Our room came with a complimentary bottle of wine, which was really nice. They also have a wine hour that is self service and is complimentary. You're allowed as much wine as you want. There's also complimentary charcuterie during the wine hour and it's nice to be able to mingle with other guests. Breakfast the morning of us checking out was delicious and a truly beautiful experience. I wish I was still there.

We booked two rooms on January 9, 2024, for mid-October, my daughter's anniversary and our anniversary, but had to cancel one room on March 13, 2024, due to my daughter's pregnancy. We left our down payment with Herbert Kerschbaumer, Owner of Red Hill, knowing that my wife and I would still enjoy our anniversary in October of 2024. I have recently been diagnosed with Bladder Cancer and cannot make the trip to Red Hill B&B. We call Red Hill B&B for a refund and were told he would refund as soon as his internet came back on. A week later, on October 8, 2024, I reached out to Herbert once again and was told I would not be getting my refund ever and he hung up on me. I immediately called back, thinking maybe we lost connection with him, and he proceeded to tell me to "F" off and hung up on me again. I strongly warn anyone to do business with Red Hill Bed and Breakfast in Lovingston VA, as this establishment has no customer service nor professionalism.

Wander the vineyard a bit, try to spot the hog, count the chickens, settle in on the secluded back porch with a beverage and watch the clouds roll past the mountains. At breakfast, demand the wine jam--don't leave without tasting it. It's expensive but in this case, good value. Note, this review is just for the cottage, not the rooms in the main house.
