Aesthetic: New Orleans themed restaurant with amazing breakfast anytime options. My favorite: The parmesan grits! Experience: We had a very relaxed brunch here, and we loved what we ordered. Our waitress was kind. I made a "Create your own" omelette with cheddar, red beans, and creole sauce, and it was incredible. The side of parmesan grits and croissant made it even more amazing! My husband ordered the corned beef hash and enjoyed his as well. However, we both agreed, we have to come back for those grits. They're elite! Great place to eat with the family with a nice variety of options. Breakfast lunch and dinner options. We were greeted soon as we made it to the door. Our server was very tentative to our needs and the service was exceptional. For myself I ordered the build your own burger with a side of fries. It was good. My parents both ordered pasta and enjoyed it. My daughter demolished her kids burger and fries. My other children wanted the chicken tender with a side of fries. They enjoyed them. Everything was absolutely amazing! The sangria was fresh and perfect for a morning drink. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The only thing I would recommend is warm syrup. I also had the grits skillet which was essentially an eggs benedict with cheesy grits and it was delicious. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the wait was reasonable they told us 45 minutes to an hour but it only took 20 minutes max. It's cozy on the inside the large enough to take family group. If you're looking for a local hidden gem with a great variety of food & down home genuine service- Eddie's place is for you. This place is truly hidden in a small plaza (plenty of parking). First time here and I can't wait to come back. Stopped in for Sunday brunch- be prepared to wait unless you get there early or get lucky like we did and belly up to the bar. Bartenders were attentive and very helpful deciding on what to get. Nestled between 2 regulars- they were very friendly/helpful as well. I wish I lived closer to the area, Eddies would make a fabulous go to neighborhood bar. We ordered the creamy cajun pasta with blackened chicken & the shrimp and grits. Holy smokes was the pasta delicious! I'm not sure if it was the sauce, sausage, blackened chicken or the complete combo but an absolute must! The shrimp and grits were tasty as well, but I wish the shrimp weren't so small. The bread that comes with the dishes is pretty special as well. 10/10 recommend dipping them in the entree sauces. They have daily food & drink specials that the regulars rave about. I definitely plan on coming back. Pro tip- get a side salad and try their homemade habanero ranch. Soooo good! read more

A friend suggested this place and it was a good time. The food is plentiful and the servers are like your friends. The value for the money is fantastic!! It was such a pleasure to eat somewhere without breaking the bank. I've gone two times and had a great experience both times. It's very busy, though. We had to wait at least 15 minutes each time, but it was worth it. I've had the waffle, hash browns, pancakes, turkey sausage and home fries. I wasn't crazy about the hash browns but loved everything else I've eaten. My husband had an omelet, home fries and bacon when we went together. He wasn't feeling the home fries but devoured everything else. If I had to mention anything I would like to see the floors cleaner. There was food on the floor in several places but it's so busy there they probably can't keep up with it until the crowd lessens. Food did not sit in the kitchen long before it was brought to us. Red bean nachos. Good but needed more cheese. Blackened salmon salad. Very good portion and presented nicely though it could use more dressing tossed through. And the corned beef reuben was assembled nicely with plenty of meat and cheese. I'm glad to return. Can't believe it's been five years since my wife, and I have been here but we don't get to the Cotswold Area very often except for Horizon Eye and Novant Orthopedic and Sports Medicine This time Susan had an appointment with Novant for pain in her knees. Last time, biggest complaint was service was slow. Not this time. Excellent and prompt service from the time we walked in the door till we left. Nice menu and when I looked at the Specials for today, I knew what Susan was going to order and I was right. She went for the Chicken Pot Pie, and she proclaimed in was one of the best ever. I will admit it looked great and very plentiful portions. I went with one of my favorites was a half of a Muffuletta and a side of Onion Rings. Had a choice of hot or cold sandwich and while I normally get the sandwich cold, decided to go with the hot sandwich. This was probably a mistake because it was somewhat greasy and the fat in the Mortadella melted added to it. Portion sizes were very good, and the Onion Rings were nice and crispy. We got there just the lunch rush but got in and out in just over 30 minutes. Will be back next time we come down to this area. read more

Our server was friendly enough, but disappeared multiple times and didn't seem super enthusiastic. I used to be a server, so I understand having one of those days where you would rather be af home, so I tried to give her a pass. Now the food, decided to get the red beans and rice, after the server recommended it. It was not good at all. A bucket of salt on top of rice and dry bread. I powered through it, but it was a struggle. I should've sent it back, and I am kicking myself that I didn't, because normally I do. I am trying to turn over a new leaf, but this was difficult. It's as good as we remembered from our younger years - though very little has changed in terms of decor and "divey" vibe, the service, consistency and quality of what comes out is why this place has a never ending line. If you question it, YES this is one of charlottes best breakfast joints around. We wish we were early enough to be opening regulars - as we'd be there every single weekend if we could make it happen. Buy we tend to wait too long and get forced into a wait - (ugh, hangry is never good). The shredded hashbrowns are the crunchiest around and omelets are made with TLC - (not just slapped on the grill and tossed around into an unrecognizable mound). Reuben - solid. Breakfast - Eggs, bacon, everything is better than a standard diner. Properly cooked every time. Wings - solid not spectacular. Sides - all are fresh, but not always tasty, due to their choice of ingredients - pasta salad drenched in Italian dressing and basic potato salad. The quality of the ingredients in those recipes aren't always a winning combination... But I never leave, however, saying that it's not worth putting into the rotation next time. I LOVE EDDIES PLACE. Weekend mornings, the wait is worth it. I've been coming here for YEARS and I'm astonished it's taken me so long to give this place their deserved 5 stars. Do a stranger a favor and get their French Toast on ciabatta bread. The texture is amazing. I'm always eager to see their breakfast specials, sometimes they feature a fun topping for either their pancakes or French toast. I'm super big on potato's and I get them done "old style" which is cubes of potato sautéed with onions. Coffee is super hot, I typically get a water and cool it down with a few ice cubes. It's very very very important to note that everyone is super nice here, I've truly never had a negative interaction. read more
