Sadly for the first time ever I had a terrible experience at Ted's and that means any of the Ted's we've been to My wife and I came in at 11:30 today June 2, 2026. After being seated, we waited at least 10 minutes before our server came. She took our order for drinks and supposedly left to get an answer to our question about food availability and brought my wife's drink a few minutes later. The server left to stand and talk with the bartender/hostess and another customer that came in after us. They stood there talking with the new customer for another 10 to 15 minutes. If I can give this a negative 10 I absolutely would. We got appetizers but outside of the appetizer we did not eat any food given to clear health violations by their managers. It was not busy when we went in got there at 615. Did not order anything special, everything in the menu.once seated the waiter came up and took drinks and brought them back. 20 min or more later we get a new waitress who now takes our food order. We got the appetizer within a normal range from the time the order was taken. We then sat for another 40 min or more waiting for food. In this time I watched the towel being used to clean the plates be used to clean the tables and booths, we spilled our drink and nobody noticed and we cleaned it up ourself. The manager never changed his gloves and I watched him put his hands in his pants pocket with the gloves on. I watched him move food from one plate to another plate instead of remaking the plate the final straw was when our food was coming out it took 3 managers to look At the hamburgers and one of them (the male with curly hair) grabbed the bun from the hamburger to check it. When we told the manager delivering the food he acted stunned at what I saw and agreed that they were not busy but they needed to make sure the food was correct. We ended up leaving. I am sad because I was looking forward to the bison brisket. Two of the meals of our four sat under heat plates for 10+min before the other 2 meals (hamburgers) were ready. We live going to this place the bison burgers are amazing. We love going to get the seasonal deserts. This time I was a little disappointing. We got Thw strawberry shortcake but the size of it was about half of what we got in previous years. It usually comes with whip cream but this time there was no whip cream. read more

Wanted a quick bite before heading out for the night. My husband and I stopped in here since it was near our hotel. I got the shrimp appetizer and broccoli. My husband got a bowl of chili and some fries. The server brought us some pickles to start. They were freshly made and tasty. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned well!! The broccoli was ok. It appeared to have been baked with cheese on top. There was no additionally seasoning on the broccoli. Luckily the shrimp had plenty of seasoning to balance out my meal. My husband enjoyed his chili. His fries were really good too. I noticed most guest ordered their juicy burgers. Definitely would recommend trying one of their bison dishes read more

Ted's has the feel of a traditional steakhouse - plenty of dark wood, booths, etc - even though it's located in a strip shopping center. The food was very good! We tried the bison steaks and enjoyed them, even though I would choose beef next time instead for better fat content and marbling - and therefore, flavor! The sides were excellent and very good complements to the entrees. And the service was best of all - professional but friendly, attentive, welcoming. We had a great experience and will come back again when we're in the Vanderbilt area. read more

We stopped here for our usual Nashville burger. I love the pickles. They bring them out when seated. I ordered my usual beef burger with American and Swiss cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. Finally went to Ted's Montana Grill last night and I don't know why I waited so long! I love that they have a parking lot directly in front so you don't even have to think about parking. That makes it extra convenient in Nashville! We started with the jalapeño margarita which wasn't very spicy but was so flavorful! I had to order a second. We got the onion rings for an appetizer which are served with their amazing horseradish. The onion rings were delicious and you could tell they were fresh. They were also HUGE! For our mains, we split the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and a bison burger. The hot chicken sandwich was incredible! It was my favorite - by far. Very crispy, great flavor, a lot of heat with a hint of sweetness! The bison burger was also amazing and cooked perfectly. It was my first time having bison and I loved it! We ended our meal with the brownie which was very rich, we couldn't finish it all. It's a great option to share with the table though because it is delicious! Our service was amazing. Ricky was our server and he was fantastic! He told us about the history of the restaurant, the health benefits of bison, and helped us pick our dishes. He was a great server! Ted's Montana Grill was a memorable visit today. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mushroom bison burger and fresh cut fries, which were done to perfection. It's always nice to learn a little about the history of places we seak out, and Chrissy( the manager) shared a lot with me. It's owned by Ted Turner, who happens to be one of the largest land owners in the country, takes great pride in raising his bison and beef in a very humane manner. You can tell by the tenderness of his meat. Also, their meat is cut on a daily basis, and the make all their own sauces from scratch right on premise. They have a very loyal following and it shows. Take the time to visit this place, and see for yourself what good food tastes like. read more

