That's why I've been going to the same place since I moved into my apt, however one day the craving for noodles hit me while I was at work and I had to come up with a plan. I tried out New City - shrimp lo-mein and it was awesome (whew!) Huge shrimp, the noodles were seasoned/cooked perfectly - it had all the good stuff in it, onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts - delicious! I called my order in and it was ready for pick-up in less than 10 minutes (during the busy lunch hour) AND the prices are pretty great there as well. This is the best Chinese food in town. Okay first off the wonton soup is REAL wanton soup, it has actual brother as a base and the wontons are amazing. The egg roll is good, I wanted a shrimp roll and they got the order wrong but whatever. The crab Rangoon is, no words, reminds me of the stuff you get in NYC (clearly not China town NYC but the Bronx) and extremely crunchy! Hidden gem. Major wow factor. I travel a lot and this is some of the best Chinese food I've had. Located on the side of a shopping center and definitely a no frills experience when you walk in - just some serious cooking going on. It's really reasonably priced. The restaurant is set up mostly for take out from what I can see but it is soooo worth it. Self serve condiments and drinks so make sure you stash some soy and duck sauce before you leave! Surprisingly good, but a little too greasy! I was definitely under the impression that I would be receiving stewed cat parts that evening, and sure enough, it was solid white chicken. I've ate here twice now. The first time the General Tso's chicken I ordered was dry and crunchy with hardly any sauce. My husband had the lo mein and was also dissatisfied. Best Chinese food in Chesapeake VA, I don't care what anyone says lol! I've ordered almost everything on the menu, it doesn't matter what you get your food will always be hot and ! The manager (an older guy) is kinda mean but cool at the same time lol he just gets frustrated ALOT but, I always make him laugh when I go there to pick up my food. Oh and the wait time is usually 10 to 15 mins if you go in and order, so you won't wait till 2030 to get your order lol. Call in orders are better if you're in a rush.
