I'm so sad to write this review, but Sushi Rollin' has gone to the dark side. I have purchased better quality sushi from Sam's and that's not saying much!!!!! Today I paid $42 with tip for a togo order. My caterpillar roll had zero imitation crab, & it was all rice smashed up in the center, Yuck!! And there was no eel sushi on the roll either. My sashimi red snapper was on the fishy side. And my salmon was on the gray side. The restaurant has some cleanliness issues also. The floor needs to be mopped and in the entry the mats have grass and dirt on them. Oh, and the portions & quality differs whether you order togo or eat in the diningroom. What a Shame!!! My last couple of visits have been borderline and now I'm NOT returning.

I've tried many Japanese restaurants and wow this sushi is AMAZING. Way better than any other I've tried. The shrimp tempura and golden California roll were delicious. Great service.

I really loved it! They have amazing service and the prices are amazing, will definitely be coming back it's like a hidden gem

    Miso Soup
    Goodness I.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. It was my friend and I'd first time and the server was very kind. We were seated immediately and shown the menus. Service was quick and everything was so good! Seasoned very well and an affordable price range. I would definitely come back! It was also very quiet inside (because no one was there) so that was kind of an odd experience lol.

Unprofessional management. Ordered their california roll and they gave me the wrong thing; some kind of spicy roll. I can't eat spicy food due to a medical condition. When i called them they were extremely unprofessional and did not take accountability, and wanted me to go out of my way to go back to the restaurant and return the wrong food they gave me like i'm some liar. Unacceptable behavior!

    Cry Baby 2 Special Roll

Food was excelente! Very tasty and fresh. The host was diligent and friendly. I had the Cry Baby 2 rolls and they were perfect. They are spicy but I can tolerate it. Don't recommend for the faint of heart . We tried the stuffed jalapeños and mushrooms (didn't get a picture of these) but they were both delicious! The Stuffed burrito I didn't get to try it, but the one who did recommends it. I will definitely be back! Great music playing while enjoying our meal.

$14.95 for this, what a joke

This place replaced Sushi Go so I had high hopes it would be much better but I think they kept the old menu and added a bunch of stuff. I got the shrimp tempura roll without cream cheese which was $12.95 and a salmon tower for $14.95 The shrimp tempura was alright but I would ask to take out the tempura crunch. The salmon tower was disappointing small especially since the girl at the cashier said it was a good size. The portion of salmon was very little with way too much rice/cali mix. I don't think I'll be back especially because I can get bigger portions with the same price somewhere else.

It can be difficult to find an affordable sushi place that is also of good quality. I think that among the sushi places I've been to while staying in the Plano area, Sushi Rollin' may very well just be the best bang for your buck. Not only that but the service was great, I had a nice experience when I went in to order take-out. The restaurant was spotless, the hostess was very kind and capable of her job for sure. I was impressed by the speed at which the food was made, and it was also accurate. I do wish I had remembered to ask for more wasabi, they didn't give me a ton of it and as far as wasabi goes, it didn't seem very strong. I decided to get a miso soup, a seaweed salad, and the second sushi combo which was my choice of one among the 30 special rolls to choose from (I chose the cucumber roll called the Kani Kama), I chose to do the salmon sashimi (3 pieces), and red snapper for the nigiri (2 pieces). The soup was as good as most miso soups I've ever had, it was still nice and warm by the time I got back to the hotel. I was very impressed by the portion size of the seaweed salad, and it tasted as I would have anticipated, was pleased with that. The slices of sashimi were generously sized and it was decent fish. The snapper nigiri was good as well and the fish to rice ratio was in favor of the fish so that was appreciated. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Kani Kama roll, but there really wasn't anything wrong with it. I would definitely try a different roll next time, maybe something with a bit more flavor/salt to it. Without getting the soup and seaweed salad, I could have been content with just the sushi combo, which would have left me at under $20 for dinner. It seems like this place is very new so I hope they do well! I don't see why they wouldn't succeed.

The sushi quality here is pretty decent, but IMO it's a bit overpriced (probably because of lack of competition in the area)

Overall: 4.7/5 [dine in]…read more Our sushi chef was Jayden and he was so nice. He checked in with us throughout the meal to make sure everything tasted good, offered to cut our hand rolls in half so we could share, and even gave us a salmon belly on the house. Black Cod Nigiri ($6): Best bite of the night and it was on the seasonal menu. It was cooked and I'm not sure what they did to it, but it was absolutely phenomenal. Salmon Truffle Ponzu ($18): My second favorite dish of the night. The salmon was super fresh and the truffle ponzu elevated the whole thing. Scallop Foie Gras ($24): Beautiful presentation and good but surprisingly not as flavorful as the salmon truffle ponzu. I was expecting more umami from the foie gras. Salmon Belly Toro Nigiri ($16): Salmon belly with fatty toro topped with ikura. Delicious and melts in your mouth. Toro Wagyu Uni Nigiri ($22): Fatty tuna, A5 wagyu beef, and uni nigiri. My husband thought it was fun to eat, but said he would not order it again. Nodoguro Nigiri ($13): I looked this up, and it's apparently a rare high end deep sea fish from Japan known as the toro of white fish. Based purely on taste though, I thought it was okay and did not compare to the salmon belly. Kanpachi Cherry Blossom ($6.50): A pretty rosy pink color with a subtle cherry blossom flavor. Okay in terms of taste compared to the other fishes we had. Ami Ebi Nigiri ($10): The sweet shrimp was a bit too raw for me. Crab Uni Butter Nigiri ($12): I did not really taste the difference between the uni infused butter and regular butter so I am not sure it is worth the price, though it was still good. Snow Crab Handroll ($7): So much better than imitation crab. Recommend out of all the handrolls we tried. Eel Handroll ($7.50): Not my favorite but my husband said it was one of the best eel he has ever had. Lobster Handroll ($12): Good but nothing special. Volcano Roll ($28): This took the longest to make and was the last item we received even though we saw them start preparing it at the beginning of the meal. The presentation was beautiful and Jayden even sprayed gold on it for our photo and video. It comes with snow crab, avocado, lobster, and bay scallop topped with eel sauce and was really yummy with lots of seafood. The only downside was that the roll underneath broke apart easily which made it hard to eat. Fresh Wasabi Root ($10): We watched them grind the wasabi fresh which was cool to see. It doesn't have a kick to it though so I wouldn't order it again since I like a tiny bit of spiciness. Matcha Mojito ($15): Not for me. It had a bit too much club soda. Yuzu Saketini ($15): I liked this one more than the matcha mojito. The yuzu flavor was prominent and it kind of reminded me of a Lemon Drop.

I want to extend a huge shout-out to our waiter, Vivian, for giving us insight on the food and bars/places to check around in Dallas! For the nigiri I had the fatty tuna, a5 wagyu, and king salmon. They were all absolutely delicious and warped me to Japan. I was reminded of the same quality and taste - which checks out since they import their fish from Japan! The special kome roll was so delicious I ate it very slowly to savor every bite and memory of sushi in Japan. For dessert I had the deep fried cheesecake - I think the last time I had this I was 12 at Mr. sushi in Boston and all my memories came back. Grapes were too big though but everything else A+ The matcha tonic - I can't find it online but it was an incredible balance of fizzy, sweetness and matcha. The complexity of the drink makes me want to try more!