I am pretty disappointed. I used to eat at Ted's all the time. Haven't been there in a while. Just like all other food, the prices have sky rocketed, but that's not what was disappointing. The food took forever and was cold. The ribeye was exceedingly small and the carrots weren't sweet carrots. They were undercooked sliced carrots that actually tasted kind of 'old' for lack of a better word. When French fries get cold, they get hard. The waitress told me she had just started there so I'm glad I didn't get her name because I hate to criticize a newbie. She was friendly enough, but the long wait and the cold food is something that should be trained on before putting anyone out on the floor especially when there really was hardly anyone else there. read more

I always eat well at Teds. The restaurant was packed on a sunday evening with a wait so I kindly requested the bar. I was promptly greeted and asked what I would like to start with. I can't speak on the drink selection as I only ordered water but the bartender kept my drink filled. I was able to watch the basketball game and the bartender even switched the TV over to the Sunday night football game after. I ordered the salmon with broccoli and carrots. Delicious dish but I would recommend going lighter on the butter. I was still pleased with my choice although I usually get their bison steak. I recommend that as well. I did order the fresh cookie and ice cream for dessert; however, I quickly learned the cookie was not so fresh and hard as a rock. The bartender took notice of my frustrations and was willing to bake another cookie fresh. The second cookie came out nice and warm and was a perfect compliment for the ice cream and fudge. We were in Nashville with friends and after a day at distilleries, we were in the mood for steaks. We were casually dressed and wanted something that was on the casual side. After we researched several places we decided on Ted's Montana Grill. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack! This restaurant was fantastic! We were seated as soon as we entered and we're fortunate to be seated at Micah's table. Micah was very engaging, personable, patient and friendly. He eagerly answered all our questions. Micah made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. My wife and I shared a rib eye steak with garlic mashed and brussels sprouts. It didn't take to long for our dinner to come out. To our surprise, the steak was evenly cut for us and cooked to perfection. Micah provided us with an extra plate and we shared a meal that hit the spot. I asked Micah if the manager was available. Within a short time Crissy came over to our table. We complimented her on her staff and Micah. It's unfortunate that Ted's Montana isn't in San Diego! read more

Had the Bison Delmonico Ribeye, cooked medium. It was one of the most flavorful, most tender steaks I've ever eaten. Melted in my mouth. Cooked perfectly. It had a melted butter sauce on it that made it outstanding. For sides I had onion rings and fries. Excellent. My guest had a bison cheeseburger, cooked medium, fries & onion ring combo. The salmon was delicious as was the chicken itself, however the garlic mashed potatoes were chunky, not creamy, and the recommended gravy tasted very bbq-y. This is 3.5 star review. First, we when arrived tonight at 7pm there was no hostess. Another couple was waiting and I could tell they were frustrated. It took about 10 mins before someone to come up and help us. We had a reservation at 7:30pm - but they were very gracious to seat us early. The restaurant was busy and several tables I could tell had not been cleaned. My wife had the bison salad and I had the cedar plank salmon. Bison was tough - but my salmon was really good! I had a wedge salad before my meal and it was just average. Another person in our party had the bison burger and they loved it! Our waiter was really nice - but must have been new. He needed a little training as he had never heard of hot tea. He did bring me some tonight. He also needs some training on being more efficient at waiting on tables. He did take care of us! The atmosphere here at Ted's is nice. Prices are not bad. This was our first time at a Ted's - overall a nice place - but I just don't have a craving for going back. read more

