I love the idea of a drive-in. Eddie's is trying to make it work. Cool 50s tunes being played, typical drive-in setting. Girls on roller skates.....sometimes not so successful but fun to watch. Our server was a nice young lady who was kind and helpful. Our food took forever to arrive despite there only being a few cars to wait on. Good only knows what took so long since it was only a burger, hot dog, onion rings and some Root Beers. The hot dog - dreadful. Dried up meat dog, stale bun - just horrible. The hamburger? The hugest mess I've ever seen. It was overcooked to the max, but it was nice and juicy with 10 tons of Ernie sauce on it - which is horrible, but the way. The whole thing was a mess and tasted terrible. We won't be back. Too bad. Some decent food would make the experience more worthy. Hot Dogs and Burgers just can be that difficult. read more

A fun place to go to! Our vintage bike group meets here every Friday and the food is great. Girls on roller skates with food takes us back to the good old days. Don't like what you ordered---tell them and they make it right. We sat in the back last year and watched the Blue Angels put on their air show at Selfridge--right over our heads! Ya come to Eddies for the experience. The food is not horrible, but far from fine cuisine. The girls on roller skates, the classic cars, the whole lost drive-in and eat experience is pretty cool. Plus it brings people from all over Metro Detroit to my humble small town of Harrison Township. I have come to Eddies for many years, and if it was horrible, this place would have perished a long time ago. I will fill you in on what I ate last Saturday. My meal was the chicken pita. The chicken was nicely grilled, a real piece of chicken breast and must have been marinated because it was quite tasty. The pita bread was soft, and a little crisp on the outside just like I like. Instead of fries, I actually like the Pepper Jack Cheese Sticks. They are different than your average cheese sticks, not only because of the cheese, but because of the shape and texture. They are rectangular in shape and only about 2 inches long, bite size. I do quite like them. Root Beer to drink. All served by a friendly waitress. We saw a few classic cars too, on a Saturday afternoon. Come here in the evenings on the weekends and you will feel like you are at a car show. Keep it up, Eddies! An East Side mainstay :) read more

We had horrendous service at Eddie's this evening. We have never experienced this before - normally it's a nice little drive-in and fun to visit in our classic car - so we were surprised to say the least. Our order was taken at the picnic table by an obviously new waitress. We ordered two foot longs (one with everything and one with mustard only), one curly fry, and a large root beer with no ice. Seems simple enough. Apparently it wasn't. The gal delivered our order about 10 minutes later - two foot longs (both plain and obviously overcooked), one curly fry (undercooked to the point of being almost raw), and two packets of ketchup. That's it. (No drink, no napkins, no straw, no mustard.) We asked about the drink, and when she brought it (with ice, not without as we ordered), we told her that the dogs were incorrect. One of them was supposed to have everything on it (chili and onions). She took the tray back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, she returned - this time with BOTH dogs having everything, plus a new order of fries. My husband took one of the dogs, but when I refused the other, the older waitress got hostile, almost expecting me to still take it. I stood my ground and maintained that I cannot eat onions and chili. When she started to take it away, the guest at the table next to us bought it from her (since he'd been waiting awhile for his order too). Ten minutes later, the new waitress returned with two more dogs (not just one) - one was my correctly-prepared dog with mustard only. The other was with everything - even though my husband was already eating his. She left it for us anyway, and it was only after we looked inside the wrapper that we realized she GAVE US A DOG WITH A BITE ALREADY TAKEN OUT OF IT! (Was she sending us some sort of subliminal message?) When we finished eating, my husband brought the half-eaten dog back to the window, and was told it must have been someone else's order! There was no shock, no apology, NOTHING. We departed extremely dissatisfied. We never had these problems with the previous owner, but since he passed away and the place was sold, things must have changed a great deal. Too bad, because it used to be such a nice place. Postscript: The owner has apologized profusely on their Facebook page and offered us a free meal in an attempt at reconciliation. read more

Very good food, fast service, and servers who are always cheerful. and it's just down the road from my apartment. My favorite dishes are the breaded mushrooms, triple burger, chili cheese fries, and the always-incredible mocha shake. Been eating here nearly 30 years. Tonight I took the Grandkids and it was very disappointing. Service bad, waitress forgot part of order. Told her no problem just get it. She never came back. Flagged another waitress after 15 mins and told her the story. She apologized and said she would get me the Big Ed Burger the first girl forgot. Another 10 minutes go by and she comes out with the burger. I pay her and finally start my meal. Another surprise was waiting though. The hamburger was the size of a kids meal burger and nearly 2 inches smaller than the bun. I ate it and left very disappointed with this place. I just moved into a house a mike down the road from Eddie's so I decided to try them out. I've heard it's a must go to place in Harrison Township. The service was really friendly and pretty fast. I ordered the Slim Eddie and a corn dog kids meal for my daughter. The sandwich was yummy and tasted fresh. The kids meal looked good and fresh too. I liked that it came with fruit snacks. My daughter loves those and I wasn't expecting it. Overall I paid $12 for my sandwich, a drink, a kids meal, and a side of curly fries so not a bad price for what you get. I'll definitely come back. I'm eager to try other menu items and it's only a walk away from my house so I see many trips here this summer. read more

