an hour, we called back and we were told that he just left and they are busy because of the HOLIDAY. What holiday? A Google search shows that today is Homemade Bread Day! They must be busy! The place is 5 minutes away, so we waited. Another 30 minutes goes by. The guy calls. He is lost. Our street has about 5 apartments on it. It's not tough. It took over an hour and a half to get our food. So, we finally get the food. It's warm at best. The crab rangoon and lo mein were ok. I got chicken chow mein, which I always get no matter where I go. This was the most bland pile of food I have ever had. The eggrolls were mush and bland. When you order a specific item, in this case, Sweet and sour pork, and you arrive after the 45 minute wait then wait ten more minutes and they tell you they sold out of pork and substitute chicken then it's not sweet and sour pork. And if you accept the chicken because waiting another half hour or so was not going to work since I had over an hour into it and then get home to find the chicken dried out as if it had been fried or refried at least three times then you have the right to be disappointed. I forgave them for this and threw away a bunch of dried out fried hard chicken and committed that it was a bad day and agreed to try again as I have enjoyed hundreds of dollars worth of their food as I order ever other week or so and have for years. Here's the problem, I came back and ordered my usual Sweet and Sour pork, arrived 30 minutes after I ordered per the ordering website and then waited for another 20 minutes to be told the same thing, "WE just sold out of pork and we will give you chicken instead". NO Keep that dried out chicken, adjust your menu, call your customer that you have now inconvenienced twice now and actually lied about "Just" running out and save them the disappointment of the wrong food. I understand running out and would rather try next time as I did here. YOU LIED TO ME, YOU SERVED ME OLD HARD STALE CHICKEN and tried the same scam for a second time. If you are willing to lie about being out of something and not call the customer back, what are you hiding behind that plastic shield in that kitchen. YOU RUINED my second attempt after I forgave you for the crap you pulled the previous time. ANYBODY can make a mistake but outright deception is a reason to shut down your game and time for you to move on to another career. I order from Eddies all the time. Their online website is great for quick ordering and delivery is way faster than they ever tell you. I love the Moo Goo Gai Pan and Won Ton Soup. The eggrolls and cheese rangoons are pretty awesome. I have never had a bad experience nor bad food. I love chinese food and it can be hard to find a good priced and quality food. Eddie's is our GO TO for Chinese food in our town. We used to go to the China Wok right by Walmart on Cypress, but we got sick one night from it... so ever since then, Eddie's is our first choice. Just had a meal delivered from Eddie's tonight for the first time. Ordered online at 6pm, was delivered shortly after 7. Was fine with delivery time and anxious to try the food. Unfortunately everything ordered was a disappointment. Sweet and sour chicken: batter fried chicken was over cooked and most pieces I couldn't even chew. There was no green peppers, pineapple or carrots with it. Lost me right there. Shrimp fried rice tasted OK but was a yellow color rice. Every fried rice I have ever had was white and had bits of scrambled egg in it. This had the peas, carrots and onions though. Egg rolls: also fried to long and wasn't able to chew them very well. They were more chewy than crisp like they should be. Crab Rangoon: extremely dry. Had to just dip the bottoms in and bite them off and discard the edges. The portions were good size, but when it's bad food that really isn't a plus. We won't be ordering here again and unfortunately they appear to be the only ones that deliver. read more

I hate to write bad reviews but it was because of Yelps good reviews I tried this place tonight. We had a family gathering and ordered almost 60.00 worth of food. It took 55 minutes to cook but we didn't gripe cause it was a rather big order. However, the portions are much smaller than other takeouts. The rice is mushy and tasteless. They messed up our order and gave us the wrong chicken and house rice instead of house lo-mein. Not sure why because it was all written down. I ordered shrimp & lobster sauce and it was like water. Little flavor with little egg and veggies. The shrimp was not the juicy jumbo shrimp I'm used to but taste more like prawn. The only thing my entire family enjoyed was the egg rolls. Worst take out ever! Stay away! They up charge with over the phone calls. They have horrible phone Etiquette. Put me on hold while telling driver that he forgot to take payment on last two orders and needed him to go back to homes to get payment. When asked for my order I had to give address then they asked where I lived? Like why do you need to know where I live when I just gave you my address. I repeated my order 3 times because girl on phone wasn't paying attention and talking to workers and children in the background. Once my 10 minute order was over I was going to pay she wouldn't take my payment over the phone till driver showed up and wanted to see my ID and debit card. After this annoying phone call I canceled my order all together. Price online to order for delivery was $20 but when I called on the phone for delivery was $30. Reason I called in was because yelp online order doesn't give you a online payment option. Horrible experience. The don't even deserve a 1 star rating. read more

We've ordered from Eddy's for about two years. We always do delivery & the wait time used to be 30-40 mins max. The last four times we've ordered, not only did we not receive an eta, but we waited over an hour for our food & each time when asking the driver why it took so long he had no valid reason. The food always seems to be room temp which makes me wonder if it's sitting before it's delivered. The crab ragoons are progressively becoming more dry each time we order but the sweet & sour sauce helps. Over all, I'd recommend this restaurant, but I'd recommend dine-in until something is changed with their delivery wait time. read more
