I got a Japanese bacon, egg and cheese on a twisted everything bagel and it is now one of my favorite bagels in Williamsburg. I'm going to echo the praises of the tahini oat milk cold brew, which is definitely one of the more unique beverages I've had the pleasure of trying. It's really icy and refreshing but be warned, it is still cold brew and not for the faint of heart. I enjoy the occasional cup of coffee but caffeine in cold brew gives me heart palpitations, and this drink was no exception, so I wish I had someone to share it with. Aside from the extreme caffeine high, the tahini bits throughout the drink complemented the coffee flavor really well, but I wish it had a thicker texture. I love adding tahini to dressings and cookies because it almost tastes like peanut butter, but I freezing it might change the texture. They have a machine churning these out one after another. I was ready for Edith's to be overhyped but ended up really enjoying what we ordered! The Tahini Slushie is worth trying -- it's like an oat milk latte's cooler older sister. Totkes with the special sauce were very fun and crispy and definitely a contender for my favorite variation of potato. The Sephardi wrap was pretty good too but I'd probably try something else if I came again. We came here for brunch and ordered three wraps/sandwiches to share: Sephardi Breakfast Wrap with chicken sausage, Scottsdale Breakfast Wrap with scrambled eggs and crispy shredded potato tots, and The Edith Sandwich with house-made pastrami. Every one of them was so tasty that we couldn't stop eating after we started feeling full. We also ordered the Iced Cafe Slushie as our morning coffee and really enjoyed this unique and flavorful drink. We dined at several Micheline-starred, Bib Gourmand or Michelin-guided restaurants during this visit to NYC, and we found the food at this restaurant tastier, more creative and more economical than at any of those restaurants. My go-to is the Middle Eastern sandwich, which pairs their chewy sourdough sesame bagel with a pillowy omelette, a decadent labne-esque "farmers cheese," and seasoning in the form of tomato jam and chili. It's true that the bagels are not your typical New York heavyweights, but I personally like the tanginess and bite of the sourdough. VERY disappointed with Edith's. Like, extremely disappointed. I had the BEC on a Chicago bagel, the fried halloumi sticks, and the tahini cold brew. First of all, the bagels are horrible. They're really tough and on the smaller side. I get it, it's sourdough, and it's not a traditional bagel, but don't label it as one. The halloumi was okay, a glorified mozzarella stick if anything. The cold brew was disgusting. I don't know what I expected it to taste like, but certainly not a Dunkin' coolatta. For over $9 and a tiny little drink, skip it. Look, I get what Edith's is trying to do. The ingredients are definitely quality. You can taste it. The latke on the sandwiches was good too, as were the sauces. But it just doesn't fulfill the hype. I've had Edith's on my radar for awhile and with the Carmela sandwich's last day on Sunday, I really wanted to try it. I figured I'd go for a drive in to BK and then do some errands afterwards. Of course it was one of the coldest days ever and I didn't realize that it was a small to-go place lol. I ordered my sandwich, a side order of Latkes and a Diet Coke. I had asked for extra cranberry mustard on the side and a side of special sauce (paid for both) and when I got to my car it wasn't there. It wasn't a big deal but still kind of annoying nonetheless. I took a bite of latke first and it was very good, a touch salty but crunchy. The sandwich was the star-house roasted turkey, fresh panade stuffing, creamed spinach mayo!, cranberry mustard on fresh toasted rye. The bread was so delicious, the perfect canvas for this sandwich. Everything was balanced-nothing too overwhelming and I loved the cranberry mustard on it. I absolutely loved this sandwich and I could only eat half-I saved the other for dinner the next day. The first time I went to Edith's, they got my ordered wrong, putting bacon on a wrap that was meant to be vegetarian. However, giving edith's another chance was probably the best decision i've made since coming to Brooklyn! I cant stay away for to long and visit more than I like to admit (let's just say i can get a free slushy with more more punch card). My favorite think off the menu