I brought my car in early so he could check my car. I dropped it off, and left it to pick up a rental. When I came back to get things out of my car, I asked the older guy if he knew what was wrong with it. He said that he ordered this part, and that part, and would call me with an estimate. All day went by, so I called to follow up hours later, and he said that he will call me in 20 minutes with an estimate, but never called. I called this morning, and he said he needed to test drive to make sure that the timing belt is good, yada yada yada. After bringing up what happened on Saturday, he pretty much said that I can come pick up my car, and take it somewhere else. His son Ed Jr usually works on my car, not him. Ed and his Papa are awesome! We take all our cars to them Mercedes S500, Honda Accords, Toyota Tundra and many others. Our Mercedes had the check engine light on quite a few times and even though we paid thousands of dollars to Mercedes in Signal Hill to have it fixed the problem persisted. Finally we went to Ed's and for a much smaller fee they finally fixed our car! That was what first won us over on this place. This place is a but hidden as it is located in the back and by many other auto shops off Artesia but the GPS will lead the way. They are ASE certified, they do brakes, engines , T/belts as well as AC repairs. I definitely recommend this place for your car needs and maintenance (^_^) read more

I had an electrical problem with the car being stuck on accessory mode when turning off the car. Basically when you turn off the car, the car would still be on, so I would get battery drain, alarm won't work, etc. Atmosphere: Typical Auto-shop. Service: At first glance, service seemed really reliable and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It took almost 2.5 weeks to get my car repaired, and I kept going back and fourth because I didn't get updates on the car much, I had to keep calling for updates. Price wasn't too bad. I got my internal fuse junction box replaced because I had a stuck power relay. Upon replacing the internal fuse junction box the symptoms were all fixed. After driving off for about a whole day, I realized my battery lights were flickering and that my alternator was going out. I've since replaced the alternator but that was not the issue. The issue was a strategically cut wire that connected the alternator to the internal fuse junction box, without this connection you would lose power in the car basically and would run on the battery, then the battery would eventually die. I would give them a one star but I felt they did what they could, and they did help with my car, but the other fact still remains... With that said, I don't think there's any other coincidences that could have occurred for that one specific wire to have been (cut) finely. It wasn't like a burned wire or anything. Tip: I'd just be real careful, if ever coming here. not trying to bring any businesses down or anything but my rating is purely based on honesty and facts. Good luck to future customers. read more

A buddy of mine just recently had his vehicle dropped off for service and this company has kept his car for such an extended amount of time and well over their service due date. This company has even failed to follow up with the status of his vehicle. Everyone that I know who has gone here all say the same thing. Unprofessional, untimely, and most of all does not follow up with it's work in communicating with it's clients. It is such a simple task to at least communicate to a customer about it's services. Beware of this place!!!!! Here is what happened each step of the way of my hell. First off they had my car over 4 months. They would not call me for updates and weeks would go by before I would have to call. My Lexus is a 95 with 90k miles. I had an overdrive light on. I took it originally to my transmission shop. They indicated it was a sensor to take it to these people. I took it in and they ran tests. First they said it was a sensor so we fixed that. I Picked it up and light came back on within 3 blocks. I Took it back and then he stated my computer was bad. I searched and found a matching computer tested out of a used Lexus. Put in new computer said light was still on and I must have a short in my wires. What happened to the computer being bad??? He also Never found a short so I picked up my car. Drove a few blocks and light cane on so I took it back. He then said my computer I bought was bad due to a leak from heater core under dash leaking on computer. He removed the computer and claims he sent it in to be repaired. He then ripped my dash apart to fix heater core that took 2 months. I would call and drive by every few weeks. My presten leather Seats were loaded with grease and car covered in dirt. He finally fixed the heater core after threatening to get the car as is and I'd I sue him. After repair was done he must have been driving my car home because I got a parking ticket in front of his house. I finally picked up my car and drove it 3 blocks and light came on again. I decided to take it home to store it and deal with him in court. I called him 3 weeks later as I was taking it to the dealer to have them fix it. As I got to the dealer I found a puddle of was water on floor board on passenger side were heater core is. I was pissed and called him. I stated I want all my money back he said I offer Warrenty bring it back. I again gave him a chance to fix leak and overdrive light. He keep my car for another week calling him daily when he promised he'd have a report back by end of day I dropped it off. He had the car another 3 weeks. He fixed leak but instead of it being heater core like first time he said there was a crack in a hose. I told him I was picking up the car since it should have been done. He said the light was still on and I needed a new computer or a sensor was bad. I lost it at this point, are you kidding me? He told me he don't work with customers like me and to come get my car. He also said, you have another ticket by the way!!!!!! Tags were expired since he had the car for so long I could not get it smoged. I asked how do I have a ticket when my car is on privet property?? This guy must have been driving my car again or parked it on the street. Either way that's not taking care of my nice car. End of story he made me pick the car up after thousands of dollars spent and time lost. My overdrive light is still on original issue still not fixed. Took it to another shop.. beware!!!!!! He lies and cheats and will drive your car home. No room on property since he has so many cars backed up. read more

