Going downhill. I have been going to Edwards for about 5 years. The last 2 months have seen a noticeable decrease in customer service. Wait times have increased and it seems prices have gone up. Noticeable increase in staff turnover. Today I bought a chicken salad sandwich, no questions, just chicken salad between 2 pieces of white bread. More celery than chicken. I don't know what has changed managerially but they need to fix it. read more

Holy meat, cheese, sauce and hand made goods heaven! This mom and pop shop in the Wheat Ridge area is a true diamond in the rough. They slice and dice all meat in house, not wasting one bit of each animal. The variety in here is genuinely insane: Chicken gizzards, cow tongue,specialty jerky, seafood and your regular old steaks, hand cut bacon and more. They also offer fresh produce, hand made pasta, cheeses, spices/sauces and a super nice staff. Because this is a local mom and pop shop, you can expect to pay a little more than you would at like, King Soopers bu the quality will likely be better. So, there's that. Visited Edwards today for first time. Will definitely be returning. This is now our go-to butcher. Not only does the store have a great selection of items such as Camellia beans, but the meat is phenomenal. I purchased a porterhouse to cook on my Kamado Joe, and it was the best piece of meat I've cooked since moving to Colorado. As one of my favorite butchers in Baton Rouge would say...good meat ain't cheap, and cheap meat ain't good! read more

DELI review. Have tried this place a few times and the sandwiches appear to be an inconvenience for them. Hastily slapped together and just plain shoddy. One of my coworkers already will not go back and after today I will not either. Ordered a Roast beef and cheddar, took it back to the office an bit in... There is a rule when cutting meat, A rule they should know. It really is the golden rule. DO NOT CUT WITH THE GRAIN, CUT ACROSS IT! The difference is un-chewable strip of muscle and easy to bite goodness. As you suspected I had slabs of long muscle stands that could not be bitten through or chewed, not edible, not an acceptable product to serve. They know the rule, just did not care. Apathy. Returned the sandwich and the Manager said it must have been near the end of it... That does not make it ok to serve it! poor excuse and no apology (she made the sandwich). "Refund or a different sandwich". Oh refund for sure, I learned that lesson. 40 wasted minutes later and one empty stomach... Bye Edwards, I am not going to miss you. read more

I came here a few weeks ago and bought two filets that were very tasty and received really good customer service. I came back this week with the same order and they gave me one filet and one piece of gristly garbage meat folded over itself and then wrapped in bacon. I gave my (26 years old) daughter a taste and had to stop her from eating all of it (0.5 lbs) right then and there. I called Edwards today to see about ordering a pigs head to make a German dish, Pon Haus. The girl that answered my call was so rude. Ashley? Ashlin? Lightly laughed and told me we don't sell those! I was surprised because I have purchased the pig head from them, has been many years. When I told her I had purchased before? She was like maybe, if we roast a pig and the client doesn't want the head, then yeah. I asked if I could be placed on a list or special order? Again with the laugh...yeah, okay, name? Number? But she made it clear it wasn't going to happen. My next question was, alright, what is the smallest pig can I can get oven roasted, and how much? Put me on hold, without telling me, then came back with $5.49lb. 5-6 days to fulfill. I had questions about chicken heart availability, rocky mtn oysters. She could not get off the phone fast enough. This is a butcher shop correct? Where else would I turn to to special order an item like this? Sad part is we have shopped here like 25yrs. Hit Edwards, Heinies, and at that time, Jolly rancher factory. I did fall back on a place that was more than willing to accommodate me. At half the cost. New Canton BBQ at the Shoppes in Parker. This old school butcher shop is a flashback to my childhood, going to the local meat market with my Dad (in Long Beach, CA). Edwards is cramped, busy, and loud - and their meats are terrific. My go to are buffalo ribeye - tender and delicious! I call ahead to reserve them and have yet to be dissapointed. read more

When placing my 1st call for my thanksgiving order, I've had the bad pleasure of dealing with an older guy named Jeff. He was impatient, rude and raising his voice at me. I was ready to stop my $140 order right there. But they were the only place that had blood sausage so I continued. My experience improved drastically once picking up my order and placing my sandwich orders to go, so much friendlier service with everyone else in there. The food really is delicious, expensive but delicious and worth it. The store has a small packed parking lot. It also has other items sold here like fresh produce, eggs, milk, cheese, sauerkraut, sauce, etc. A one stop shop. I can understand how they're so busy. I would've gave this place 5 stars but that 1st call made me so mad. This place should really not let Jeff do customer service. I'll certainly be back though for their yummy meats. read more

I can't explain the amazing customer service of this market. My husband and I came several months ago and got a bunch of meat. The next day our ribeye was not looking good and we decided to toss it (the rest of the meat was AMAZING). We called and let them know what happened and they asked that we bring in our receipt and they would comp us for the meat. Fast forward two months because we completely forgot and we just happened to be in the area. We decided to stop in and mention what happened with absolutely no intention of them reimbursing us because it had been so long. The manager, John, came right over and was immediately accommodating. He ended up cutting us a fresh piece of ribeye and completely comped it! This is a true local meat market and the customer service is second to none. The meat is truly amazing and worth every penny. My wife found this place online and it's only a couple of miles from our house. We went there this morning and we were very pleased with the large selection of meat. I have been going to Edwards for years. Great, fresh meat and custom cuts (like cubed chicken for soup). They will wrap for freezing or to use tonight. In addition to steaks and chicken, they have Brats, Bacon, Burgers, as well as game meats. The seasonings, Jams and Jellies, salsas are things you can't find anywhere else. I love the idea of going to the butcher and selecting beautiful, fresh cuts of high quality meat. However, I wrote to them and asked where they source their livestock & did not receive a response. The website does not address how the meat is raised or where it comes from, although it talks a lot about the family business. I'd like to give more stars, but it's just good business to provide information to your customers about your products, especially food. Also, I found exactly what I was looking for at another company - except that theirs was local, pastured and certified organic at literally almost HALF the price AND delivered to my doorstep. Amazing diversity of smoked, fresh, and processed meats. This is the place to come for ethnic foods. They have a little something for every culture. They even have a few fresh vegetables for stews and such. I think I have seen eggs there as well. Don't forget the Bread, they get that fresh from some ethnic bakeries around Colorado as well. Edwards has all the hard to find meats. I am sure they would even have foie gras, but I don't know. It's not something I am into. They do have caviar and such too. If you are planning a party, just call them and let them Know. They can help you prepare items. They can cut or even help if you need some stuff prepared (within reason of course). Edwards has an exceptional selection of fresh, smoked and frozen meats. When it comes to meat, I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. You can certainly buy meat cheaper at other stores, like supermarkets, but it is NOT the same product. Edwards has product quality that grocery store meat cannot approach. If cost is a concern, focus on 4-6oz per person. Quality meat will satisfy you more than the factory-farm stuff at the grocery store. Going to Edwards is like going to a candy store. There are choices aplenty to inspire the home chef.
