Thursday at 9pm is Trivia Night! I love me them trivia nights. This place is a cozy relaxed pub with friendly service and a great beer selection. It's definitely a local hang out and it feels that way. The pizza, which you can purchase through a small window, is maybe the worst ever. The cheese is rubbery and looks like they dip the whole slice in a bowl of that radioactive translucent orange grease. Bad pizza aside, the place it's self is a fun time for all. Fun, 'down to earth' pub with an amazing array of bottled beer and great selection on tap as well. The bar staff are friendly too. It is a block from my friend Rance's gallery, which is super rad and always has some freaky art show or bands playing. Last time I was at Edison's was Halloween and there was a guy in one of those pink bunny outfits. Also, there's a band that apparently plays every all Hallows Eve and they were pretty fascinating. This is one of those joints that you either love or hate. It is a bar with a pizza place connected (you have to go next door to order food and bring it back to the bar) that allows dogs inside. Yes, you can bring your dog inside. This slightly grosses me out, but this is a hipster-slumming kinda place. There is a great bottled beer selection, and they have decent happy hour drink prices. The food, well, that leaves a bit to be desired. I can't argue about the pizza, because it is darn tasty. The other options...not so much. On my most recent trip I tried the wings and I was served wings that were so fried that they tasted like mummified pterodactyl wings. Last visit, I had a sandwich and my bread was so dry it crumbled into oblivion when I bit into it. If you stop by after work, be prepared to get an eyeroll from the bartender. Overall, if you want to get a decent beer and you dragged your dog out for the evening, this place is for you. Otherwise, I would hit one of the many other places in Tremont. read more

On a drive circumnavigating Lake Erie November 2016, we stopped in Cleveland, in Tremont, at Edison's. And we were so very happy we did. Edison's is a fantastically warm and inviting space, friendly and kind staff, great beer and cider selection. And the pizza - wow! Totally scrumptious crust (thick and flavourful, the best of the best) and the toppings fresh and delic! 10/01/14 I've had more pleasant experiences. This place is a dive. It tries so hard to be hipster, but fails. Just because you have a wire bicycle on the wall with Christmas lights hanging from it and a few PBR signs, doesn't mean you are cool and hip and don't need to, oh, I don't know, maybe provide a good product/service? The front bar was the best room, but tiny. The hall leading to the pool table room is lined with wooden seating booths...which had dirty upholstered seats. It reeked of urine, or a urine-like smell. The walls were dirty, had holes and half the artwork looked like it was ripped from the wall. There was no menu presented, except for a draft menu, and I didn't see any waitstaff. The back room had more seating, and a pool table. Patio was the nicest feature. The bartender was exceptionally rude and really put a damper on things. She is short, brown hair. Several people around me also noticed she was just not happy to be there-she gave a lot of attitude and eye-rolling. I asked her to mix me a specific drink (listing the ingredients) and she made a face and said "yeah, ooookay." Wow. Our party only ordered one drink each because she was so nasty acting. Even opening a bottle or pouring a Jackie O's was taxing for her. I tipped her anyway, hoping her mood would improve, but she snatched it up and didn't even say thanks (and I hadn't even picked up my drink-a concoction she made up because they have a piss-poor bar and were out of rum. For once I thanked the bar gods for the copious amount of ice in my glass, which watered down what I can only describe as liquid hate mixed with battery acid and lemon juice.) I very rarely give one stars. Our group did make a note to never return to this dump! The one star it does get is only because I saw another Yelper there, with her cute doggie. read more

I love everything about this place. Everything. Although it's a little bit of a hipster haven, it still feels completely comfortable. The main bar is great... and it displays their extensive bottled beer options (118 as of the last time I was there). And - they also have a beer club. Drink 100 different beers, in as long of a time period as you want... you are rewarded with fame (name on a plaque), a personal beer glass (engraved I believe) and a sweatshirt. Yes... I'm working on this drinking task at the moment. The bartenders are great. Very personable, don't put up with bullshit, and can definitely give advice as to a great beer. I think the price is on target for the neighborhood, it's not a super cheap place, but I also don't think it it crazy expensive. Dogs are allowed in the bar and on the patio. I think it adds to the charm... but don't worry - they won't be there on a Friday/Saturday night. There are some dart boards, and a pool table. The hallway is lined with local rotating artwork. The Patio is beautiful... and the perfect place to hang out with friends. The pub is connected to the pizza kitchen... and the pizza is delcious. While you can buy it by the slice, consider buying a whole pizza... and sharing it with those around you! I usually stick to the cheese (clearly delicous), as I found the buffalo chicken to be way too spicy for this chick. However... I happened upon the blue cheese pizza the other day... OH MY GOD... incredible. The only thing I would consider adding is bacon (and I don't even like bacon... but it just feels right for this pizza). I love the cozy atmosphere, the dark wooden interior, the local artists, the craft beer and the pizza. I love the locals... and the occasional out of towners (who then quickly leave). This place is great. Anytime. Triva = Thursday night. Friday/Saturday always has a big crowd... but my favorite experience was probably on a Sunday night. A great place indeed! read more

