While they do have an awesome variety of products, their prices are crazy high. For example, I ordered a "fresh" (not frozen) turkey for Thanksgiving several weeks ago. I specified a 10-15 lb. bird, as I was having a small gathering. When I went to pick it up, they handed me a RedBird brand turkey that was 14.5 lbs., and the price tag was just over $65 -- that's $4.50/lb. I thanked them, but said I would pass. I drove ¼ mile to my local Kroger store and found a 14 lb. RedBird turkey (fresh, not frozen) for $41.86 ($2.99/lb). So, in short, if you're looking for something exotic or hard to find, and you don't care what you have to pay, Edwards Meats is your place. If you're looking for a bargain, this is NOT your place. First time in Colorado and I wanted to try cooking Elk on the grill. I found Edwards Meats was close to me so I called the store. I questioned 2 men about Elk and how to cook it. I have been a generationally loyal customer of Edward's Meats. Sometime around COVID I noticed their cut and meat quality - specifically for their filet mignons had gotten horrible. I never give a bad review on one experience, but the last 3-4 times I have picked up 4-6 of their 8 or 10oz filet mignons I have been incredibly disappointed with the quality of the meat. When I unwrapped the bacon to inspect the tenderloins I was ashamed of what I found. There were 2-3 individual pieces of tenderloin stuffed together and wrapped with bacon. These filets should be one piece of tenderloin as they were in the past. To make things worse, there are random knife cuts through the grain where the meat is then forced to fold over itself in an unnatural way. The result when cooking these is an inconsistent filet mignon where parts are more cooked than others. With there being multiple pieces together these have been falling apart and getting ruined on the grill. Very disappointing. Hopefully they either get a new meat cutter, or start sourcing their meat from a more reputable supplier, or I will no longer support this business. I shop here weekly and spend on average 150-200 dollars per visit. read more

How did I not know about this place before this? A friend's son recommended it and I made a pilgrimage today. Simply put, it is the Mecca of meat and gourmet markets in Denver. The selection of meat is unbelievable. I can't believe there is anything they don't have. To give you an example, I bought a rack of beef ribs, smoked cheddar jalapeno sausage, and spicy Italian sausage. Their selection of gourmet items is equally amazing. I discovered this place in 2017, I probably had passed it many times but never noticed it. I have purchased several different items here with the exception of produce and grocery items. They offer a large variety of quality meats and deli items. My favorites are the deli salads. Even though their prices are higher than the grocery stores around, the quality is worth it. A spectacular cut of meat but the price that comes along with it is extremely high. They have a huge selection of meats and other products and you can find just about anything you're looking for here for the chef in you. Pick up Christmas eve was packed but they ran it like a fine-tuned machine. In and out pretty quickly. I did see some not so fresh meats in the case that were starting to brown. I would have not chosen those if I were making a selection. Sometimes seeing that gives you the impression that all their product is a day or two older than it should be. Overall, though, this is very popular butcher as people come from near and far to make their purchase. That should tell you something about their popularity. Of course Edwards deserves five stars! Listen, if you have a problem with the price point, you clearly don't appreciate quality and consistency, you should probably stick to king soopers. If you think you've seen "brown meat" in the coolers, meat does oxidize, sometimes at surprising rates, it doesn't mean that it's gone bad or it's too old. Every protein that I've picked up here has been delicious and fresh, their frozen selection is always great, and I regularly pick up a tasty lunch at the deli counter because it's all just so yummy. The customer service is always on point, even when they're incredibly busy (which is always), and there's plenty of seasoning and sauce selections to make your meal a show stopper. Better late than never but just in a time for the holidays. I ordered a Crown Pork Roast from Edwards last Christmas and we still talk about it. It may be the call again for this year's Christmas dinner. I forgot to write this review, so I can't remember the exact details. I think I paid a little over $70 for the crown. Edwards preps the crown (and includes the little booties) so it is ready for your culinary endeavors. Meat quality was excellent; the pork was tender with great flavor. Price was a little on high side, but I found when shopping for a crown roast, price can go from one extreme to the other.