First, when you go to eat ask for "Pap" as your server. He was absolutely a great server and hilarious. The meal starts with a complimentary bowl of homemade pickles. We ordered some homemade chips for our appetizer (Not the healthiest choice but...) and they were delicious. The came with some sort of dip that was great as well. Dinner. One meatloaf with garlic mashed potato's and carrots. Rave reviews from the eater. There was enough to share and out table of four all loved it. Another person ordered fish which I tried and it was great. Two of us ordered a bison burger. Both burgers were delicious. My recommendation to all bison burger ordered: Get burger medium as bison can get dry if cooked too much. I think the warning goes something like this: Consuming raw or undercooked meat may increase may increase your chance of a food-borne illness. Check menu for exact lingo. Also dessert. Drop biscuit with strawberry sauce. Yum. Second dessert was cheesecake. Cheesecake is what it is. Hand spun malt which was a five. I recommend highly. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked right and portion was just right too. From keeping our sweet tea and pickles topped off to giving us awesome recommendations, she's a blast. Upon receiving our meals I commented on portion size, her response was epic "if you leave here hungry you ought to reevaluate your eating habits". If I could give a 4.5, that's what I'd do. For us it seemed a bit pricey, but that could be all of Nashville. Three tasty bison burgers (that came with soggy fries) and three waters was just over $50. This could have been influenced by this restaurant's location being so close to Centennial Park, the Parthenon, and Vanderbilt, and thus in a touristy, University area. The ambiance was quite good for a strip mall restaurant, because of the extreme attention to interior decor, down to the ice cream parlor-style chairs, which felt very authentically from the West (to us Easterners.) It got nice light at the front, toward evening. The bathroom was styled with an old-timey crank towel dispenser and Borax powdered hand soap. It was very clean. Our server was polite, attentive, and speedy. The music was fitting with the theme of the restaurant and was at the perfect level for listening but also for hearing each other in conversation. The bar looked appealing for hanging out after work. I thought the bar TV was a little out of character for the styling, but perhaps that's a practical issue. They were showing college wrestling while we were there. We were suggested to try this restaurant by a friend who grew up in Nashville and knows it very well, who assured us we'd be fine going there in jeans and athletic clothing. At 5pm, that was true, but as we watched patrons arrive after us, they were definitely dressed fairly nicely. Our friend said we'd like the bison burgers, and we did; I ordered the "naked" bison burger on purpose so I could truly taste the burger, and it was flavorful and not dry. My friend said this restaurant does not have freezers, so everything is fresh; I don't know that for a fact but the burgers seemed fresh. As I said, the fries were limp and not really seasoned, so not sure on that point, but they weren't great. The other things on the menu looked like they might be wonderful, but we weren't interested in a long dinner since we needed to hit the road, and weren't looking for an expensive family dinner with wine, bison steaks, etc. But, if we were, I'd go there for that. I'd say you could rack up quite a bill, but you also might enjoy it. One thing we did think was a great way to encourage families to bring the kids: kids 12 and under could get a slider-sized beef or bison burger and fries, and a drink, for just $6.50 or $8.50, or other legit entree foods, for reasonable prices. Overall, it wasn't an outstanding meal or experience, especially for the price, but it was a very solid one. It met my need to try something more unusual while visiting, and met my family's need for making sure they'd like what they ordered. read more

While it appears to have been quite some time since the ambiance at Ted's Montana Grill was updated--it is honestly very dated, and a refresh is probably ten years past due--the place is clean and well-dusted, which is more than I can say for many places of the same apparent age. Now onto the food, and why this place earned a five-star review despite its dated motif--the food is excellent. My wife and I shared the brick chicken. Now, I know what you're thinking: what is so great about chicken, especially in Nashville, known for its great chicken? However, this chicken wasn't fried but cooked and seasoned to perfection. It is hard to cook chicken breast so well that even after it has been on the plate for several minutes, not a single bite tasted dry. My kids both had the burgers--one was buffalo, and one was beef. Both were excellent, juicy without being greasy. The service was also excellent. Our waitress was attentive, and our food was brought out hot and fresh. I really hope people give this place a chance. While it may not look great from the outside and is probably geared toward an older crowd, the food is worth it. Highly recommended for a delicious and satisfying meal! read more

This place was highly recommended from a co-worker. I was surprised at the upper-class theme/decor. Beautiful bar, staff was friendly, and the menu had several bison options. I split the bison brisket and short ribs with my father who was in town visiting. Both were good. The mashed potatoes were shockingly extremely good, they just caught me off guard. My step-mom had one of the burgers with a side of broccoli and it was the largest side of broccoli I have ever seen. The restrooms were very clean as was the restaurant overall. In the world of national chain restaurants, this is definitely something different. Good spot for a date night if your date is a meat eater. If you have never been, I recommend this place as something different. Look at the menu before you come, I like it but perhaps this place is not for everyone. read more
