I was expecting the traditional robatayaki where the chef grills the food in front of you similar to a sushi bar. I asked to be seated at the bar. However, there were only two bars. The alcohol bar, and the sushi bar. No actual robatayaki. I was a bit disappointed. We ordered the following: spare ribs filet mignon shishito peppers salmon collar fatty tuna nigiri ikura nigiri pork belly hot sake the grilled items were delicious. the sushi items are ok. I'm not a fan of hot sake, I prefer the cold ones but I just went with that the others wanted. I would try this place again when I'm back in the area. read more

I was there for dinner on Friday, June 18th, with my daughter. We ordered 2 rolls (Sunshine Roll $14.50 & Picasso Roll $15.50) and I ordered one glass of Rose at HH price which was $6.00. Total for my order was $36 and I tipped $8. My bill was $44.00 and they charged my credit card $68.97! I didn't keep the receipt, so I cannot contest it...but will never go there again. Terrible loss of trust for a $25 dollar over charge. The service was terrible and the staff were cold and indifferent ..which is why I didn't tip more to begin with. Keep your receipts, folks. I'm always looking for great sushi and seafood! Anytime I'm in a town I know I can get good seafood I go running to the closest great restaurant. Luckily while in Richardson I found Edoko to satisfy my craving. The decor and service are great and the food....phenomenal. I got the seafood risotto which had scallops, fish and shrimp. It totally hit the spot and rich, creamy and delicious. It also had a great added crunch with perfectly cooked asparagus and the mushrooms added a great flavor. I also got a maki roll which looked like a piece of art. It also tasted amazing! This meal it the spot and I will be back when in the area again. read more

We have "eaten here" three times - once through a third party company (Uber I think..?), once in the restaurant and then another time tonight having ordered through Uber again. We have had nothing but EXCEPTIONAL food, the one roll with tomatoes micro greens and balsamic ?? I think I could eat that every day. And the squid salad is to die for. BUT! My biggest compliment would be about Sharon - when we ordered to go food through Uber, she did amazingly in handling our special request of adding on the squid salad (since it wasn't available on Uber). There is just something about great customer service and let me tell you - Sharon is an exemplary example of that. Thank you, Sharon! Looking forward to dining with the restaurant again soon! To start off on the good points, our server was nice and timely when bringing and taking dishes from our table. She also refilled our glasses frequently. The interior is clean and neat and has a more modern vibe too it. Now for the food, my party and I were disappointed by all of the sushi and sashimi that we tried. The Chef's Sashimi Cut Special had 2 pieces of different types of fish (including salmon, tuna, red snapper...). However, EACH ONE had a sweet and floral taste to it. From my experience with raw fish, sashimi doesn't have this kind of flavor to it. The Butterfly Kiss (crabmeat wrapped in a strip of salmon) doesn't have any rice to it, and I realized that I need that texture/crunch. Eating this roll felt like mush, and didn't have any depth to it. The Lady Karen is WAY too large. I could very barely fit one piece into my mouth each time. There's also way too much crabmeat. I expected to see more raw fish in the center of it. The French Rainbow Roll was the best sushi roll we had out of what we chose, but it still lacked. I think the last 3 rolls mentioned here just have too much crabmeat. We also got the Tempura Vanilla Ice Cream which had batter that was crispy on the outside and bread/cake like on the inside. It was the best thing of the night. Overall, I was disappointed by the raw fish and excessive use of crabmeat. The prices are also similar elsewhere along with better quality fish, so that's where I would go - elsewhere. read more

This is our go-to sushi joint when in the Richardson area. We like to sit by the sushi counter. The sushi is so fresh all the time, the different sauces for the rolls really complement the rolls. We usually go with the Bayou and Palm Springs rolls but recently added Red Rock to our usuals. It is so good. I've never had sushi made with crispy rice! It's a fun texture to experience! Tried the cod and shishito peppers for the first time - pretty good too! And the service, from the servers to the sushi chefs - amazing! Chef's kiss all around!! read more

