Had a fantastic meal at Edgewater Inn recently! The huge chunks of pineapple on the Hawaiian were great and the hot honey sausage pizza felt homemade. Like the sausage felt quality. The crust was super flaky and had a great crunch. Washed it all back with some draft lagers and was just a great pairing. Loved the old school vibe and the service always made sure we had enough drinks and water. They're connected to bar next door (same owners) so you can actually get the pizza on the super nice patio at Lot46. Honestly was delighted to find a new pizza shop and amazing patio at Lot46. read more

So, I have a funny story for you. I went in to grab some pizza and a couple of beers. I had taken pics of the whole part of the bar that I was in, was getting ready to close out, and it was already a five out of five. Then, this woman comes in and says that she is supposed to meet someone there, but didn't see them. The bartender says "Check the back bar." I said "You have a back bar???" Through this one door to the restrooms was a long hallway that led to a LOT of other fun places. Outdoor sitting area, one patio, another patio, a whole other bar, and a STAGE! Ok, back to the review. I sat at the front bar, and Sarah was my bartender. VERY friendly, VERY efficient, and VERY personable. She elevated my experience there and then some. I wasn't there during happy hour, but they have some good deals on there for future reference. I had a Lagunita's IPA and the three-meat pizza (12"). The pizza was DELICIOUS. Some people are deep dish folks, and some are thin crust folks. This pie dropped right in the middle. I just like pizza. I like it all. I even saved a piece to take for the wife at home, which I decided was a really thoughtful gesture considering pizza usually doesn't make it home when I am eating. They had two non-typical hot sauces for my meal (LOVE that), they are on a cool street with shops, restaurants, and breweries, they have the lake down the street, chill classic rock playing for tunes, a couple of TV's for sports, live music a lot, and they are on INKIND (if you are not on that app yet, get on it...ridiculously great system for discounts), for extra savings. The front bar combined a dive bar and a diner feel, and the back bar was expansive, darker, and had the stage. I imagine a lot of fun is had in the back bar at night, and I look forward to partaking in that experience in the near future. Listen. I am a pizza guy, so it would take really bad pizza for me to not make another appearance, but with this place having STELLAR pizza, great service, and all of those other fun things to enjoy, I can't WAIT to go back. Living so close to this place I'm disappointed I didn't go sooner. My boyfriend and I went for a lunch date and it was so good! No complaints on the interior, they had a bar and booths. We sat at a booth to people watch while we ate. I had the mango margarita and the peach pounder, he had the spicy mezcalita and the whiskey business. Divine! I was super glad we chose to walk there instead of drive since we were both a bit tipsy after those. The chips and queso was delicious we demolished it almost immediately. We ordered the three meat pizza, it was so good. It came with sausage, pepperoni and prosciutto... I've never had that combo before and I didn't even get a chance to snap a picture before we finished it. Super good. We've been twice now and I can never take a picture of any item before I scarf the whole thing down. We live down the street and we don't come here nearly enough. The pizza is honestly incredible! I got the bianca with sausage and it was chefs kiss. We love that we can each get our own 9" pizza so we can have the toppings we love. We also got the spinach salad and it was fresh and delicious. The cocktails are all $12 which is a great price. Service is stellar. Very dive feel inside but much better food than a dive! Highly recommend overall. Also they are on InKind!!! This is for the pizza only. Edgewater Inn pizza has been a staple in my life since I could remember at almost a half a century old. I haven't had a Howdy Special in some time because I moved over an hour away. Edgewater Inn pizza has alway held a very special place in my heart, especially after having lost my mom more than a few years ago. She had been on my mind a lot recently, and I was thinking back to when we would pick up a Howdy Special and drive to Sloans lake and watch the sunset while she told my brother and I stories of her younger years, or eating a slice on the way home because it was nice and hot listening to music, eating leftovers the next day, cold, and so many more! My wife happened to be in the area, and we decided to order a pizza because she knew my mom had been heavy on my mind. When she called to let me know was on her way home; the countdown began, I knew I was going to be jumping some the nostalgia of happiness I know from my childhood that carried with it a lot of great memories with my mom. When I heard the garage open, I knew the time was now, my wife brought our Howdy Special in, I opened the box only to see something that was the Temu version of my nostalgia, there was as much crust as there was toppings. This pizza was bare, I almost wanted to give it something to cover itself with. There were a few ingredients I recognized from years past, so there was a sliver of hope that there could still at least be the flavor...once again, disappointment. This lasted all the way through the crust, which was chewy and not at all the pizza of years past. The heaviness of the pizza was gone, the crust was different, the toppings were M.i.A., the sauce was also no where to be seen...I looked at my wife literally cried because this brought nothing back to me except a feeling of disappointment and sadness, because I knew I will probably never get that great flavor of yesteryears again, and puff went some sort of connectiveness of a moment with my mom, that I was craving. I used to think people were crazy that would retort with saying that Edgewater Inn pizza wasn't that good after I'd boast about the Howdy Special. I can see why they said what they said, now. Edgewater had a good thing, this is a prime example of what happens when there's new ownership, whether family or someone else, they get away from what made it successful in the first place, then someone tries to get cute, cut corners, save money while upping the price. After my wife told me what we paid for the pizza at $36 for a large...I almost called my credit card company to tell them this charge was theft, but realized that they couldn't replace the theft of my childhood nostalgia. If they wisen up and go back to the old recipe I'll come back, until then. At the very least, release the original recipe to the public if you're not going to make it. read more

I love love loveeeeee Edgewater Inn! I'm a local and have been coming here for years, but ever since the ownership changed it's gotten so much better. The revamped Inn has such delicious food and even better drinks. It is now also a double venue, connected to the new music bar, Lot 46. Cadence and Bryan are my favorite servers/bartenders here and never fail to match the quality of the venue with quality service! Oof. Had high hopes with the ownership change. It was easy to get in on a Saturday night and service was fine but the pizza was a miss. We got the garlic cheese bread to start - which was good. Crusty and a little gooey salty with some sweetness. We got a large howdy pizza to share between 2 people. Thought we would be able to sub the olives for red onions and got a $2 charge. Okay whatever. The sauce is so bland, the pizza is way too floppy for all the ingredients on it. We added all the crushed red pepper Parmesan and ranch ($0.75) to the pizza. The ranch was delicious but the pizza was seriously lacking in flavor and quality. Not sure if it was an off day or what. Went to enjoy a Edgewater Inn famous Howdy Special pizza. Well, was I disappointed!, It was awful. I have been coming here since 1980 Didn't taste anything like the original recipe. Everything was subpar. The dough, the sauce, the sausage, the jalapeño peppers, even the black olives. I ordered a 9" for $15 and it came out with a thin crust saturated w/ awful sauce. Then they put even more sauce on top making it a soggy mess. The waiter was so nice, he comped my pizza because I told him how much I disliked it. He seemed like he was used to many before me that had complained. He said they changed the recipe. Last time I will ever eat there. Lost a patron. Good things don't last forever I guess. read more

I've been to this place 3 times, and I don't think I'll be back. The pizza dough was so thin, all the toppings fell off, and the toppings were added to the pizza after it was almost done because the toppings were NOT hot! The tomato sause had no flavor... not a NY style pizza!! There's a certain technique on how to make an original NY style pizza, and they just haven't mastered it. I heard that this place has been sold 3 times! Changing ownership that many times in the last 5 yrs is a huge red flag. It's no wonder the food isn't that good.
