Had the worst manager at our table thrughout my sister's birthday party lunch. Her name was Celeste, and if I was the owner, I would totally fire her! I was served a spoiled burger, but didn't notice it until a few bites in because I use their sauce which covered the taste of the burger. I also had my sister taste it and she ended up spitting it out in the napkin. But because some of the burger was missing, they only took 50% off! My stomach is already cramping up!!! How ridiculous! My sister ask for a Tuna sandwich and specified that they cooked it completely. She got it and it was raw inside! Fine for people like me that enjoy that, but not for her! Not only that, the manager was rude to the people sitting at the table and kept rolling her eyes and giving dirty looks to them while she was at our table. Obviously the owner should rethink who manages their business because now they just lost seven customers and whoever they would've brought here! Plus the bad reviews some of us will post of TripAdvisor and other sites to worn people about the food and management. Been on management most of my life and this woman celeste has no idea what she is doing! 2 customers walked out because they never got there food. What an absolute joke. Couldn't accommodate a party of 6 at 4:15pm on a Sunday, even though there was an option to make a reservation at that time on their website and a mostly open patio. For our 17th wedding anniversary we came to Edgewater 122... we had a bottle of champagne waiting compliments of my in-laws at the best table in the place! Michael our waiter took his time with our evening pacing everything perfectly. Delicious appetizers; tomato and buratta salad and mussels. I had the red snapper special and my husband had the scallops both where amazing!!! I really liked how Michael explained they try to focus on the farm to table dining experience and told us the local farms, butchers and fisheries. Went for lunch on a Monday afternoon. The place Was faily empty. We sat outside which offered a nice view. Four of us dined and my wife had the Caesar salad, which was wet and bland. Forgot to include the anchovies, bi t when reminded, proceeded to bring a plate of whole anchovies expecting her to cut them up for her salad! We shared a Brussels sproy plate, which was undercooked and drenched with a sauce which should have been served on the side. I ordered a Cuban sandwich which was described as tender chunks of pulled pork, ham swrved on a roll. What I got was two thinly sliced pieces of store bought ham an about a tablespoon of " tender chunks of pulled pork" which was smeared on the bun like pate and was so sparing, you could barley taste it inside a stale hard bun. The photo shows the sandwich, but I added a couple leaves from my wife's salad. Awful food, service didn't even seem to care about the lack of food quality. Total for lunch was just over $100. If you are looking for a cozy waterfront spot for good food in Southport- this is the place. Reservations are highly recommended. Especially on weekends, holidays, and high season times. The service is friendly here and you'll see lots of smiles throughout the service. The food is good. Solid even. Wine list impressive. Why not 5 stars then? I'm being nit picky here but on the day of our visit, we sat inside because of the heat and humidity outside. But found the inside too hot. Was the AC broken? Not sure. Also, another nit picky thing, we ordered two bottles of moscato - small, individual bottles with screw tops. The waiter did not open or offer to pour the wine for us. Neither of these are huge marks, but enough for me to withhold one star. I'll definitely be back. read more

WOW!! we could not have had a better dinner. There were eight folks in our party. The restaurant had our table ready when we arrived. Our waiter was fantastic! He greeted us warmly and got us menus, water, and took our drink orders quickly. One person in our party wanted a bloody mary. They were out of bloody mary mix yet somehow managed to make some appear!! All of the drinks were well mixed even when we order things off the menu. Our dinner order was taken promptly and arrived with perfect timing, just as we finished our appetizers. Everything we ate was perfect: crab cakes, shrimp and grits, Captain's Platter, and scallops. My husband, two friends and I went to Edgewater for brunch Sunday. Let''s start with the view, beautiful. I mean it is hard to mess up the water view in Southport. Now the food. We all enjoyed our meals. My husband had the crab cake Benedict. He nearly licked the plate, so I assume he liked it. I had shrimp and grits, the shrimp were very good, not mushy or over cooked. Our friends had sandwiches, they enjoyed. The Parmesan French fries could become an addiction. We all agreed the crab Benedict was the best dish. And last but certainly not least, our server Dillon was very good. One person in our party had a problem with their dish. He took care of it quickly and professionally. The restaurant was very busy, he never made us feel rushed, he answered all our questions. The food runner was also very nice. He took our picture for us, brought out extra plates and napkins. Went for Valentine's dinner after making reservations 2 weeks prior. They waited until the day of to tell me the menu was price fix at $85 per person. Arrived to a "tented" seating area with plastic heated by portable heaters. Seated by the door on a cold evening. After 10 mins. sitting getting cold, got up and left. They ruined what should have been a wonderful Valentine's evening for the 2 of us. Don't go unless the sun is shining and it's in the 70's. read more

What a great upscale addition to the Yacht Basin area of Southport! This new restaurant is nestled between Provision Company and Fishy Fish, right on the water. I was so happy to celebrate my engagement over dinner on the outdoor patio with the most perfect sunset view. This is a new-ish restaurant but everything came together really nicely! The best thing we ordered were the mussels, by far. They're served in this garlic broth that is heavenly to dip the grilled bread into. YUM. We also had the crispy skin chicken and mahi mahi fish of the day. The cheese board was a really nice size with really flavorful cheeses and crackers. I highly recommend that you give this place a try! They take reservations through the Open Table app and I can see Edgewater getting really busy during the summer time. read more

Walked down after we went to Fishy Fish to see if we could get a table and was greeted by employees at the hostess stand. They were all friendly and helpful. We stayed for our wonderful dinner. Dillon was a friendly waiter with a great personality. The food was delicious the atmosphere was very nice. We'll definitely be back for another great meal. Sorry to write a review less than thrilled but we were really disappointed. Went with friends and we all were very surprised how bad our meals were. Scallops way over salted. Placed on bed of a Rice and pea. So bland. No brightness flavor. Just plain blah. Tuna special was so so. Again the bed of what they called Spanish rice was mushy (over cooked) and incredibly bland. Crab balls app was nice size servings but again lacking in interest with seasoning. Others had Caesar salads with tuna, which we're good but typical We were so excited to go there. But unfortunately we probably will not return. Prices charged are not inline with quality of dishes served. Staff very nice. Service very good. A plus on the waterfront patio dining. read more

(You read that right, GREY). They were not cooked thoroughly. I conveyed our concerns to the manager, who was very apologetic and offered to bring us out another round of shrimp and sub the uncooked risotto with gouda polenta. When round 2 of the shrimp arrived. . . same grey hue. They were still not cooked. The polenta had a floral earthy taste that reminded me of incense. Not a fan. Loved this place! They take reservations for the patio which is always appreciated. We sat on the heated patio on a semi chilly day (60 degrees) and it was lovely not cold at all. We tried the blue crap arracinhi and shrimp scampi to start both were amazing. Had blackened shrimp flatbread (will order again and again), their signature burger (high quality meat cooked to perfection), fried jumbo (they aren't lying) shrimp, and fried Mahi (the batter was great), and hand cut fries (best I've had in a long time).
