Went here for an early New Years Eve dinner. I was initially wondering if they would have had a special menu but fortunately the regular menu with really great specials were available. In spite of the early seating time, the restaurant occupied at the proper capacity, with plenty of space between tables, and plexiglass dividers where appropriate. My guest and I were seated promptly and politely. Our server, Tim, made no waste of time in coming to greet us and our experience was off to a great start. We started with the fried calamari and it was done to a very light seasoning and completeness. The breading was light and the meat was plentiful. It came with two dipping sauces, a red marinara type that was good and the other a green pesto. The pesto maybe lacked a little flavor but it was ok. For my entree I had the special of Zuppa di pesce. This was completely filled with mussels, clams, salmon and scallops. This was such a great choice, excellent flavor and quite plentiful. Dessert consisted of the chocolate lava cake. Even though it doesn't look that big, it is certainly enough for two people to share. Edgewater came highly recommended from a security guard at one of the wineries nearby. My friends and I were looking for a place overlooking the water and Edgewater met the expectation. We didn't have a reservation and was seated immediately on a holiday weekend. We were given the option to sit inside vs. outdoor and chose outdoor for obviously reasons. The ambience outdoor is great. They have a deck and a lawn area for seating. Theres also a Koi pond once you enter- very zen. I didn't go inside other than to use the restroom lol; restroom was clean. The staff was extremely attentive and nice. They all wore masks. shout out to Jeff. I had the Lobster pasta which was highly recommended. It was delicious, the lobster and mushroom was so fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The portion is huge! My Brother-in-law had their steak and shrimp and oh my god, the steak was amazing. Literally melts in your mouth, I instantly wished I had order steak instead. My husband and I ordered and pre paid for take out to pick up about an hour in advance. Once we arrived, we called and the food was promptly brought out to our car. We had the char broiler oysters, crab cakes, salmon and stuffed flounder. We received a complimentary bottle of wine, as our order was over $50. The best part about this restaurant is the view in my opinion. The food came out, and my wife and I were very disappointed with the quality of not only the food, but also the plates. They were this weird material, some sort of plastic. The service was good, but I would not recommend coming here. On a Thursday night we were served the best Da best eggplant rolletini on the planet and the broccoli rabe with roasted garlic was so good it was almost illegal - not oily perfectly cooked excellent quality. This restaurant definitely went downhill since the last time we were here which was a few years ago. I was so excited and looking forward to a great experience, unfortunately it was anything but that. The waiter was rude and un-attentive. The other wait staff was fine though. My fish was frozen, dry, overcooked and bland. Our drinks were all watered-down. The chicken parm was very good and the ambiance is pretty because of the view, i will give them that. We ordered seared tuna, calamari, and ravioli for appetizers... and all were sub par. There are so many great restaurants in this area, but sadly this is no longer one of the good ones. I have drivin past this place countless times...we finally had a chance to go and thought that it was good. It's really an Italian restaurant, which is nice looking, overlooking the water, could pass for a ski lodge. The food is fair to good - a little higher than 3 stars. Unfortunately the sauces are kind of bland, especially the special - de Pesci, which was heavy on the mussels and salmon and overcooked- only 2 shrimp wtf. Too expensive for what it was. Haven't been to Edgewater since pre-pandemic (March of 2020) and was excited to go back. It was one of our staple go to restaurants in the Hamptons because it was reasonably priced (for the hamptons) for good food. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same experience. First let me say, I was surprised when there was no wait at 7pm on a friday night. I can't remember a time when I went to Edgewater and there wasn't a wait (except when I went there for brunch). THE COCKTAIL. Ordered my usual cocktail - berry naughty martini - unfortunately it was too sweet. Asked for another (less sweet) Just wasnt the same. THE MENU. My husband actually preferred the paired down menu. Although, he was disappointed that some of his favorite items were missing. Ex: instead of the orreccetti with broccoli rabe and sausage it was changed to rigatoni. The place paired down the menu to serve only 2 types of pasta - rigatoni and linguini. Instead of gnocci bolongnaise, its rigatoni bolongnaise. THE FOOD. We were disappointed when there was no garlic knots for the table. But understood they were pairing down when we saw the menu. We ordered the fried calamari and crab cake for the table. The calamari was delicious and crsipy. The crab cake was wet but tasty. For entrees, I had the Frutti di Mare - it was tasteless. It needed more seasoning of any kind and didn't like the puddle of liquid at the bottom of the plate. The pasta was cooked well and so was the seafood, but the red water they called marinara ruined the dish. My husband ordered the Veal Milanese, an item we've never seen before on the menu. It was okay, but the salad could have been better dress and it could have used more seasoning. The Chicken Parm with linguinette, one of my favorite dishes (or it use to be). The portion was tiny, the single piece of chicken was pounded paper thin and the only seasoning used was parmigian (for both the chicken and the pasta). The branzino (special) was good (could have used a little salt which we added with the table salt). I'm not sure if they ran out of spices in the kitchen but overall the food was bland. THE SERVICE. Always good and friendly. That hasn't changed. IN SUMMARY...the menu has been paired down, the food and drinks has changed for the worse (the prices have gone up) but the view was still the same. Now, I understand why there was no wait for a table on a friday night. My husband said he would like to go back and give the place another try because it was a tried and true place to dine, but i'm not as hopeful. 2-stars for the staff and view. read more

