I am so grateful that I took my mother to Dr. Duzman. Amy, at the front, was amazing and quickly got us an appointment. She is always friendly and a joy to speak with. Amy, in the back, is the most patient, qualified, friendly person I have ever dealt with in an office. My mom has physical limitations, and Amy is amazing and doesn't push my mom to hurry or do anything she is not able. We love her. Last is Dr. Duzman. After going to another ophthalmologist, and it being a complete disaster, our visit with Dr. Duzman gave us hope. He was patient and has a great sense of humor and our outcome has been amazing. I went to the Lakeside Vision Center in Irvine, to see Dr. Efraim Duzman, an eye Specialist and Surgeon. I had Cataract Surgery done on both eyes. It took one month for each eye, and now I do not have the double vision that I had, starting about three months ago. Now I will be able to enjoy, nature and all it's beauty, for the rest of my life! My doctor recommended me to Dr. Duzman, an ophthalmologist, to look at the stye on my eye lid. I went to see Dr. Duzman but by then, the size of the stye subsidized and Dr. Duzman said there was nothing to do. He wanted to see me again in 6 weeks but his staff insisted on me coming back in 2 weeks. I came back and all they did was given me a slew of unnecessary tests (Visual Field Examinations and Image Optic Nerve), nothing to do with the stye, and I never saw the doctor. They charged me $270 for that visit. I called and asked what are those tests for and they said I'd agreed to them. Please DO NOT GO HERE. They don't have enough business so they just drummed up tests so they can charge you. I'm very unhappy and told my own doctor to NEVER EVER recommend them to me again. What a bunch of crooks. read more

I have recently had surgery performed by Dr. Eran Duzman and have been a patient at his location for some time. Both Efraim and Eran Duzman have always provided excellent eye care with a down to earth demeanor and caring attitude. His staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions with patience and understanding. It is a plus that when the office calls to remind for an appointment that the call is from a live person, not a robot. read more

This review is regarding the service I have received from the receptionist. She is an extremely difficult person and I find it impossible to speak to her. She is incredibly condescending, unhelpful, and outright rude. I am extremely disappointed because I actually found the doctor and the technician both to be extremely helpful and professional. I don't think I can't come back to this office in the future because the thought of having to speak to the receptionist is already giving me anxiety and stress. Come on, we are in 2018, please respect your patients and be more helpful. Even if you cannot help, at least speak in a nicer manner. This is a PEOPLE industry after all. read more

Bad eye doctor. I was going blind and he couldn't detect it. I went to another doctor and they were surprised is what they found

I'm upset. This is bad and it's going to cost me a lot of money to resolve. Not too mention I was horrified by the Front Office woman. Took my 5 year old daughter here to get her eyes checked because I believe she was having a hard time seeing. I could see she was squinting and moving forward to see. During the exam he had pictures on the wall (teddy bear, pine tree, truck, birthday cake). He would ask her what the pictures were and she would tell him and he would make them smaller and smaller. After a few size reductions I could tell she was just guessing. She would be looking at me and saying birthday cake and I think a tree. Well this old chap was fooled. He was like good, good. But really I could tell that she was just saying things because she knew what the 5 items were since they never changed. He never sat her in the chair with the lenses to say how about now? 1 or 2? etc. Then he tells me that she needs to be dilated so he could get an accurate prescription. (In my mind I was thinking if they can get an exact prescription from dilation why don't we just skip all of this and do that in the first place?) He walked us to the lobby where other children were either waiting to be seen or had just had their eyes dilated and he was bringing them back in. The Front Office woman does the dilation, which is administering 2 drops in each eye; First a numbing drop, followed by the dilation drop. These bottles are sitting on top of the counter in the lobby. They are NOT sanitary. Additionally the drops can cause a Glaucoma-type adverse allergic reaction, which needs immediate reversal. This is in the document I had to sign before administering the drops. When I asked her, if she was to have this reaction and the Dr. is in the other room, is she going to be able to see it and respond appropriately? She went on to say I didn't read that. There's nothing that causes an adverse reaction. WHAT? I clearly know what I read on that document, the same document she gives out to new patients all day, every day. Then she grabs the bottles of drops and I ask her if this is sanitary and if she was planning on washing her hands?!?!?!?! She ignored me! Took her dirty thumb and pried open my daughter's eyelids and administered drops into her eye with the same tips that have touched dozens of other patients before my daughter. I'm appalled and grossed out but keeping my worries to myself. Then we walk back into see Dr. Ephraim and he looks into my daughter's eyes and writes a prescription saying she has an Astigmatism. It would take 2 weeks for them to order/have her eye glasses ready so being a parent who didn't want my daughter waiting that long I chose to leave there, which would've cost me $15 for her glasses with my insurance, and go to LensCrafters where I paid $140 so she could get them in a few hours. And guess what?! HER PRESCIPTION IS WRONG. AFTER ALL OF THAT SHE SAID SHE CAN'T SEE OUT OF HER GLASSES AND THAT IT'S BLURRY. I'm out the money at LensCrafters and now if I want to go back to have her rechecked I have to do it with the guy that thinks he knows it all without using the equipment, patience and precision to get it right. Plus I will have to wait 2 weeks after that to get her glasses or take a gamble at LensCrafters again with another $140. This has been a complete nightmare! read more

