Took a chance after reading reviews by fellow Yelpers, and am glad I did. Nicely situated on a quiet side street, the modern boutique hotel was impeccably clean, peacefully quiet, and conveniently located for dinner and a concert in Washington Heights. Front desk staff Anthony and Verleny were very personable and welcoming, and made us feel like locals. Took a walk around the neighborhood and felt at home, as if we were in the DR. Walked to dinner at Malecon, just across the street from the United Palace. The room wasn't fancy, but sleek and chic enough to satisfy. If a hotel could be a tiny house, this would be the place. I'd definitely stay here again - whether visiting the Heights or exploring other parts of the City. read more

So Disappointed... reported that cash was taken from my bag after early check in. I get that it's NYC and I shouldn't have left Cash in there, but surely didn't expect that. We stayed in the edge hotel for two nights and let me just say, it was not anything worth the price tag. The hotel staff was, in general, very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Not only could we not get room service to clean our room, but we couldn't even get somebody to come up and fix the toilet after it broke for the third time in less than 24 hours. Be ready for an extreme amount of extra fees considering you won't even get to reap the benefits because all your amenities are average, at best. I would definitely recommend taking your money to literally any other hotel on the island and you'll have a much better time. Take my advice and stay away and have a lovely vacation! read more

There some great things about this hotel, like the cleanliness of the rooms, and the staff who are very nice. But the reason for 3 stars is they never have enough mini fridges for guests. I'm a patient at NYP Columbia and I have medications that need to stay cold. But there are other patients who use the hotel and it's first come first serve for the fridges. The hotel definitely makes more then enough money to buy more 100$ fridges. The next issue is cost, which changes every visit. As the hotel raises the rates for anything going on in the city. Even for those that are strictly here as patients and are back every couple weeks. This month alone I will be here 3 weeks in a row. But they are the only place that's 2-3 blocks from the hospital and they know it. For another patient I would recommend the hotel but definitely advise of the downfalls and if it's worth it to them. read more

I am being generous at 1 star. This is a terrible hotel, the front desk is unprofessional, and the manager is unresponsive. The "included breakfast" is in the basement with a surly staff. The ice machine was broken, with no indication of being repaired. The the maid did not clean the room, the floor was dirty. When I asked for it to be cleaned both manager and the maid were surly and rude. It was so bad, we left and went to the Park Place. When I asked that the rest of the reservation be cancelled, the person at the front desk said it was done, but it was not cancelled. Being close to Presbyterian Hospital is the only plus, but I decided I'd rather travel then experience one more nightmare...What a thoroughly bad hotel. read more

Very petite, but very clean and comfy. The staff is very friendly and are there for anything you need. It's close to the medical centers and hospitals so it's convenient if that's the case. Otherwise, it's also convenient for students visiting Columbia University Medical Center. read more

I was here attending a conference. This hotel was SUPER clean and cute. I had to fit in my runs between my conference schedule so used their fitness center...though they had water in the center, one of the staff would see me going hamster style and bring me bottled water. Staff were very friendly and courteous. They know the area and had some good restaurant recommendations and gave clear and easy to follow directions. I'd highly recommend the Edge. read more

"where do i begin" i went here to use their so called " business center" because i had a guest from out of town staying a few nights at this location. and i was truly displeased with the amount of things that i witness at this location. the area is forever changing and i think this location has the potential to hit the masses, but for my personal opinion this location in particular gave me a really bad taste in my mouth. so here we go with my play by play break down. "wheres my welcome?" upon walking into the place i did notice that the main entrance did look really good but actually going in this place i did not receive the "hospitatly expectations" that i was looking for. first i walked inside of being greeted i caught glares from the employees,it was as if i was not suppose to be in the room. that min i felt uncomfortable and to make matters worse, i still was not greeted with any "hello"/"welcome to ...."/or "how are you?" instead i was prejudged from the start.. "ummm hello?" literally i finally managed to find the room (and i have to mentioned this, the staff did not even bother telling me where the room was)and i noticed that the room was a lot smaller than what i had seen on the pictures on their website. "overall" i personally would not come here just based on the fact that the staff was very rude, and were not a big help in making my experience as a guest a good one. read more

I had a delicate surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and was delighted this beautiful, comfortable and friendly hotel was just a 9 minute walk from where I needed to be. (I walk slow.) There is a private pharmacy within 1 minute of the Milstein Heart building too, along 168th street on the way back to the hotel. I enjoyed the healthy, small muffin choices for breakfast and the boiled eggs. You can request a refrigerator for your room. Aqua Marina delivered wonderful pasta dishes to the hotel. Coogan's Pub had an excellent Impossible vegetarian burger. Should I need surgery again, I will certainly return to this hotel. Tara was very friendly and helpful. I had booked for 3 nights but returned in time to cancel the third night, feeling better than I expected from my surgery. read more

Stay here almost weekly for business and always happy. Edge is obviously in a great location for anyone needing to be in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan, a block from express subway lines. But more than that, the hotel is modern and very clean, staff are very friendly, the rooms are all well maintained and breakfast is even good. Highly recommend. read more

