We are regulars at various Egg Harbor locations but had never been to this location and were in the area one day so thought might as well try it out. Maybe I've been spoiled by the other Egg Harbors as this one was rather disappointing. Food: Not cold, but you could tell it wasn't straight off the grill. Most noticeably with the potatoes which hard on the outside but not because they were crispy but because they had been sitting out for too long. Service: The reason I will not be returning or recommend this location to anyone. We went around lunchtime and the place wasn't even that crowded. Not even close to full capacity as the other locations are whenever we visit. Despite this, staff seemed frazzled and rushed our meal which I didn't not appreciate. Definitely more of a "hurry up" service feel maybe because there are a lot of businesses in the area and workers who go here on their lunch break and are in a hurry, but we were clearly non-business people who were there just to enjoy a lunch. We were given our check well before we were even halfway done with our meal and nobody checked on us after we had gotten the check. Also saw containers and checks being placed on a nearby table and when they asked why (clearly not even close to done with their meal) the server said it's so they can be out on the floor attending to other tables. As if they are so busy with a less than half full restaurant. So yes, they do care about turning over tables here more than providing a decent dining experience. TL;DR: I didn't read the reviews for this location before I visited but I should have. Lukewarm food and at best sub-par service. Best to visit the other good Egg Harbors in the area. read more

The staff was amazing with trying to accommodate my requests for seating. I had arranged to take a business call, but forgot that they were usually crazy busy and isn't the best place for lingering. I was able to take the call, and the staff didn't make me feel as if my working a bit after was a bother-I did keep watching to be sure they didn't have a line. I thought their efforts were commendable. On the food: The Sweet Ali's Gluten-Free pancakes were incredible, as always. I recommend paying a little extra to get the real maple syrup. I also spring for lobster substitution on the supreme potatoes. Just that for breakfast...Winning! read more

We came to the egg harbor cafe for breakfast. My mom has a service dog who is documented and licensed. The male manager named Josh was horrible. I was completely disgusted and embarrassed how badly he treated my family. He should be fired. I will never go to this establishment again as long as he is employed. Who demeans and crucifies a person with a service dog? What a joke! Make sure you don't have a disability if you're wanting to have a nice breakfast here. read more

This place is a good breakfast place. I got a sandwhich and it was pretty good. It was pastrami, rye bread and some other stuff on it. The pastrami was different from what I am used too. It was good. I did have to add some mustard too it also. The fries were good that came with my sandwhich too. If I am in the area again I will stop by for sure. read more

I ordered a skillet to be delivered by Door dash which was actually pretty quick. The skillet was "ok" definitely nothing to brag about here. The portion was very small. I mean if your going to charge $12 for a skillet at least make it a bigger portion. Let alone it was small, it was mostly potatoes and it was suppose to be a all meat skillet not a potato skillet. The only thing it came with was a English muffin. No pancakes??????! Not happy at all with this place. Restaurants/businesses wonder why they don't make money or why they close after a certain amount of time. Maybe if you cared just a little bit more about your customers and a little less about your profit margin you will be more successful. read more