I spent 2 hours in the office for an annual exam: Computer issues allegedly accounted for delays with the optometrist; The priority of other patients took precedent over my appointment with the Dr. apparently. After 2 hours I still did not receive the prescription for the lenses that I came for. I was assured they would be mailed, but 5 days later I still don't have the prescription. read more

My family, including my 2 daughters, my elderly mother and I have been going to Dr. Duzman for 5+ years. Their entire staff is very professional. We love shopping for new glasses with Teo's expertise. Both Father and sons Duzman are great and very personable. My mom has been going to them for a number of years, had her cataract surgeries successfully done by them and also participates in eye studies which have benefitted her financially. I like Dr. Duzman. I generally see the father (in this father-son operation). He is experienced, thorough, and friendly. The father is older, of course, and has an accent which to an unfamiliar ear may sound grumpy, but he is actually a warm and gentle person. His office staff is first rate, and everything is set up so that a patient can move easily from one type of operation to another, from physical examining of the eyes (ophthalmology) to vision-testing to eyeglasses (optometry ). Most insurance is accepted and any expenses not covered by insurance are quite reasonable. read more

I had a terrible experience with this doctor Effraim Duzman. He's grumpy, slow and rude to his patients. When he examed my father's eyes, he kept demanding my father to move his head to this direction, that direction with a rude tone of voice. Dr. Duzman got cranky and very impatient when my dad (82 y.o with a history of stroke) wasn't able to follow his instructions quickly enough. He is one of the worst doctors I have ever met. Never come to Dr. Duzman. He has absolutely zero repsect for patients. read more

I was referred to this doctor by my insurance, so I had to expect that it would be okay. The wait was about 45 minutes, even though I arrived 15 minutes early. Secondly, I mentioned that I did not want to have my eyes diulated and they were anyway and the medicine I was given gave me a terrible headache. The exam itself was standard, but the doctor appeared to be more interested in small talk, my personal apperarance and gave me a general "creepy, old guy vibe." He gave me three options on what could be done regarding my issue. I decided to go with what I was under the impression would be the least expensive: eye drops! Upon going to CVS to get the prescripion filled, I told the pharmacy tech that $68 dollars was out of the question and that I would call the doctor the following business day to get another equivalent product. The person who answered at the front desk basically said "that's all there is, there is no generic, blah, blah, blah." I called my insurance and they provided names of similar products. I had to call the pharmacy and they said that upon calling the doctor's office, the front desk person was "extremely unhelpful" and her attitude was even worse. I left another message with the doctor to please give his approval for another medication and it ultimately fell on deaf ears. I had to spend the entire weekend in pain all because he didn't feel like returning a phone call. Going to see this creep was a complete waste of time and now I have to make another appt in the hopes of receiving the proper care I should have the first time around. If you don't mind being treated like just another insurance file, then by all means go here. It's really disappointing that I had to deal with a doctor who could care less about treating his patients with the care and respect that they deserve. I hope enough people see my post to stay away from this incompetent office and unprofessional doctor. read more

Absolutely awful experience here. When I finally saw the optometrist here, it was after waiting for about 40 minutes in patient waiting room area. When I got inside, it looks like there were so many people that the doctor had to see. He was running around seeing at least three other patients simultaneously. Overbooking? I didn't feel like I got the attention I deserved. I will not go back here and don't recommend it.This is not a place to which I ever want to return.I smell insurance fraud. read more
