I have sent five arrangements from the Edible Arrangements location in Hamden, Connecticut, for family and friends, for birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas, and during bereavement. I have ordered the indulgence platter, which is an excellent gift to send because it includes a wonderful variety of chocolate-dipped and non-chocolate-dipped fruit, including strawberries, pineapple, apples, and grapes. All orders were placed for same-day delivery, and everyone received them on time. I added the floral arrangement in the vase on a Sunday for a family member who turned 95, and she loved the indulgence platter along with the floral bouquet. I needed to send a birthday gift on a Sunday when most florists are closed, and I called the Hamden location for same-day delivery. Our family members were incredibly happy with everything, especially the bouquet of flowers! My platter definitely did not meet the standards I've become accustomed to from this franchise. Some berries weren't ripe and the chocolate dip was inconsistent. I asked for some strawberries to be replaced. Not sure what they did but it wasn't good. I'm now so mad at myself for taking it and asking for a refund. I told them I would call Corporate Customer Service and I was sure that they would "fix" it. Well, I was so wrong. I was told, let's call the store and see what they are willing to do. I told them I am expecting a partial refund or some replacement strawberries. I offered to send pictures to back up my claim. The store came back with 15% off my next order. I told Corporate this was absolutely unacceptable and it should be for them too. I will not be a repeat customer to this location and maybe not the Company again. I said you charge premium prices for a premium product and I got crappy fruit. I was told by the store, it's not strawberry season. I am beyond disappointed. But they had the nerve to send me a link to review them on Google and I made sure I told them I will review on Yelp, Facebook and Twitter. Good customer service goes a long way. I wish there was a lower rating than 1. The service was shameful. They completely screwed up my order but that was just the beginning. I tried calling and left a voicemail during regular hours since no one picked up the phone. I also left message with supposed customer service and got email back that the manager would contact me. They never did. Called 2 days later and the rep that answered the phone didn't even know the name of her manager. She assured me he would call back but he never did. The local website where you can leave reviews specifically states you cannot leave a review on service just the product. That says it all. They should be ashamed. Avoid this establishment! This is the second time I have ordered from this specific store, and BOTH times they messed up the order. The first time, last year, they didn't have all of the order ready, and gave me nuts that were LONG past the "discard by" date (pun intended), almost a year past it. The nuts were rancid. I had to drive in to get the new nuts and the other item (they wouldn't deliver it)- so I had to take time off of MY job to do this- for something I paid for, extra for delivery. Ok, so mistakes happen- I gave them another chance. The second time, they delivered the cheesecake fairly smushed looking pretty bad, and didn't even bother to deliver the flowers I had ordered. No communication, email, nothing. The delivery person for the current second order (she was very nice) figured that the flowers were in a different delivery, and should be delivered sometime during the rest of the day. One thing to note is that I did not do two separate orders. I did one order. It's now 9:30 PM, I just got home from work, I was expecting my special someone to have some flowers, but no. $136.00...it will take a LOT for them to convince me to ever use them again. This was entirely sub-par product and execution of the order (not talking about the Delivery person, though). Just being honest. UPDATE: To be clear this was the HAMDEN CT store on Dixwell Ave close to exit 60 off the Merit parkway. It took several phone calls to deal with this, and by the third call I just gave up, and told them to refund the flower order, I wash my hands of them forever. Never again. read more

The store was impeccably clean which I appreciated. I placed my order and had to wait in the car as that's their new process. She let me know that all she had to do was put the chocolate on the fruit (I got the $5.99 cup). It took over 30 minutes for me to get my order. I didn't even get an apology for the delay. The customer service across all E.A's that I've been to in CT is awful. They need etiquette and customer service training. read more