Another old stomping ground around the Cleve-burg for me! Granted that the entire Ohio City neighborhood has changed tremendously, I still find my "home" at Edison's. The crowd is a little more square than I remember, and the past few times I've been, the local bands have been trivial. However, the drinks are still strong, the beer selection is epic and the staff is cool. And the "Next Door" deli? Awesome. I have hand some amazing sandwiches and pizza from here. I give this place only four outta five is because of two things.. 1) bathroom is downstairs and when you're drunk, its kinda hard and 2) I hated their bread for the subs. Other than that, I love this place. My Bf and I moved to Cleveland two months ago and its the only bar we go to. Thursday night trivia at 9pm is the best and you can win free shit, and who doesn't love that. Plus the bartenders serve you stiff drinks and that's why I keep going every Thursday night! Take my review with a grain of salt, for I am clearly too old for this place. I recently came for trivia night. The trivia was great, as was the beer selection. It was full of more DBs than a CVS, but I guess I can't fault the place for that. I can, however, quibble about the sad baked wings and mediocre pizza. It was really, really loud too. I'm waiting for a lovely Edison's pizza and salad right now and if you usually wait to order these sorts of things until you're ready to gnaw on the expired produce in your fridge, fear not - they always over quote. Guaranteed - the mounds of bacon and pineapple on just the right amount of crust and sauce will be delicious, but I do always wonder why exactly they always quote over 30 min. if not 45 or more. Great beer selection, like really high-brow stuff at reasonable prices on down to the lowest of the low brow for cheaper prices. AWESOME!! back patio. Edison's is wonderful and even better during Cleveland's 3 months of good weather because they have a great relaxed patio in the back (and you can bring your dogs--please, bring your dogs, people. I need dog interactions). The interior is a little cramped, but that just makes it cozy when you can't enjoy the patio. Luckily, everyone is friendly here! The musicians normally end up cramped by the bar and it's a bit of a struggle to get your beer, get to the bathroom, or just get to a comfortable breathing space. The tables provide a more intimate space if you can snag one, and there are pool tables in the back. The interior is generally pretty dim and the place is full of hipsters, but not in a pretentious way. In a welcoming way! You don't have to worry about what you're wearing or what you're drinking here and that's what makes Edison's so great. ...plus popcorn. Always the popcorn. read more

After the uncomfortable booths, dingy atmosphere, and popcorn machine that looks like it hasn't been cleaned a long time, the only redeeming quality of this place is the interior side door that allows you to order from the adjoining pizza kitchen. The pizza itself, on the other hand, is pretty good (though I'll stop short of the alcohol-induced effusive praise I've heard from others). I'd describe it as topping driven, like Pepper's but with toppings that weren't as fresh. The folded edge crust has a clean taste, but not light or fluffy in any way. edison's may not have the biggest selection of bottled beers of any bar anywhere on the planet, but i'd be shocked if it didn't offer the largest selection in cleveland. i've only had the food here a couple of times and it was bar basics at that - pizza, burgers, sandwiches - but it was all pretty good. the best feature by far is the patio out back. very nice in the spring/summer/fall to hang out, tip a few back and throw some darts. they've also had live music here in the past. when i was a regular, they seemed to have it fairly frequently and it made the place loud with a capital LOUD. i don't get back frequently enough these days (being that i'm 700 miles away) to know if they still do this, but not much else has changed. read more

4.5 Stars - This review is for the bar ONLY. I am not reviewing any food here, as this is for the bar, drinks, and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time at Edison's, the clientele here was right up my ally. We talked to a few strangers and everyone was just enjoying themselves. The staff here is helpful on choosing a good beer from their extensive list, and the prices were decent. They have live jazz music which was really a great mood setting for this place. I could see myself hanging out here regularly due to the comfortable environment they have set here. I would say seating is the only problem here - and maybe the bathroom situation. But if you can get over that, you will love it here. read more

Best pizza arguably ever. Never had a bad experience. The pizza is to die for. There's always a solid 45 minute wait for take out pizza but it's worth it. Also they don't deliver so expect to pick it up. Again, worth it. Their wings are also to die for, they are baked. The bar is always fun with live music and a more casual setting. read more

A buddy took me here. Said its one of his favorite hangout places in the area. He told me they served awesome pizza next door but we had just eaten. Bar was average. One of my favorite spots to have a drink in Cleveland, especially in those 4 months that aren't winter and that back patio gets hoppin'. Edison's is small, but cozy and I always get a sense of nostalgia (for what exactly? I'm still not quite sure) and camaraderie (We're all in this together Cleveland!). Throw in fact that the pizza kitchen is attached, serving it up by the slice or pie, and that it's damn good pizza and you've got a fan for life in me. read more
