I have come here three times now. The food is magnificent. The owner a very kind. So far I have ordered the Chicken Kabab, Lula Kabab, and Karcho soup. Ed makes all of these dishes very well. Whatever he marinates his chicken in really makes things taste delicious. Another thing I love seeing is Ed checking the temperature of the chicken to make sure it is cooked properly. Aside of the chicken, the rice that comes with the meal is a nice balance to go with the meat. I also love the miniature spicy carrot salad and chopped salad that comes with the meal. I live a few blocks from this place and have been passing it while driving on Hobson for quite some time. My wife and I finally decided to give it a try last night and man oh man, this is some seriously good food. People can argue that Mediterranean places are quite common in the area, and although that might be true, the tastes are what separate them. I love Fil-a-pita with a passion, but if you were to give me chicken from both places, I'd choose Ed's in an instant. The flavors and spices used really make this place unique. We had to try everything so of course we got an order of fish, hummus, falafel, chicken, chicken and pork lula, chebureki, kharcho soup. It was all so so good and just tasted more unique compared to other places. I don't know, I'm not an expert on Mediterranean food, but there's just something about Ed's Kitchen that makes me want to eat more and more and more of it. Also, I had never heard of Chebureki or Kharcho soup but thanks to Ed's, I'm now a huge fan. We were also very surprised at how fast Ed's was with communicating with us. We had put in an order of khachapuri but at that point, it had been sold out for a few hours. Ed HIMSELF called us up and told us what had happened and that he would be giving us another Chebureki for free. Amazing! My only complaint wouldn't even be a complaint so much as a suggestion for others. Grubhub is limited with choices from the menu. If you order online through toasttab, there's WAYYYY more options to choose from than Grubhub. If we had gone through grubhub, we would've never gotten Chebureki or Kharcho soup. INSANELY top quality food at REASONABLE prices. SO GOOD. This place is fabulous. I'm a "Foodie" and I GRILL on charcoal which is what Ed's does !!! He LITERALLY uses charcoal. Second visit was just as good as the first visit. I had the pork & beef Lula platter. The meat is ground with a variety of spices, grilled to perfection over wood charcoal. The platter was delicious and plentiful, it could easily feed two people. The Lula was served over a bed of rice and had two sides- a chopped salad and a carrot salad. Ed the owner works the register and prepares the food. He proudly describes his dishes and appreciates feed back. Seating is limited to a window counter. It is all kebabs done on site very well prepared and the chef check the temperature of the meat with every kebab that comes off you couldn't ask for better care and preparing really good food.