The parking lot here looks like it was just re-done! Brand spanking new! My grandfather owned part of this place back in the 1950's. The owner and management here know what they're doing. Awesome 50s era music playing outside all with the girl on rollerskates and tray on your car window makes the whole experience travel you back in time! Thought about giving this five stars but the other reviewers are correct in their assessment that this isn't the best food you've ever had, even for its class. The fact that you can get a chocolate soda here (rare) or the fact that I once had a smelt basket here that was pretty damn good make me want to give it five stars but the truth is if it wasn't a drive-in out by the lake it wouldn't warrant such high praise. You've got to be in the right mood to come here, but if you are and the weather's nice, you should really enjoy yourself. read more

We love this place not just for the nostalgia but the great diner food. Been going to this place for a lot of years after a day on lake St. Clair. They always have 50's music on Sirius/XM. We tune it in on our radio too. If you are lucky enough to own a classic car this is the place to show it off. Don't forget to take some fun photo's! It's mostly about the retro fun so don't expect super fast service. Have patience because the girls do their best on the roller skates! A lot of times the crowd can overburden the amount of servers. I've been coming here since I was a child so I'm a little biased, but this place truly is a gem. The food isn't gourmet or anything, but it's really good fare and there's a great selection. I love that the curly fries aren't seasoned and the banana splits are heavenly. The service is truly outstanding. The waitresses are totally badass. Even in my heyday of roller skating, I could never serve food on skates. They're super efficient and polite. One of my very favorite things about this place, is when the classic cars roll in. My wife and I have frequented Eddie's in the past, usually once a week, and thought the food was good, and the service is usually pretty good. But, we stopped in a couple of weeks ago, pulled into one of the slots, waited for at least fifteen minutes. The car hop, an older blonde woman, serviced the car next to us, I would think she noticed us sitting there since she had to go between the other car and mine. We waited another five minutes or so. Another car just pulled in, and she waited on them, and not us. We waited a couple more minutes, and still no one waited on us. With this type of service, I don't think I will ever be going back. read more

I love the idea of what Eddie's was meant to be. Sadly they fall very short on most levels, notably the way they treat their customers. We decided to take a cruise down Jefferson and grab a bite to eat, and have an enjoyable evening. No such thing to be had at Eddie's. Sure they have mediocre food sloppy greasy burgers and semi-limp fries, but the disappointment was the service and the attitude. If you have a show car and you park under the canopy you will be asked to leave if you get out of your car.. Seriously! I've never been to a restaurant where I've been asked to leave for having to use the bathroom, even if it is a porta-potty in the parking lot. Amazing they drive away the the type of customer they try to attract. Sorry, but never again! read more

My cousin and I were very disappointed with our experience here I came here to have a late lunch and after parking here and ordering, 10 minutes later my cousin unexpectedly pulled in a few spaces away from me. He also ordered and when he got through, he came to my car and we agreed that we'd dine together. He even pulled out from under the canopy spot and parked on the perimeter of the lot to be courteous. He got in my vehicle and we began to eat. Not 5 minutes later, Who I think must've been the manager came out and told him he couldn't leave his vehicle unattended. We tried explaining that we came in separate and decided to join up together, but she wasn't having it. We left the drive in parking lot and decided to eat our lunch somewhere else, in a parking lot down the street. I know that they are a little tight on space these days, but we were both paying customers that would have been able to stay there if we stayed in our own vehicles. We would have been done in 15 minutes anyway. I just think this was poor customer service. read more

Great little drive-in not far from the water, a fee classic cars parked. Tasty root beer floats, they use soft serve in them. DELICIOUS, fresh and crispy corn dog...you must get one!! We had some burgers, which hit the spot, my hubby had the Big Ed 1/2 lb. burger and once i saw it had special sauce on it I really wanted one! My 1/4 lb. burger was good, and we shared seasoned curly fries which you can never go wrong with those. Service was awesome, nice little spot to stop at in the summer.
