Spent 2 nights here recently and we loved it! Such a gorgeous lobby that looks like a log cabin and is decorated so cute and cozy. The front desk ladies were all so friendly and had great big smiles! That was very welcoming, and a nice touch. Also they were very helpful indeed. The room was spacious and warm. We had a pool view room, not a river view, but to be honest, I was happy it was downstairs and I did not have to climb stairs. The little shampoo, soap, lotion is a nice quality brand, Aveda. And the room had everything I needed, including a wine bottle opener (nice touch!) but no microwave. The special little "extras" were what made the stay a cut above your typical hotel: full hot breakfast (tasted good!), wine and cheese in the evenings, and warm chocolate chip cookies and cold milk at night! We got a chance to try everything, and it was really, really nice! I loved the wine, and they gave a very generous glass full, and the cookies and milk were such a comfort food. I would absolutely stay here again, it will be my first choice of hotel when visiting Grants Pass!

This is their fake "QUEEN" sized bed. (Note 8 1/2 x11paper on mattress for scale.) full sized mattress is 54 inches. Queens are 60.

Looks good on paper, but we found reality disappointing and deceptive. I had booked a Double Queen room. We arrived and were giving our room and the pool was said to be heated to 84°. We went to our room changed and went down to the pool, which was ice cold. Later that night we found that the two queen beds were actually two full-size mattresses. (Full size mattresses are 54 inches wide while queen size mattresses are 60 inches. Yes we measured) We spent the night squashed on the full sized mattress. The next morning, when we checked out, I told them that We had been given a room with full-size mattresses. The clerk said we don't have rooms with full-size mattresses and I proceeded to tell him; "yes you do..." All I got out of him was "I'm so sorry" This hotel made a lot of surface level promises on its website. (Wine, crackers, cookies etc) But they lack the integrity to do the fundamentals correctly. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this place. We were driving through and exhausted and needed to stop at a dog friendly place, which this is. At 11:30 PM the front staff gal was darling and super helpful and there was plenty of parking for people like us who were pulling trailers. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and we had everything we needed. When we woke in the morning and realized how beautiful our setting was it was an extra bonus. And then surprise of all surprises, free breakfast with biscuits and gravy! My heart (and mouth) is happy.

What an amazing place! The hospitality was incredible! Jonathan, at the front desk, was amazing, he needs a raise! In the evening you can have a glass of wine and sit at the fireplace, it reminded my Dad of his ole ranch! If you wait longer there are milk and cookies. The breakfast is a full spread! I felt like we were at a Bed and Breakfast with all of the wonderful treats! The only place I will stay when I return to Grants Pass!

It was a rainy day, but when this is your view from your covered patio, who cares???

My wife and I actually went to the Lodge at the Riverside due to a "hotel hop". We originally checked into a large chain hotel that was overpriced and subpar to say the least. Upon a whim, I checked yelp and found the Lodge at the Riverside. We took a chance and were not displeased. We got a river view room that was relaxing and beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. NOTE: Just a minor issue, the complimentary breakfast is "just okay". Same menu everyday, typical for most places.

What a little gem! Jan 2023, off season so really good price. But even at a higher price point this would still be great. Absolutely the largest room I've ever stayed in that wasn't classified as a suite. I mean a huge room. Very comfortable bed, nice linens. In room amenities; microwave, fridge, coffee. Large plush towels, bathrobes, Aveedo toiletries, (q-tips!!). Small lobby, warm cookies. Some reviews complained about the breakfast - we'll let me tell - it is exactly the same "hot continental" you'll get at a Hilton. It was biscuits with sausage links, gravy, potatoes and steamed eggs. Make your own waffles and the usual assortment of baked goods. Three types of whole fruit plus juice. They don't advertise a home cooked meal. 5 stars for delivering exactly what they advertised in a beautiful, bright clean setting. Oh and really good, organic, micro brew coffee. Most importantly: safe, clean and a reasonable value.

Enjoyable fire with a complimentary glass of Merlot.

We found ourselves back in Grants Pass and didnt consider staying anywhere else besides The Lodge. They take such good care of us. Wine and cheese time, followed by milk and cookies...... come on, who does that. We love The Lodge. Mary was an awesome host, who I witnessed taking care of guests in an exemplary manner.

Deluxe King Top Floor Riverview

Stayed here for a few days Mid April for a vacation. I thought the place was very nice! The staff were friendly and helpful, check-in was easy, and I liked my room a lot. There was plenty of parking, which is very important to me. My room was a Deluxe King Top Floor Riverview. I thought the view was gorgeous, and the room was clean and nice. The one thing I was not a fan of was the shower. I am a pretty short person, but the shower head was mounted so low that it was awkward to use. But overall I had a good stay here and am already planning to come back next year.

Paid for River view and this was our view.

Paid extra for a river view with a patio. When we got to our room the patio was not private and exited to the stairs. Sitting on the patio there was a huge tree that blocked the view of the river. The beds were very uncomfortable and the TV remote only worked using the down channel button. When I first arrived and saw the patio area I went to the front desk to see if I could be switched out the manager was not very helpful and said they were totally booked for the night and no other rooms were available. I feel I was lied to like they did not want to have to clean rooms for people coming in on Friday since this was a Thursday night. When we woke in the morning there were only about 15 cars out front for a 20-30 room hotel. This was part of an anniversary trip with my wife and left a sour taste being the last night of our trip. I feel like I was treated differently, Hotle seemed a bit snooty, and felt like I was treated differently based on my appearance.

