Very disappointed after reading the reviews. I wanted some Mexican for Cinco de Mayo and trusted Yelp since I was driving through town. I got the small combo plate with a chili verde burrito. The beans and rice were on par with most places, but the burrito was very dry - no liquid in it of any kind! Probably the driest, least palatable burrito I've had in years.... went away disappointed. Nobody but caucasians in this place ( I am too ) and now I know why. read more

Delicious! I had heard all about Eddie's Cocina from friends and family but finally got to try it for myself yesterday. The food was delicious and the service was friendly! I ordered the camarones al mojo de ajo and it were excellent! I will be back! read more

Yikes. I think I just had the worst burrito I have ever purchased at an actual Mexican restaurant. While the staff was friendly, that did nothing to save the disaster that awaited me in my to go bag. The carnitas "super" burrito I ordered went something like this: 1) Tortilla that was dry as hell 2) Carnitas that was so dry I literally opened the burrito up because I was concerned that what I was eating was not carnitas at all... 3) The "super" part of the burrito, which usually means everything (guacamole, cheese, sour cream,) was "super" hard to find. Only scant (i'm not exaggerating) evidence of their existence could be established 4) The tomatoes that were included in the burrito had a vague banana-like flavor, which made me wonder if they somehow stored their tomatoes next to the fruit for their agua frescas...strange, but true. 5) For almost $9, I had to laugh at the minuscule proportions of the burrito. While I am not a competitive eater, nor do I expect my burritos to come out on a flatbed truck, I would expect a decent sized burrito for that price point. 6) I didn't bother finishing the burrito. Why would I? I hate to be harsh, but the fact that Eddie's Cocina would let product leave their restaurant like that warrants a decent scolding, and says more about them than me. Competition in this town for Mexican food is stiff, so Eddie's seriously needs to up their game. read more

One of the best veggie burritos I've had. I get it with beans, cheese, sour cream and guacamole and make it wet. The beans are very good tasting and all the flavors just come together really well. The atmosphere is not great, so it's more of a "to go" type of place. But the staff is friendly and the food is great. read more

This restaurant came highly recommended from a co-worker. I had the flautas, and I thought they were great. The cabbage salsa that comes with the chips and salsa is phenomenal. I order extra whenever I get Eddie's for pick up. Eddie is sweet and has a great attitude. The only reason I removed one star, is that I am from Southern California, and we are used to spicy mexican food. My mom ordered the enchiladas and said they were very bland. That being said, I have been back twice already since my first visit. I love supporting a tasty local business over a poor quality flavorless fast food chain! read more

It was underwhelming, and over all deserves a three star. Now the high point was absolutely the service. Fast friendly and happy to replenish the chips and salsa. Which was the other high point, fresh chips and a unique cabbage jalapeño pico paired with a nice red salsa. I have never seen a chili relleno burrito so it was a fun to try out something new, but being wrapped up and smothered in beans you loose the nice texture of the outside. So main dishes were defiantly average. Also tried the margaritas... Sad to say what I drank was not a margarita. Tasted like a bad canned drink poured over ice. Eddie's Cocina has the best Mexican food I think I have ever eaten. I was a little reluctant to try it at first being that I saw two reviews that were not very good, but let me tell you I am very happy that I tried them. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The food didn't take long to come and it was hot and fresh. The rice was outstanding. I am vegitarian so this place was right up my alley. Fresh rice -no chicken broth..Beans - no lard.. Fresh homemade chips that are made fresh everyday. The salsa was perfect.. not too spicey but definately homemade...a great cabbage salsa that is like a pico de gallo..so fresh and good. This Joshua J. and Angelina M. are total morans for writing those lame reviews. They do not know great food. My partner tried the carnitas and he said they were excellent. Fresh, full of flavor, and the best he's ever had. We will be back for more!! read more

Note to Joshua, You wear your condescension well. Please continue to eat in Sonoma Co., that way you won't be eating where I do. Hiding prejudice behind words like "stoner" and "vineyard workers" accents the chip on your shoulder. This restaurant is owned and operated by hard working people. They put out good food at a good price with a friendly hello and a smile. They also contribute to the community. Me, I'm going down to get some taquitos. Eddie's here I come. Great authentic food! I have traveled to this area for the last 3 years and I eat out A LOT, needless to say this place is small with a nice selection of flavorful food. Nothing in town comes close to the quality and flavor. Well done Eddie!!!! read more

The shrimp Diabla plate was delicious . Service was wonderful and food was timely. Will try their margarita next time but it must be made without tequila bc do t believe they have hard liquor license . Only beer - no wines best I could tell. Salsa and cabbage salad served with chips is good. This is a nice cozy restaurant and will be going to more often . They had tamales on special! Mom had a crispy taco and liked it too! The main thing I dislike about Yelp is that when an honest merchant is tag- teamed by negative reviews like 2 of those previous there is no recourse. My wife and I have eaten at Eddie's Cocina many times and have had no such problems. Eddie's is not fancy but it is not meant to be. It is a small well kept restaurant which serves excellent regional Mexican cuisine. You will not find a better chili relleno or huevos ranchero anywhere. The service is always friendly and efficient and the food is always hot and tasty. This is all I ask of a restaurant anyplace or anytime. read more

My family was passing through Ukiah on vacation and stopped for dinner. We are Mexican food snobs and were very pleased with this unassuming quaint restaurant. All food was prepared fast and fresh. The cabbage salsa was a great change from the usual tomato based salsas. My only complaint is that we probably will never be able to visit again because we live so far away. read more

I stopped in on a whim one afternoon, looking for a quiet spot to eat a late lunch. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, not the most imaginative but comfort food. It was great - not swimming increase, plenty of chicken, fresh guacamole and cilantro. Definitely will go back and try the carnitas. read more

There's a number of Mexican restaurants in Ukiah but I choose this one for these reasons: 1)best cabbage salsa on the planet 2)veggie tostada - the lettuce is fresh and green....not iceberg...and it's very filling - and they don't use lard 3)the service is friendly, efficient, and consistent . Good food and lots of it. Got the nachos with a vegetarian burrito. The nachos were huge and the burrito weighed more than a pound. Huge. I could barely eat half. Tasted good. Hostess is very nice and the atmosphere was good. It was fairly busy. Will go again. I had lots of nachos and most of the burrito left over for another full meal. I did not realize it was so large when I ordered lol. read more

I don't understand how this place ends up with such good ratings. This is not very good Mexican. I hang out with a lot of Mexican people and eat a lot of Mexican food and I'm here to tell you that this is more Americanized Mexican food than I can take. Not only is it not authentic but is seriously over priced. $3.95 for a taco ! Yes that's for ONE taco ! About $11.00 for one item with rice and beans ! The rice is very bland, one bite was enough. The salsa tasted like a can of tomatoes, no flavor. It's a serious disappointment. read more
