The best Thit Nuong and special of the grilled shrimp salad with peanut dressing. Fresh and so very tasty. Love the ambience and the best service in town. You want be disappointed.

Great food & great service! Highly recommend Lemongrass Curry...so flavorful (and spicy)! Anytime you can get unicorn fish, definitely get it. Their specials are always very good. Loco Jo's has been added as a must when in Southport!

I ate here with the family while in Southport. The seafood served here was very fresh. The shrimp tacos were delicious with absolutely no fishy taste. I was hoping for corn tortillas and the flour did not disappoint. Accommodations and services were fine on a Saturday, the crew did a good job.

Love going to Loco Jo's Grill when we're in town. Food is fresh. Drinks are tasty. Only drawback is the seating is EXTREMELY limited!! If you have a large party I would suggest doing a takeout order because you just won't fit. We have done both. Ate at the bar and also gotten food to go and sat on a swing watching the ocean! So I guess what I'm saying is don't let the tiny space keep you for going here. Be inventive and get it to go.

Blackened Red drum tacos (tonight's special)

So DELICIOUS!! The food menu is small but surprisingly eclectic, well thought out and plated. Tonight I shared with my son the fried haddock with macaroni salad and a side salad and a basket of curly fries (which were a special premium side today) my husband had the special catch, blackened red drum tacos with shrimp guacamole. The food did not disappoint, the haddock was massive, super fresh and crispy the sides were fresh and portions were quite big. My husbands tacos were super fresh, the shrimp guacamole was amazing! If you've never had red drum, try it! This place has a large selection of interesting cocktails and beers that I would've loved to try had I not had to drive. This is a small place but a great place, the food is delicious and the staff is warm and inviting. If you're looking for fine dining, or more of a run of the mill place this isn't for you. If you're looking for delicious food and drinks in a bar setting that isn't sleazy give this restaurant a try. You won't regret it!!

So excited to find them not too busy at lunch so we were able to get a table. They have a varied menu and more specials on the board. I had a drink off the board. It was ok - nothing special. We started with the dumplings. Honestly better than any Chinese restaurant. Great filling to wrap ratio. The wrap was delicious. The chicken was moist the wrap didn't fall apart. The wrap held up to the ingredients. Our server was friendly, helpful and efficient.

Great stickers and magnets to read while we waited for our food.

Awesome find! My friend and I wanted to try something new and were thrilled when we found Loco Jo's. All the tables were taken when we arrived so we had to sit at the bar. We ordered the Gouda Mac n cheese bites to start. Wow!! Melt in your mouth deliciousness. Then we both ordered the catch of the day- blackened mahi tacos. They were heavenly! We were a little bummed that we only got two tacos per order and barely a handful of tortilla chips to accompany them. The first server that sat us, was not very welcoming and told us where we needed to sit at the bar - even though she didn't do that for others. She warmed up to us in the end though. We definitely loved the food and the vibe of the place and will be back!

Do they have any outdoor seating? Are dogs allowed? Is that little park near the water open if not? Thanks!

Yes they have outdoor seating but they may only be doing carry out. You can walk dogs on leashes pretty much everywhere including beach.

We were greeted by very friendly staff that seated us in a back corner. No foot traffic over there. Server came by for drink orders and we had some time to look over the large menu. It is your typical diner food. Big portions and all fresh made. We tried the Henny Penny sandwich with side of fries and the Reuben with side of fries. Chicken was cooked perfectly on this wonderful roll. Looked delicious. The Reuben meat was chopped and mixed with the sauce and sauerkraut. Very easy to eat this way. And I love the marble rye bread. Not sure where they get their bread but both sandwiches were amazing. Fries were hot and crispy too. This is a great spot right in the middle of Southport. When we finished and left, almost every table was full, even outside tables. There are only about 8 tables inside, so when they are busy, I'm sure there is a wait. We will definitely return when in Southport. Give this little place a try. Great food and service right in the heart of Southport. 5 stars

We sat outside and if the wait had been less I would have sat inside since the flies joined our table as soon as the food came out. Fun to sit outside though, just to feel some of the vibe as people milled about. Price was high for a burger in any normal environment, but you're paying beach prices.

My friends told me they had a wonderful experience at Fizzy Jane's so my husband and I decided to check it out for a date night during our annual family beach trip. I'll be honest the exterior is not much to look out. While located right by docks and boats, the building itself looks pretty residential and is lacking signage. However, what a transformation once you walk inside. Lots of fun wall paper, neon signs, greenery, painted murals, and more to give trendy Instagram photo worthy vibes. It is a large place with lots of seating, including a separate private room for a larger party gathering. Lots of great cocktails to choose from. My husband got a paper plane (one of his favorites) and I tried the strawberry basil sour. They did not skimp on the alcohol as it was quite strong. I very much enjoyed the boozy fruit at the end. The menu is on the smaller side with only 5-6 options for appetizers and entrees, but they also do a handful of weekly specials. While a smaller list, honestly all of the appetizers and entrees listed sounded delicious. After much discussion, we settled on getting two appetizers, a salad, and one entree to share. The waitress happily said she would space the items out for us and decide which order was best for a progressive meal, I appreciated that! Overall she provided fantastic service all night. The Crispy Tuna (raw poke tuna over crispy rice with kimchi aioli, sesame seeds, jalapeños, and green onion) was a must order according to our friends who recommended the place. They did not steer us wrong! It was a great bite, the crunch from the rice, the soft fresh tuna, little heat from the jalapeños, creaminess from the aioli, and I added a little soy sauce on top for some salt. Yum! I was glad it came 4 to an order so I got to have two! Next to arrive was the Wedge Salad (iceberg, bacon, tomato, crispy onion, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese salad dressing). Nothing unique here as it was the traditional preparation. You did get a lot of crispy onions which I liked for texture. They also did not skimp on the crumbles. You can add protein to their salads if you want for extra. In my opinion, the salad was overdressed, so a little bit of the crunch from the lettuce was lost. Honestly this is probably my only small gripe of anything I was served at this meal. My favorite dish of the night was the Duck Wings (fried wings with sweet and spicy gochujang sauce). You get 7 wings, all drums, to an order. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat still tender. The gochujang sauce was divine. Perfect sweet and spicy balance. You will be licking your fingers as you want to enjoy every drop. We found ourselves eating the shredded lettuce/cabbage underneath the wings as why not it was dressed in the sauce. Duck is very similar in taste to chicken. If you like wings, you must order these! Final item of the night was our entree selection- the Shrimp & Grits (grilled shrimp and fish over grits topped with gravy, green onions, and hot sauce served with toasts). The catch of the day was red drum which is a nice white flaky fish. It went great in this dish. The shrimp were a nice size and the seasoning on the proteins was lovely. The grits were super creamy due to the gravy. I liked the extra kick of the hot sauce on top. The toast was buttery and crispy so the perfect vessel to sop up the grits. It's a heavier but satisfying dish, so I'm glad we split it. This amazing meal left us with no room for dessert. I am not gonna lie I went to bed early and slept hard that night as the food was that good. If you are coming to Southport, venture off the main drag a little and come to Fizzy Jane's. I will be back. They also do brunch, which I am excited to try as well next time I visit the island!

She was funny, a little sassy, and had a great personality that made us feel right at home. Be prepared for a crowd! We visited on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was very busy and quite loud. Everything was excellent--5/5. The Gouda potatoes were especially delicious, and the flounder was perfectly crispy without being greasy. My son ordered the crab boil special and cleaned his plate, which says it all. My boyfriend had the fried oyster po' boy, and it was very good as well.