My appointment was at 4pm so I waited all day only to be told he has to check to see if he has the wiring diagram lol it was a joke. The guy who helped me, Edward, was super nice and very thorough with his explanations. The guy who I'm guessing is the owner, was talking to me like I was some kind of child that didn't know the basic functions of a sunroof. After everything, Edward came and told me what the car needed and the estimate... $800! There was no way in hell I was paying $800 for them to fix 3 things. So let me just start off by saying I'm suprised this place has been open for so long. If I could give this place a negative zero I would. My father paid 1500 dollars for unnecessary work. The car had been in the shop for over a month now. The owners son is a pathological liar. The son called saying the car would be ready by 7. He said the worker that installed the part was stuck in traffic at 12pm. Long story short my father went to pick up the car at 7 like son said to do. ED the owner and the father basically told my dad that his son was lying. Not only did he lie but the part wasn't even shipped. Refused to give a refund, threatened to call the police numerous amount of time on my father whenever he went to the shop to check on HIS CAR. As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Sounds like they are just looking to come up. Not only did the owner DISRESPECT my father.THE OWNER THREW MONEY AT MY DAD IN HIS FACE. He threw money at a paying customer. The owner REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE PAYMENT AND REFUSED TO GIVE US THE CAR. Hassan A. Jose at Lim's Auto Repair located on 5217 Cherry Ave. , Long Beach recommended Ed's Auto Electric for my wind shield wiper problem in my Lincoln Town Car. I went to Ed's. Edward went into a detailed explanation of how a wiper motor works and even showed me the blue prints on his laptop for my model for which I was impressed. He then said that the diagnostic charge would be $65.00 and be applied towards the total cost. I agreed however I thought it was $20.00 more than usual. After waiting for 2 hours, Edward gives me an estimate of $258.00 to replace the wiper motor & labor and additional $500.00 for the module which controls the speed of wiper motor! Still the labor for the module was going to be added. More over, having opened underneath the steering column, Edward could not find where the module was to get the ID number off of it!! At this point I called my old mechanic in Whittier to ask about this. He told me to take my car to him right away. I told Edward to put everything back together & no repair needed. I paid him $65.00 though. Taking my Town Car to my old mechanic in Whittier, he replaced the wiper motor only for a total of $105.00 including the labor. It's working perfect! I brought my 2011 ford econoline in to have a 2nd battery installed. I use a wheelchair and my van has a lift and also its off road capable so i have lots of off road lights. I wanted a 2nd battery to power my lift and my off road lighting. He told me the best route to go and what he was going to do. He gave me some options on where i wanted the battery. The job has been completed for a few months now and i've been very happy with the work and what he has done. I had been warned about this creep by two of the businesses in the strip-mall of garages in which it resides. Foolishly took him up on a offer to purchase a van from him. Price was to be $1500 - fixed and able to pass a smog. (It only needed a computer and a small electrical fix. Right!) Months later, I'm out $1500, as he wouldn't even start the repair until I had chunked out the whole $1500, he raised the price to $2000, then tells me the van needs a new transmission before it will pass a legal smog test. I told him right from the start I couldn't use the thing unless it could pass smog. But, no sweat, because the guy who does his smogs can get you an illegal smog cert. for only $250!! Told him "NO WAY, I want my cash back." He refuses, says I owe HIM $$$. He also didn't disclose that the car had been sitting for 5 years in his parking lot. In passing the bad word I've since run into 3 other people who've been screwed by Ed Sr. If you let him fix your car he'll take his sweet time, then throw in a couple of easy things like spark plugs or a new battery that are hard to argue with so he can charge you for an hour of labor and give the know-nothings who work for him something to do. There are too many good mechanics out there to waste time and $$$ with this POS. Avoid at all costs. read more

on 8/2/2014 Saturday around 8:30 a.m. I dropped my Chevy Van off at this place to have my Carburetor adjusted to pass smog (so they say!). When I came back to pick up my van then drive it to the smog station to have it smogged low and behold it failed! The smog technician confirmed that it was not the carburetor at all it was a simple spark wire which was crossed (the firing order was off) which caused the vehicle to run rough. I confirmed that Ed's Auto did not touch the carb. you see! before I drove it on their property I put some scotch tape around the Air filter just to see if they even removed it! and low and behold again! the tape was not broken which means they didn't even remove the Air filter top to even get to the carb! lol! In short! they did absolutely nothing! my van just sat in there parking lot and my dumb ass paid these crooks $65.00 for a carburetor adjustment which never happened! I strongly urge not coming to this mechanic even to change a fucking tire! This organization cannot be trusted! read more
