You get 4 beer/wine tickets and unlimited access to 30 food and drink booths. They had a great reggae band playing that made for a fun atmosphere. They clearly know what they're doing after 17 years. All the pre-race logistics went smoothly, with quick packet pickup and convenient shuttle buses to the park. The course itself is a beast. Never-ending hills on top of hills. Good thing I love a challenging run. I felt like I earned my right to pig out at the afterparty. Burgers, BBQ wings,Gliers Goetta, Yagoot, Subway, corn on the cob, dessert, and so much more... it was a smorgasbord. Minus one star for not having mile markers or official chip timing. Even though that's probably part of it truly being a 'fun' run, it's just nice to know, y'know? Other than that, I'm definitely thinking this will be an annual event on my race calendar. It is a mess up there. The shuttle service is very well organized and they will definitely get you there on time. And don't worry the buses are heated (that was important this year ;-)) I would also recommend picking up your packet before the day of the race. That way you can avoid the long lines on race day. Unfortunately you'll still have to stand in a line to get your drinking bracelet, but that's worth waiting for, right? Speaking of waiting, that's the big let-down for me. Too many people. Everything required processing too many people. When the race started it took minutes before I could get up to speed, and I was constantly running in a crowd. When the race finished you then get to go to the way too many people at the food and drink tents. I would recommend training hard to be under the 40 minute mark. That way you can get to the eats before the big crowd comes in. I finished at 32:10 and my wife and I were able to try a few different food items before a huge crush of people arrived. Part of the problem is there just isn't enough room for all those people. Why don't they use more of the park for the food area? There were huge empty areas that could've been used for more space. I just don't get. The variety of food items is amazing. They had something for everyone. My pregnant wife particularly enjoyed the fried pickles (I know, what a cliché). And I enjoyed the desert tent. It's a great race, and you get a lot for your money. I just wish it wasn't quite so popular.

Each time I've been, the gate has been open and we walked right in. Other times, I believe they close the gate and you have to pay at the building. The canoes and kayaks were in great shape and you can tell they have been cleaned. The staff was helpful and interact great with children. We went on a 7 mile trip and it was fantastic. The river was clean and not difficult to navigate. We saw alot of turtles, birds, fish, and other wildlife. The whole adventure was peaceful and relaxing. I am looking forward to trying their other locations.

The first time I went was for my dad's 50th birthday with about an 11 person party. We arrive that day and the bus for our trip runs over an hour late to take us to the start point when they did there was a soccer tournament going on at the drop off point so we all had to drag our kayaks a good distance across multiple soccer field areas to start our trip. When we talked to the staff about our experience they told us the owner would reach out to us then he didn't and we called him asking him to give us a call then he still didn't. Hoping that was just a bad day for them I decided to try this place one more time with a smaller group of me, my boyfriend and my dog. During our trip our canoe flipped about .25 miles from end of the trip when my boyfriend moved to grab something out of the bag we brought. Once we flipped we tried flipping the canoe back over but their canoes don't have plugs to let the water held in the boat back out so the boat started to sink which we were holding onto to help us float in heavy current water that was about 15 ft deep. We were saved by people who don't work for the company who were fishing off to the side after about 8 minutes of us floating down the river. They thankfully had kayaks to come save us and our dog. After we were recused they attempted calling tippecanoe multiple times with no answer so they kayaked to the end to finally get a worker to help rescue us. As the staff got us to the landing area they were immediately only concerned about their money. Absolutely not their traumatized customers who lost all their personal belongings and almost so much more than that. I highly recommend if you care for your safety to not do business here as they have zero staff along the river to ensure you don't drown in the very possible situation like Green Acres and many other local Kayaking places do. Attached are photos of their email response to my trip (also asked them to call me and only got an email saying this) and my response back to that email. I have never left a review I had to make an account to even do this but after my experience with this company I would hate for anyone to experience a similar situation or worse one because of the neglect and unawareness of this company.

Let's talk dirty!…read more Because that's what you're gonna get at Lawrenceburg Speedway! This local staple of Lawrenceburg has decades of history. Generations of local dirt track racers giving all they got to a sport they love. Lawrenceburg Speedway is right off the highway and insanely easy to get to. It's so easy that you may miss the road to turn on to to enter the park. Well, I did. Once you get there, you find a place to park. Usually in the grass or the lot closer to the road, if it's a busy night. Check the website for schedules, tickets and pricing and also results. Lawrenceburg will give you a great night and not break the bank. I'm not a "local" to Lawrenceburg as I live North of Cincy about 35 minutes away. As an "outsider", I can immediately see the community here. These are families and friends who come together for some racing and fun and have a great time. You can tell that some of these folks are here week-after-week and this is what they do. It's fantastic. So, you get through the ticket window, walk past the security officer and you're in the park. Hit the refreshment stands early. They don't get crazy busy, but it gets a little dusty once the action starts. You hit the grandstands and it's a seat-yourself deal. No assigned seats. Find a place and park it. Let the action begin. Everything from little four-bangers to buses at this track. And, again, it's always a good time. When you're there, in the stands, it could be 2024 or it could be 1964. It really could. This is just good old fashioned fun. That's it. Guys and gals working hard all week, coming home and eating dinner before they go out to the garage to pound out their ride for Saturday's race. They work hard and they play hard. It's Saturday and it's showtime. They give it all they got and it's an overall great time. Would I go back? Heck yeah! I can't wait for the 2024 season to fire up. Let's go racing!!!! Pro Tip(s): Okay - If you've never been to a dirt track before, you should know a couple of things. If you don't wear glasses, you may want to bring some. You may even want to bring safety glasses. It can get very dusty and, depending on where you're sitting, mud pellets can travel. I choose to throw on my prescription shop safety glasses. Bring a mask or a bandana. The bandana looks cooler. "For COVID?" No! For dust and mud, just like the glasses. Depending on the day, that dust bowl can be dense. I prefer to breathe so I always have a bandana in my pocket, just in case. Don't get all dolled up. Why? Same reason as the glasses and bandana........it get's dirty out here, y'all!! That's dirt track racing. Last Pro Tip - Go to the Concession Stand BETWEEN races/heats. You do not want to be standing there during a race or qualifying. You WILL be showered with mud pellets. This is not a maybe.........this is a guarantee. If you don't believe me, look down when you're walking by the Concession Stand. You see all those mud marbles? Yeah, they didn't just gently roll over there. The rained down in brown waves of glory.