Staff was extremely friendly & truly professional and service was exceptionally good. I loved how they maintained the place super clean and smelling fresh & nice. We ordered speechless roll & shrimp dynamite roll, ordered shrimp tempura (the portion was less compared to other restaurants I been to) & Tsukune robata. Came here on a girls night out and loved the vibes! It was a Wednesday night so not so packed and easy to get table. We ordered a lobster roll, two rolls from the makis menu (rolls with no rice) namely the edoko kiss and kabuki roll. Lobster roll definitely was not my favorite. It was smothered in way too much mayo sauce and the coloring was just cream all around. These are usually my favorite rolls but definitely not from here. The edoko kiss was very good. But it didn't make a strong impression since I was so in love w the kabuki roll! Kabuki roll and edoko both are wrapped in soy paper, taste very much like rice paper on spring rolls. It's clear and has a light taste. It's stuffed w lettuce and other items and topped off with fish and varies toppings. I can probably eat two kabuki rolls to myself!!! We also had the spicy garlic edamame and that was very good too! Really enjoyed this place. Nice twist from your usual sushi and the food was so fresh when we got there. Super solid sushi option! Tried 4 different rolls based on server recommendation and they were all awesome choices. we got the mori mori roll, the sunshine roll, the evergreen roll, and the Picasso! Also got the green tea cheesecake for dessert and the cucumber gin cocktail and both were great. The cocktail was refreshing. Great service and food came out quickly! This review is based on a pick-up order for just sushi. The people who answered the phone were awesome! They were so friendly, and the person who took my order went above and beyond. I mentioned that my order was for kids (no spice, etc) and lo and behold, our take-out bag also included these beginner chopsticks for them. It was such a nice touch! We felt like the quality of the sushi was on par with the price. Fish was fresh and crab meat plentiful. We'll be back! Some tips: -The restaurant closes between 2:30-5pm and if you try ordering online, the system won't tell you when the order will be ready so it's better to call 20-25 minutes prior to pick up. It was love at first roll... I have no idea why I'm just now going to this place. FOOD: I got the speechless roll and my friend got the chicken yakisoba. The yakisoba must have been amazing because he did not offer me any (will be trying it next time though!) The speechless roll I thought I wouldn't be a fan of just because personally I feel like jalapeño doesn't belong on maki rolls lol but this was a great balance of flavors, crunch, sweetness and spicyness, all delivered freshly made and warm. The roll itself contained crab meat and cream cheese with spicy mayo with eel sauce drizzled over...pretty much everything I love about maki in one. Needless to say I'll be back to get the exact same roll and try more,dessert options look pretty yummy. DRINKS: If you like lychee get the drink I got,it has the nice light lychee flavor with just the right amount of alcohol to get you buzzed. ATMOSPHERE: modern, high ceilings, great area with plenty of parking. Perfect for a night out and the servers are great. Pretty empty on a Saturday night not sure why though,but feel free to take a big group! The only BAD things I can say is that I wish there were more rolls included, especially for the price I feel like I should have gotten more food. Speechless was $12 but that's about the same price you'd pay for a specialty roll in the Dallas/plano/richardson area. Just bought my coworker and I lunch. We bought 2 steak bento boxes. They forgot the rice!!!!!! My other coworker stated this isn't the first time they did that. Portion was nothing to talk about. Miso soup was extra salty. 1st and last time. If they can't even do a simple bento box right, i wouldn't even try the sushi. OOO LA LA ! A+ Restaurant! I was greeted very warmly by the hostess and seated right away. The restaurant is fairly new but the service was still great! All the rolls came out very fresh and had a lot of meat on it. My favorite roll that I ordered was the French Kiss Roll ! It just melted in my mouth as soon as I took a bite! I would have to give a shout out to our waiter Ryan. He was very kind and helped us newbies choose rolls. He checked up on just the right amount of times. He did an amazing job and helped us get the most out of our Edoko experience :) Definitely would recommend this place to anyone and would for sure come back for another great meal! If you guys haven't been area this area you need to go check it out. The area is a definite up and coming place that needs to be on your radar. My friend suggested this place for a early dinner and I obliged. Edoko has happy hours on Mondays which had a pretty good selection on appetizers and drinks. We got edamame (basic I know) and tempura to start with. The tempura order could have had a little more veggie variety though. Next we got the French kiss roll, temptation roll, and the Palm Springs roll. My favorite was the French kiss roll - put this on your list of must orders because it was awesome. Then to top off the night we finished off a creme brûlée which was amazing. Shout out to Eugene for being an awesome manager. Excellent experience at Edoko. Attentive service. Our rather large party did not have to wait to be seated at primetime weekend dinner time. They offer some interesting dishes that I haven't usually encountered at other similar restaurants. Some of the items our table had: -tango roll (comes with 4 dipping sauces, most of them are quite spicy) -edoko tower (they present in tower form, but then they will ask to deconstruct it for you) -udon carbonara (not was I was expecting, pretty much tasted like an italian pasta dish, as the name implies i guess) -french kiss (non-rice maki, wrapped in soy paper; this dish was difficult to eat and fell apart very easily) Overall, would recommend this place. Quality of the dishes was good and up to par. First time to try this place and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to be another Japanese restaurant to try with the same "expected" taste but boy was I wrong. Everything we tried were of exceptional quality and more importantly, excellent taste. Most favorite dish are the Gindara and the Miso Seabass. I got also the Sushi sampler and there's no fishy aftertaste. You can tell the fish is fresh. For robata, we got the Shitake mushrooms and yellowtail.