This small only 15 rooms Motel is really nice, both inside and out. Unlike some of the other reviews, and the pictures that show it, they have upgraded the rooms with flat screen TV and remodeled bathroom (even though there's no countertop, there is a set of shelves that work just as good). My room and bathroom were spotless from what I could see. A very nice place to stay for a few days, if necessary. The Wi-Fi, is free and works well. And, if I remember correctly, it is secured (sorry, but I went about 32 hours without sleep. So, I don't recall exactly, as I didn't use it long). The only problem that I was able to find, is that they don't start serving breakfast until 0800. So early eaters will probably have to go out for breakfast (see my review for the Powderhorn Cafe). And, with the wine classes at they have available, it might make a nice anniversary getaway, too. I'll post pictures later, as I have to transfer them from my laptop to this phone first.

Grants Pass has a large variety of motels and it seems I find a new gem every time I visit. The…read moreBuona Sera Inn is just that kind of place. It's a very quaint old school motel oozing character. Margaret, the current owner, told me that the motel was built in the 30s and then the other half was added in the 50s to create the motel's current horseshoe shape. The motel has been updated many times over the years and mixes vintage with modern very easily. There are only 15 rooms, but each one is unique, with some having full kitchens and bedrooms. There are painted murals of vines and such on the walls, and the rooms come with bathroom, shower, kitchen (with eating utensils and plates) fridge, microwave and even a dining table. The bed was comfortable if not a bit too squishy. It's all done in the style of the old motels where you parked in front of your room. Jackie, the check in lady, was helpful and kind and made checking in a breeze. It's located on one of the main streets in Grants Pass and is within walking distance of a bunch of helpful stores and restaurants. With all this charm and very affordable pricing, this is my new go-to motel in the Grants Pass area.

We were driving through the area and decided to stop somewhere quiet and naturalistic to chill out…read morefor two nights. I saw some very positive reviews for The Weasku Inn on the Rogue River, so I booked it. I am SO glad I did! The lodge is nostalgic of days gone by, built in 1924-- so quaint and lovely. On arrival, a warm staff met us and we checked in to a picturesque cabin facing the river. Perfect! King sized SUPER comfy bed stacked high with lovely quilts. The cabin featured a lovely mountain-style, working rock fireplace with a comfy couch facing the fireplace, looking out onto the trees with the river beyond. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The Weasku offers "appetizers" in the evening--which really is more like a meal. If you are still hungry after the appetizer hours, which we were not, restaurants for dinner are just a quick 5 minute drive away. There is a bar available to purchase wines, beer and ciders, if you wish, available all day long with complementary coffees and teas, as well. And the FULL breakfast is SO well done; not like those plastic, poorly done "breakfasts" served at many places--THIS is a proper, complete breakfast meal. There is a fire pit for evenings and complementary "s'more"kits are available for toasting on the fire. The Weasku staff were so warm and friendly and all seemed to be pleased to see us! We will most certainly return to this lovely spot. If what you want is a respite from the crazy, a quiet cozy place to relax and comfortable accommodations, you will love The Weasku. Amenities worth mentioning: Cabin includes: *TV *Hair dryer *Complimentary Wi-fi *Charging station for

I saw the many rave reviews and decided that this must be "the place". I'm going to be as objective…read moreas possible while setting the record straight- the staff were all good, and offering breakfast, appetizers and cookies/fire/s'mores in the evening was a really nice touch. As others have mentioned, the breakfast wasn't great, but we were travelling with little kids so having something to get the day started is really important (A for effort, C- for execution). They had a decent selection of beer and wine to order in the evenings (at reasonable prices for a hotel). The grounds were pretty nice. Things fall short of expectations when you get to the accommodations and location. Our cabin felt old and dilapidated, not "historic" in the sense of the Ahwahnee Lodge (Yosemite) or Lake MacDonald Lodge (Glacier). You walk in to a slightly damp environment that smells a bit like septic mixed with old camp fire. The couch, and carpet were pretty gross. Beds were mediocre, and although the sheets looked clean, the setup wasn't exactly confidence inspiring. Rooms are not cleaned daily, and since we have little people in diapers, we opted to just put the trash can outside. Perhaps the worst part was that we were put into the AFrame cabin with no possibility to change rooms (that's not what I booked). There's a steep ladder that leads to the second bed upstairs. This arrangement is not realistic or safe with toddlers. Overall, everything was just, kinda... shabby. "Historic" in the context of the Weasku is a euphemism for "run-down". As for location, if you think you're going to be right on the Rogue, you'd be mistaken. There's an irrigation ditch that runs directly behind the cabins, fed by a pump house about 100 yards away. If you do walk down to the river, be careful because this section is very dangerous/inhospitable. The river is really swift there, so it's not good for fishing (yes, no fishing spots there!), not good for kids, no beach stuff... but plenty of spiked berry brambles and poison oak if that's your thing. Road noise is constant and detracts from the vibe of peaceful seclusion. Interstate 5 is hidden by trees just on the other side of the river, so you'll hear that all night long. As for Grants Pass, unless you've got a reason to be there, you'd be better off somewhere like Ashland. The Weasku served our needs, and we all escaped without bedbugs or scabies. Would I stay again? Not if you paid me. Rating reflects great staff and nice grounds, with negative stars for accommodations.