is the Middle Eastern breakfast sandwich (i order with no cheese as a personal preference). Everyone is very friendly and I look forward to going back very soon! Literally cannot possibly imagine why Edith's isn't 5 stars, this is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Little cafe in Brooklyn with teeny tiny interior and approximately two tables out front. They're known for sandwiches and their frozen tahini coffee drink (I had just finished my coffee or I would have tried for sure). I was ready for lunch so I ordered inside and then went out to wait - total was about $20 for a sandwich and sparkling water. Service was friendly. This sandwich was beautifully executed on every level - the bread was PHENOMENAL: great chew, perfect density, good salt, slight nuttiness from sesame seeds. It didn't take up too much of the sandwich or cut up my mouth. The turkey was moist and flavorful. The pickled onions added sweetness and acidity that was amplified by the slaw - possibly the best slaw I've ever had. I would buy it in bulk. It hit all the flavor components and was so crisp and refreshing. With the creaminess of the mayo???? I'm devastated I don't live here to get it again. Me and couple of my friends decided to check this place out and have a nice and delicious breakfast based on the reviews and pictures we've seen on Yelp! The place is small and there's no seating inside but they do have few tables to sit outside. Once we ordered our food we were asked by the cashier to wait outside even tho the place was empty and it was about 20 degrees outside. It was absolutely freezing and we ended up waiting about 10 minutes for our breakfast sandwiches !!! The actual bagels are kinda of small but the flavor is good despite the high price tag for a simple bagel. I got their signature bagel sandwich the "Middle Eastern" and a 10 oz hot coffee which came out to be over $15 which is definitely too much for a bagel with coffee. The 10 oz small coffee it self is $3.75 which I think is definitely too high! I would consider coming back here and trying the other signature sandwiches in the future. read more

Im sorry but this place is so bad I would seriously question someone's judgement if they found it good. Beyond underwhelming for 50$ to have two sandwiches. Someone in that kitchen has either lost all sense of taste and smell or all motor function. This food is borderline sadistic. I would say any fast food place would have them beat. Save yourself and go to Subway. Stick to KATZ. Expensive but at least it's good and simple. This food is like play dough that they fished out of gulf oil spill and kept it in a fridge and then reheated it and asked you to pay almost 30$ each for. Chicken snitzel is just a pounded white breast with breading. No seasonings. tastes dry and bland -- couldnt even make a fried chicken sandwich properly, it was so soggy. I kid you not: disassembled this disaster of a sandwich to try the chicken on its own and confirmed there wasnt even a hint of salt or pepper in there. Flavorless bacon somehow like wow. Truly only thing I tasted was the tomato. Im sure the bread was good before they soaked it in butter, tried to griddle it (failed) and then let the butter soak through everything else though. Same themes with the Pastrami Sandwhich. It actually takes talent to stack so many ingredients and sauces just for it to taste like nothing. Spongey rubbery overbuttered bread -- tried to grill it, failed. I'm sure the bread was amazing before they decided to turn it into that greasy abomination: if you press down on the bread, the oil actually seeps out. That thick edith special sauce is a whole lot of nothing too. Top it all off with this tough brisket that theyre trying to call pastrami and you have an amazing mouthful of just flavorless slop. Even the easiest potato fritters once again fail. Over fried brown mess. Cant taste potato. Just soaked through oil and fistfuls of salt. Owner is also really catty and snarky which is crazy bc i would pipe down if I was serving overpriced slop like this -- always makes excuses or redirects things. Bad top down model bc employees are pretty terrible too. Cant set standards, cant manage kitchen, cant manage ingredients, just cant do anything but have an attitude and maybe post cute pictures. This review is strictly for their iced café slushie ($8.75) which was the only thing I tried on my last visit. I would like to