The customer service at this location is horrible. I ordered a mini chocolate dipped indulgence platter for my granddaughter. It was delivered promptly and she was super excited. Unfortunately after eating some fruit she got sick with diarrhea and throwing up. I reached out to the store manager to let him know what transpired. He immediately became defensive and saying that the fruit was fresh and no one else had issues. The manager was very rude and insisted on talking over me. He showed no empathy of my grand daughter getting sick behind the fruit that I purchased from the 1920 Dixwell Ave. Hamden, CT 06514 location. Worst experience EVER. Do not order from Hamden. I ordered 12 balloons and three pieces of chocolate covered fruit as a gift. They did not deliver any balloons!!! The manager argued with me when I insisted she refund the entire order. She argued that I didn't contact them to let them know right away. I did not find out until 10pm that night of their incorrect delivery. I called all the next day but they were closed due to the blizzard which incidentally is not my fault. I emailed Edible Arrangements and was told I would be contacted Friday. I had to call again Friday as no one from Hamden reached out. Their website has a "certified happiness policy." What a joke. Just read the other reviews below! This place deserves no stars. My mother sent me an $63 arrangement for my birthday. This is how the fruit looked in the pics below. The strawberries were all rotted each cup has liquid floating in it. When my mother called the store the person that answered the phone told her these exact words "that's not my problem you should've brought it back the same day." She asked for a refund, he told her "my fruit is made fresh every day she lives 10 minutes away she should've just brought it back." I guess it didn't matter that my mother had to pay the money for it to be delivered and I guess I should've been inconvenienced to bring this crap back to his store on my birthday and scrap my plans. He also said he hasn't had any complaints in 2 to 3 months that just speaks volumes to the integrity of this company. I have never dealt with a company so unprofessional to not even fix this disgusting fruit that was delivered to me. He never offered any resolution. I called the store myself I just cannot believe that he said that to my mom and low and behold she was right. Whenever I call I'm never rushed, my questions are always answered, and options are frequently offered. Same day delivery is never a problem! Recently we had a "bouquet" delivered to our office from Edible Arrangements in Hamden. It was good fruit while it lasted - and a good alternative to a cake or just flowers that will die and be forgotten. Its fruit, not much they can really do wrong with it! It is **pricey** though. If you don't know about Edible Arrangements - its a franchise that i think started here in CT and is popping up all over the world now - they sell you a big fancy basket of fruit cut up to look like flowers. overall you get about $8 worth of fruit, some dipped in chocolate - and i think that will run you $40+. read more

Always a wonderful present, to give and to receive. Balloons, cards, and an amazing visual. The fruit is a slice of heaven, and their gourmet chocolate can't be beat. Even just stopping in for a thank-you card, they tempt you with a fresh fruit sundae! Fruit topped with rich, creamy chocolate and whipped cream is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I recently ordered online via the web banner offering a dozen chocolate covered strawberries free with the purchase of $50 or more. I arrived to pick up my order (which looked NOTHING like the image on the website) and asked about my promotional dozen strawberries. I was informed that I never requested them during the checkout process. I explained that I was never asked to request the promo when checking out and I even went through the website purchase steps with them showing at no time was there anywhere for me to confirm I wanted the promotional offer. The girl at the counter explained that this was not the first time this had happened and contacted the manager. He said (through the front of house sales person... He wouldn't even talk to me himself) that it was not his fault and that if I wanted the strawberries, I could buy them. I wrote to the Edible Arrangements corporate office to inform them of my dissatisfaction, only to receive an email back from them, saying that they forwarded the letter (reference # 0896697) to the manager of the store where I made my purchase and that he would respond within 48 hours if he felt it warranted a response. Never heard another word!! Whatever about the difference between the website image and the actual item I received (I can deal with that), but their handling of their customer's complaints and what appears to be their use of "click bait" promo's, leaves a lot to be desired. We recently had a death in our family and received 4 different edible arrangements, from several locations. The consistent characteristic was that the fruit was lousy. We eat a lot of fruit in our household (mostly melon), which is why our very thoughtful friends chose this gift. However, knowing how much is charged for these arrangement, due to my buying them for others in the past, I am shocked that Edible Arrangements has the nerve to charge high prices for lower grade fruit. All of our melon seemed old and not at all sweet. Again, these came from multiple locations, so I think this problem exists at the franchise level. When I was working at a certain bank we used to have regular deliveries of strawberries and chocolate covered strawberries and fruit bouquets and good lord was everything fabulous! I've never been to this location, however my boyfriend regularly shows up as they're closing and they always help him out. They should tell him to kick rocks and come back during normal business hours, so I have to give them props for always going out of their way when they really don't have to. His heart is in the right place (bringing me chocolate covered strawberries all the time for no reason), but he's a jerk for showing up at 6:59.