First time we went was during busy season, middle of August. We were seated promptly, in a table we chose, outside in the corner, everybody was so nice and cordial. Food was amazing, had the lobster ravioli and the seafood risotto. Almost as good as the risotto we had in Venice. We were so impressed by everything that we decided that Edgewater might be our favorite Hampton restaurant. That was why, when we had an occasion to celebrate we decided to go back. Now off season, the expiriwnce was definitely not the same. It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't good either. The waiter barely came by, and the food was just ok. We got the lobster ravioli that we loved so much last time and it just wasn't good. Not sure why, it was just tasteless. It definitely made a dent in our celebratory mood This last visit didn't turn off from the restaurant, we are certainly going to give it another try at some point. We were enjoying a little getaway in the Hamptons and were looking for a place for dinner. We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were seated on the front deck, which had a spectacular view of the water . Our server was pleasant but a bit slow with refills. The food was as good as the view :) We started with the Bruschetta, the Meatballs with Burrata, and the Pistachio Gnocchetti which blew me away! Dinner was also very tasty.. Almost 2 years since our last visit here. We were on the outside deck facing the bay 80 degrees and 33 % humidity. I had the very good crab bisque soup and the stuffed flounder. Service was ok. Came here last night for a friends bachelorette party with a party of 14. The restaurant had our table ready right away which was great for a Saturday in the Hamptons. There is also ample parking in a lot and on the street. Our waitress was very good and even made suggestions for us to go out in town. Food came out very quickly and it was hot and cooked exactly how I ordered. Portions were substantial and priced moderately. I think most people had leftovers which is always a plus. I ordered a surf and turf cooked rare. Subbed out the fingerling potatoes that they were offered with , with the truffled version without an issue. The surf and turf came with three shrimp oregenata, I felt they were slightly over cooked and over breaded but they were tasty. Steak was cooked perfectly, and it was a nice size as well. I'd definitely order it again as I'm a meat and potatoes kinda gal. I'd definitely go back here in town so I'm glad we tried it. read more

This place is mediocre (food 2.5 stars) but it was good for a pub atmosphere if some people who are visiting you are not too fancy. The problem is you can't get a hold of them. I made a reservation for six people today at 7:30 and I'm trying to be polite and call to cancel (guest stuck on L.I.E.)and no PERSON answers at 6pm? . They have a fully automated system so they don't have to speak to anybody. Losing the personal touch is losing customers. See ya ! We'll find another dive pub for less fancy guests. read more

My parents have been dying to go here for 30 years, but every time they try it is crowded to a brim. So I finally took my boyfriend there on a Sunday evening in December when there are NO tourists, NO summer traffic and best of all NOBODY was even there. Just some locals. The place has a spectacular view of the bay. The workers were all so kind. We got some wine, the drink prices weren't all that expensive. Our entrees were perfectly delicious. I was fairly impressed with this place... Used yelp while I'm out here hanging in the Hamps and wanted a good meal, edgewater came highly recommended... This place is located across from the bay but honestly i don't know about sitting outside .. There must be a good sunset at least ... Anyway, we got there at about 5 when they opened and it was already filling up. I he tried to call for reservations but they only accept if your party is 5+... Fine... Luckily, we sat right down... The decor is slightly fancy so leave your bathing suit cover ups, flip flops, and hats home... EATS...... Mmmmmm.. The crab and avocado salad was so amazing with the arugula and grape tomatoes.. I wish I ate this as my Meal and ordered the mussels bc those looked really good also.. I had the chicken florentine which I thought was just okay.. The sauce was too sweet I felt but the chicken was so tender and delicious... I was hoping for a more savory Marsala sauce bc I believe that is what was described but it was just too sweet.. The others ordered chicken parm which I mean, let's be serious... This is a fan favorite wherever you go that serves good Italian .. And a pasta dish I can't remember the name but it was like orchiette pasta with a bolognese (sausage) sauce and peas, I thought it tasted very strong of basil but the others didn't think so, so maybe it was just me... The food was very good, presentation was nice and the staff were all equally polite and attentive as they should be... This is a cute place on the main road right accross from the water.. you sit up on the second story of this restaurant and along the window... or outside weather permitting along the front deck to see across the street to the water.