return to try their egg sandwiches and latkes. The name Edith's Sandwich Counter is quite apt, as the storefront is extremely small-- this is definitely a place that specializes in takeouts. I recently came across their second location inside the Nordstrom on 57th where they sell a few of their sandwiches and their speciality slushie as well. Although I initially came to try their iced café slushie, I ended up ordering the iced mocha ($8.75) on the recommendation of the staff. It is half iced chocolate café slushie and half frozen hot chocolate, which I thought was a good choice because the chocolate and coffee was an excellent pairing. However, the tahini running through both flavors sat in my stomach for a long time-- the drink was quite thick and rich overall and not what I expected. Tasty Jewish dine-in and takeout cafe with a market. I came for lunch on Sunday. We had the chicken schnitzel and the chicken consomme / matzoh ball soup. Absolutely delicious. Get anything. The chicken schnitzel is on a buttery, crispy, soft honeyed corn bread. Highly recommend. The service was stellar. A host offered us a table that opened up during a pretty busy and booked weekend lunch rush and the entire staff was so friendly. A reservation is truly helpful for weekend brunch, but if not, try takeout. The decor is pretty detailed. There was a lovely zine at each of the tables. The aesthetic is cute though: the coffee tahini though is not different from any other coffee slushies I've had elsewhere. The tahini you cant taste and I can't figure out what the point of including it is. I had the bagel with lox and egg and cream cheese. The seasoning is really good but was a bit burnt? I don't know, maybe that's how it was supposed to be but was a bit too burnt for my tastes. The lox was also cooked though I don't know if it was supposed to be like that or not. Also, this place is like a sandwich counter takeouts - there's no seats inside. There's about 3 tables outside. The people working here are nice though. I stopped here because I am a bagel fiend lately and was trying to grab up as many bagels on my trip home from the chiropractor. EDITHS IS AMAZING unfortunately I was only able to grab two extra bagels with a side of jam and got my hands on their middle eastern sandwich. They have limits if you are only purchasing naked bagels (they sell big and fast on these sandwiches). Their bagel style is fantastic because it's thinner than a deli style and packed full of taste. I will be back for the BEC. Go early because they sell quickly and there are also people picking up to go and delivery orders. Sold out of hot cider. Staff is overwhelming pleasant and efficient. It really didn't have a lot of tomato on it, but overall had way less filling than advertised on Doordash or IG.... I had the Edith sandwich and got some rugaleach and black and white cookie and pumpkin pie hamentaschen to try. I liked everything. The Edith sandwich was hot, the pastrami brisket was on point and the sauerkraut and cheese and sauce tied it together. The homemade toasted bread was amazing as well. I had both chocolate and fruit rugaleach both were delicious, not the most traditional dough but it tasted great. I don't know much about Edith's except that pastry chef Caroline Schiff is currently in charge of the food and they are popping up out of Paulie Gee's from Thursday - Sunday, 9am - 2pm. Other than that, the website doesn't exist, and old tags point to an "@edithschi" instead of "@edithsbk" on Instagram. All that matters though is that Schiff always makes amazing food wherever she is baking, so you should get here, and early, to try as much as possible. We luckily got there today around 11:30 before they sold out of everything by 12:30. Most of the menu is the wood-fired bagels and the sandwiches on them, but there are also some baked goods. The bakery section was all gone except for the Chocolate Sesame Twist with Tahini Glaze ($3.75), which was excellent, and makes me want to get back ASAP for the Shakshuka Morning Bun and Honey Baharat Schnecken. The sandwiches were both a must try - the BEC&L ($10.75) (L is for a perfectly crispy latke) and the Paulie Gee's Pizza Bagel ($10.50), which rotates weekly and today was a Kale Pesto masterpiece. Edith's is serving hand-made Jewish food from a wood-fired oven that is open every Thursday-Sunday from 9AM-2PM (or when items run out) until October 2020. Founder, Elyssa