The Edge Hotel was perfect for what we needed and a bonus for what we didn't know that we needed: a cute boutique of a place that was convenient and appreciated. I felt like I was vacationing in a European hotel, but really, I was spending the night to prepare for my surgery at NYPres/Columbia the very next day (mid-October/2020). The staff was amazing and we were so appreciative of both Tara and Nelia's hospitality during our stay. Though I only stayed one night, my hubby stayed two to be nearby while I was recuperating post-op. The location is great and we enjoyed being in "The Heights," near some decent eats and only a few blocks away from the number 4 hospital in the nation and the number 1 in NYC. We even found street parking! BONUS! We were very pleased with the accommodations (our room had two doubles). Though the room wasn't ginormous (who cares anyway, it's New York City after all), the staff was very helpful to make recommendations on where to eat, where to park, and offering directions to the nearby hospital. I thought the rate was decent for the property and location, and our room on the 11th floor had an amazing view of all of downtown. It was clean, the shower was great, and we could barely hear the bustle of the city outside. I'd stay here again! read more

Cold rooms. The rooms have a weird motion sensor that pretty much turns off the heat of you are mot moving (as in sleeping). I woke up at 3am freezing, had to call reception and they got rod of that thing, couldn't sleep afterwards. When i pay to stay in a hotel, i expect to set the temperature at any level i like. I stayed at the Edge Hotel for one night recently while my father was having a procedure done at nearby Columbia Presbyterian (great hospital btw). The Edge is a really cute, boutique hotel, decorated in a very stylish, modern aesthetic, and like many others have mentioned, spotless. So clean! The rooms are a bit small which you would expect in a major city, but the beds are very comfortable and they give you free bottled water as well as toiletries. The bathroom was nice with great water pressure in the shower. The only criticism I would have is that maybe the sheets and towels could have been a little softer. The staff was very friendly and created a welcoming environment. read more

Just checked in while hubby is in Hospital. My room is everything I like in a hotel. Although the room is small by most American standards, it is meticulously clean, modern and well acquiped (free wifi, in room bottled water and coffee (nice little Keurig) modern (pristine!) bathroom and lovely bedding). The staff so far has been warm and friendly and eager to help if needed. I would definitely stay again here and recommend it to my friends. read more

The Edge Hotel is a very nice 'boutique' hotel (as in small, but very efficient rooms). We stayed in a standard queen room for one night while my husband had some business in the area. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the toiletries in the bathroom were lovely. The bedside lights had small reading lamps attached- a big plus for me. Two complimentary bottles of water were a nice touch. The people at the front desk were friendly, and Anthony, especially, couldn't have been nicer. He answered the phone in the morning when I called to see if we could check in early (They were able to accommodate my request.) and he was there when we checked in and when we checked out. The breakfast was decent- my only complaint was that the very large tv was blaring the news, which must be what other people like when eating breakfast because most hotels have the tv on in the breakfast room. It was a little tricky getting the temperature right in our room, and clearly the doors aren't very soundproof since we could hear people in the hall in the middle of the night. I would definitely stay here again and hope I get to opportunity to do that. read more

My mom and I stayed here from June 5 to June 13 and were very pleased. It's a short walk to the A, C, and 1 subway station as well as to Columbia Medical Center. The staff was friendly and very helpful whenever we needed anything. The hotel room was small but that's to be expected in the city. It wasn't small enough to be uncomfortable and the unit was well-designed to make the most of the space. The room was very clean and everything functioned properly from the thermostat to the Keurig. There are plenty of small amenities e.g. tiny reading lamps below the regular lamps in case you want to stay up late reading and not disturb your bedmate, or umbrellas you can borrow in the lobby. The continental breakfast is nice though the boiled eggs tasted a bit funny. All in all it was a comfortable and pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

I stayed at the Edge Hotel September 30 to October 1, 2017 in New York City. What a great choice! The hotel is only 2 years old and the newness is visible. The hotel is a bit pricey but well worth it. My room though small was well equipped. I loved it. The breakfast was much more than a grab-n-go breakfast. I had toast, boiled eggs, danish and coffee. And I have to mention the great staff. The only problem I had was in trying to regulate the heat with the remote. The Edge Hotel was a great choice indeed. read more

In such an under-served part of NYC, this hotel is such a great place! Very reasonably priced, super clean contemporary simple decor and very friendly, helpful staff. I don't recommend eating any of the pre-packaged sandwiches available in the lobby, however, as a late-night snack attack had me biting into a putrid mess that should have been tossed out days before it's so-called expiration date. Nonetheless, I'll definitely stay here again next time I need a place in Washington Heights. read more

My friends and I were visiting NYC for the weekend, we looked up different places online and this seems to be the most convenient one location wise. When I got there Friday, there was absolutely none to offer valet parking services (although they advertised they did). After waiting in the car for about 40 mins for them to find someone, I decided to just park my car at a nearby parking garage. Once we got to the hotel, the rooms were really small, it was hard to walk around without bumping to people on the way. The bathroom door looks like a closet and it does not lock. The rooms DO NOT have a fridge and does not have enough storage area. There is no such thing as room service in this hotel and you are lucky if they even clean your room while your stay ( we even spoke to the front desk people to have our room cleaned out but apparently they forgot or did not care enough). To top it all off, they overcharged my credit card, on what they claimed to be "a mistake" which took over two weeks for me to get refunded. The area is very convenient and its close to train stations and busses, however, it can be quite DANGEROUS neighborhood. As I was walking to the hotel from the train station, a group of 5 guys tried to robbed us, thankfully we noticed it on time and got into a convenient store in which we decided to take a UBER back to the hotel. Overall, this place was kind of a disappointment, despite the fact that it is apparently a newly built hotel and I wish we could've done a better search on other places. Do yourself a favor and try to find a better place to stay in. read more
