The Chill Lo Fi Beats music is so atmospheric and relaxing and the cozy intimate dining area makes for such a calming experience. I haven't done All You Can Eat sushi a while. This is a fairly decent spot in Long Island. This place includes dessert too, which is nice. My advice is to select how many pieces of sushi you want (instead of ordering rolls which by default come in 7 pieces) and stay away from rice heavy stuff because that will get you full really easy. Take advantage of that sashimi! That's where you'll get your bang for the buck with AYCE sushi spots. I for the most part enjoyed everything I ordered but some of the stuff that were meh were the following: Black pepper tuna-literally black pepper in tuna. Nothing special there and the taste of ground black pepper really hits your tongue BBQ squid- I didn't like how they did this one. It's very rubbery, which I know is the nature of squid but I've seen other places do it better. Rock shrimp- nothing special. Very heavy dish too Interns of ordering, you will be given two sheets of paper where you will write down the quantity next to each of the items. I liked the other AYCE sushi place I've been to, which was in Manhattan because they used iPads to keep track of everything. It also included pictures, which really helped if you don't know what these items are. However, this place will do. FYI according to my friend that was having dinner with me, be mindful of The quantity of food you're selecting. They tend to not always bring out the same amount of food or even some of the items at times and since you're probably going wild with all the items you can't keep track either. Not a big deal since they'll give it to you if you remind them. As for dessert, I never had Oreo fried Icecream before, so I decided to try that. I really like it! It's Oreo cookies deep fried in tempura. It doesn't sound pleasing but it actually is. Dip it in whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, and Mmm mmm good! In terms of social distancing, we did eat indoors and I can assure you there wasn't 6 feet distance between the tables. I think Long Island is becoming laxed with the rules but I'm not sure. I went after 4:30 pm and it was not crowded at all. But if you are very cautious, I would try to avoid it after 7, since I see that it gets pretty crowded. read more

We were misled into thinking it was an All You Can Eat (AYCE) sushi joint by some of the posts on here, but we stayed because we were starving. It was quite busy for a Monday so it gave us the impression that the food must be good. Indeed, it was pretty decent. At the very least, the fish was fresh and the combinations in some of the rolls were fun and unique. The service was excellent! The hostess/waitress was charming and attentive. She also took care of all the tables in the restaurant, which was impressive, and seemed to have a good rapport with all the locals. My only complaint was that there is way too much crunch (aka filler) in the rolls. It was so filled that you can barely taste the fish, but on the redeeming end, everything was well dressed. The rolls were drenched in sauce and spicy Mayo like many Japanese restaurants. The price here is comparable to neighboring places, but if I'm going to be honest, nothing here was to write home about. It's better than your average Japanese restaurant, but with so many to choose from nowadays this is not somewhere I'd make a special trip to. If I were in the neighborhood, I may stop by again. read more

AYCE sushi is reasonably priced at just under $30. They have a large selection of appetizers which are very tasty and fun to try. The actual sushi menu also includes some sashimi options. The quality of the fish itself was just okay, not overflowing in freshness but about the level I'd expect for an AYCE place. I work around the Hempstead area so the food options are pretty limited. They deliver with a $20 minimum. Their lunch specials are the typical teriyaki Bento boxes OR choice of 2 rolls for $9 that comes with soup or salad I got the "spicy salmon" and "salmon and avocado". The salmon didn't really have a bad fishy smell, so that was good. But for spicy salmon, it was literally a slice of salmon and the "crunch"/aka tempura flakes....? After reading many reviews on various sushi places in West Hempstead (thanks, Yelpers!), my family and I decided to dine at Sushi Palace for dinner last night. It looks unimpressive on the outside, but inside is a small, clean quaint sushi joint. We were greeted and seated right away by the friendly hostess/waitress. As soon as we sat, she came over with warm towels for our hands and asked us what we wanted to drink. We got green tea and throughout the meal, she came over to refill the cups as soon as they were empty. We started off with the Age Tofu which is served with tempura sauce... usually it's served with teriyaki sauce (I think), which is how I prefer it, but the tofu itself was very good - soft and the tempura crispy. Three of us shared the Love Boat, Hamachi Special Roll and 3 pieces of Uni sushi. We all agreed the Uni wasn't awesome - it wasn't not fresh or anything, but left an aftertaste that some sea urchin leaves... may be the region it's from? (Haven't figured out yet why some are like that and others are buttery and sweet.) Regardless of that, all the other fish was very fresh and the sashimi pieces were cut thick - we were very pleased with the Love Boat and Hamachi roll. They have several choices of sake; we tried two and both were good - we asked the waitress for a recommendation. read more

Very cozy little spot by the Hempstead area. Family owned and operated. They don't have ayce sushi but the sushi and sashimi here is fresh and tasty. My wife and I came here for lunch during cinco de mayo and the service was on point and the food was great. We ordered the lunch special she order the tuna cucumber with no rice sushi which tasted like delicious tuna tartare and I had the three roll combo and sashimi lunch. The three roll combo consisted of spicy salmon roll, eel avocado, and salmon skin roll. I also ordered the uni and that tasted amazing. The hostess/waitress new the menu front to back and made great recommendations, service was very attentive as well. I stopped in this establishment for lunch today I've been in this place a few times their food is good. My problem is it seems the owner doesn't like the use of credit cards ...she has made small comments in the past, bring cash & I usually do...today I open my wallet realized I didn't stop at the bank. Being a regular establishment and a familiar face I figured there would be no issue so before I ordered anything I explained today I only had my credit card owner proceeds tell me... $20 minimum. I love Sushi Palace. Finding this place was an accident. My friend's sister recommended Sushi Palace and we wound up here even though she meant the one in Great Neck. This was definitely a good mistake though! It's a tiny little place that's easy to overlook. Standard sushi place atmosphere. It isn't anything fancy but it's worth a visit. Spicy Combo is 3 rolls (spicy tuna, cali roll, and yellowtail) with soup or salad for 12 bucks. Cheap & really good! Everything is always fresh. I have never had anything bad here. The staff is always friendly and efficient, they give you warm towels once you are seated and always keep an eye on your water or tea to see if you need a refill. If this place were closer to my house I would be here at least 2-3 times a week but I'm here once a week anyway even though its a bit of a drive. read more

I'll give it to this place for what they have to work with and where they are located. No parking, and no room inside, but they do put out some good rolls. I'd stay away from the sushi/sashimi though as I don't know if it is quite as high in standards as other places I go too (you won't notice in the rolls, but you will if you pick up their sushi/sashimi) , but again for the price, and location (nothing up that way in the sushi arena) it is worth a shot. This is 16 years overdue. I've been going to Sushi Palace since I was in High School... I'm in my 30s now!!! I don't know why I haven't written one prior to today. Came here for my boyfriend to experience real, fresh sushi for the first time. He enjoyed it and said when are we coming back... :) My usually is always trying something new.. My favorites are Mars, Ocean and Salmon Maki rolls with a glass of plum wine. My best friend and I used to come here a lot in college (AU) and it's still a nostalgic place to visit together or more popular for take out. Before I even moved to West Hempstead my husband and I would drive over from Franklin Square for this delicious sushi. The rolls are always yummy and super fresh. The gyoza and crab miso are some of my favorite things to get; also the fancy roll is a must have. The staff is such a sweet pleasure.