Heller, is honoring her Great Aunt Edith's Brooklyn deli from the 1950s. Caroline Schiff is a pastry chef, who is working together with Heller. We got there around 8:40 AM today and there were about 15 people on the line. At 9:00AM, the line was down the block by Franklin. We reached the front around 9:25AM and got our food around 9:50AM. I ordered: NY Classic on Chicago - smoked salmon - My parent liked this one which I am surprised since it has cream cheese. It has a nice balance of tomatoes, shallot, and lettuce though the bagel broke apart in me while holding it. ($11.50). Be aware, there is something spicy like peppercorn which gives it a kick. Edith & Paulie Gee - weekly special Pizza bagel - prosciutto, mozzarella and basil. ($10.50). The bagel is a bit chewy though keep in mind it's hand-rolled. Shakshuka Morning Bun ($8.25) - this sauce is a bit spicy. Salted Caramel Challah Knots - the caramelized top is a bit too sweet for me though my parent liked it. ($3.75) Passionfruit Gazoz - is a refreshing drink with seasonal fruits and herbs. Very fancy with lavender and mint decoration. If you take to go, don't forget to ask for a lid. The straws can be plastic or paper. ($6.25). PS: You can add some alcohol with coffee, juice, and passionfruit. If you are in the neighborhood, give it a try. read more

Came here around 12:30 on a Sunday and there were about 5-6 groups in front of us. We mistakenly went to Pauline Gs slice shop first but then got redirected to their original location. As we were waiting in line we heard one of the servers come out and announce there were only 11 bagels left, so we weren't sure if we would make the cut but a few moments later we were able to put in our order, the NY classic (4.5/5) and the Trout (4/5) on the only two types of bagels they had left - salt and sesame. We went to the park to eat. Overall the bagels were good, but we could tell that they were the last ones of the day as they were a little chewy and tough to bite into. I liked the lox a lot and preferred the NY classic, the flavors were very fresh. I surprisingly preferred the salt bagel over the sesame (not usually the case). My advice would be to go early so you get everything fresh. read more

I ordered for delivery on a Saturday morning, even during peak business hours my order was to me within an hour. I had a cold brew, the BEC&L on a sesame bagel, strawberry sumac hamentaschen, and halva maamoul cookies. The BEC&L was delicious. A chewy, buttered, fresh bagel. The bagel reminded me of a Jerusalem bagel with it's delicious chew. The eggs were plentiful and fluffy, the bacon and cheese portion proportionate, and the latke. The latke was thick, prefectly cooked, and crispy on the outside. I also added their included side of house made remoulade on my sandwich and it was a delightful addition. Went to the pop up in Nordstrom with good expectations and left pretty disappointed. The Edith sandwich was very expensive ($24) and was pretty terrible. I tried to enjoy it but couldn't. Maybe someone else likes it but it just wasn't for me. Edith's BK is a small pop-up Jewish Deli of sorts with a twist which is located at Paulie Gee's, (not the slice shop). Their hours are Thursday thru Sunday, opening at 9am. Be prepared to wait... I was in line for an hour on a rainy Sunday - so those raindrops aren't keeping many people away, nor speeding up the line. Waited about 45 minutes in line and an additional 15 minutes once the order was placed. But, that's the price you pay for some good, coveted, NYC grub - I'm here for it. Ordered the NY Classic - house smoked sustainable salmon, heirloom tomato, pickled shallot, arugula & house cultured cream cheese on a Chicago style bagel. The bagel is Edith's version of an everything bagel with similar spices with an addition of a very tiny hint of spice. Very good and had nice flavor - their salmon was fresh with nice texture - the heirloom tomato was lovely! A couple of things to note: *sold out of all pasteries around 10:45am *sold out of latkes around 10:15am *the food is very good, but don't go expecting traditional Jewish fare - expect a twist on the traditional *get there early - once they run out of food for the day, that's it *outdoor seating (with umbrella's) out front, consisting of about 10 seats As Edith's is rather new to the game, I got the impression that they're trying their best to keep up with demand and adjust accordingly.