Customer service was good. However I believe it is rather expensive for the quality and quantity of food that you receive. I came in with high expectations and left unsatisfied. Almost nearly spending $20 on a chicken sandwich that usually cost anywhere from 10-13 at any other brunch restaurant I wasn't contempt. We went there a few times in 2018 and the food wasn't as good so I'm dropping them down to four stars. Egg dishes were still great but they forgot how to properly toast their English muffins and bread. Comes out either burnt or barely toasted. What a great experience! The food was delicious and fresh. On top of that, I ordered a specialty drink. After finishing the drink, I didn't think to ask for a refill because usually that doesn't come with those drinks. However, one of the managers, Zach, came by and offered to get me my refill because I hadn't gotten it and it DID come with the beverage. He was so wonderful and nice! I prob won't return! Service was very slow and waiter seemed like he could care less! He forgot our bacon with our order and when he finally brought it out it was 4 slices of pure fat! He of course took off so fast so I had too get out of my seat and find the manager. I told her there was no way I could eat this bacon! She fairly quickly brought out new order which was much better. But honestly who is running the kitchen there? U can't serve bacon like that! My banana bread French toast was terrible and dry! My daughters pancake came with no butter either on it or on the side, so I had to hunt down the waiter just for some butter. I've had 100 percent better breakfast at IHOP, Waffle House and Dennys! My kids love the rainbow pancakes but for me the food is average to below average omelet is flat and links come out cold. English muffin came without the jam, the potatoes were barely cooked and had no Brown barely so for me naaa for the kids yes. This is my new favorite Egg Harbor Cafe. Ample parking, easy to get to, and they can accommodate a large party of 8 without a wait. This is a great place to go as a family. Since they don't take reservations, we have waited a considerable amount of time at other downtown locations throughout the suburbs, but this location is our new favorite. Great service, a lot of windows, and twice the size! I do wish there were more low carb salad options. They have 3 salads and none of them are basic lean protein and veggies. But the breakfast options are terrific. read more

This is one of the best breakfast menus we've ever seen. Recently switched to their summer menu, we were told the fare would be lighter, but we left with full bellies and a box! The first thing you notice is the clean, modern country decor and friendly, but bustling staff. We were seated immediately and it is easy to see why. The clean up turnover is exceptional, so tables don't stay empty long. We had the lemon poppy pancakes with a side of cherrywood bacon and the chicken sausage and goat cheese scrambler. The batter for the pancakes was perfect- not too sweet, not too lemony, and three light fluffy pancakes. The scrambler came with gently seasoned potatoes and an already buttered English muffin. Already buttered makes all the difference. Good attention to detail. If you are staying in the Western Suburbs, this breakfast is a Chicago must! read more

You may want to wait a bit before visiting this location! The new paint smell is a bit overwhelming. They definitely have some kinks to work out. Service was good, although one of our orders was incorrect, it happens! The lettuce in the salad was so wet, there was a puddle of water on the bottom of the bowl, lettuce soup! I'm sure it will eventually get up to Egg Harbor standards. Hopefully the paint odor will dissipate , because it is really off putting! They also charged extra for adding jalepenos to the Chilaquilas, really? It's nice that they now offer a choice of iced tea, plain or the usual black currant. Simply, the cinnamon rolls are a celiac's dream and are so insanely delicious, anyone who loves a good cinnamon roll, is going to love these! This Egg Harbor is harder to find, but worth getting lost for. No grease swimming on your plate, no abundance of sodium and/or sugar inundating your breakfast. Just a delicious, traditional breakfast. Sure, there's an acai bowl that looks amazing, and some of the pancakes have a wonderful aroma, but if it's a Traditional Breakfast you're craving, there's no need to go anywhere else. First, the service is friendly, helpful and patron's are not pushed out the door. Secondly, the eggs are super fresh and super tasty, the potatoes are perfectly seasoned, yet not at all salty or greasy. Bacon is crisp and crunchy without a hint of grease.The english muffin is perfect and with that delicious jam - YUM. The perfect bread accompaniment. Little touches mean a lot here, a pot of fresh coffee on the table, lemon slices in the perfectly chilled water, fresh squeezed OJ that's deliciously smooth. We came here for the first time recently, fingers crossed, hoping for a good breakfast. It exceeded all expectations. I love the option of turkey bacon or chicken sausage in addition to the standard pork. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy and perfect. The eggs were cheesy and delicious. Been coming to Egg Harbor quite a while now. I usually go to the one in Naperville as that is the closest to my house. However, I work right by this location so it was nice to swing by at lunch. When they first opened the portion sizes were perfect, always left feeling full. Then it seemed to go down hill a little. I normally will either get the potatoes with cheese and another side or a more hearty breakfast like the down home. Lately I feel like the skimp on the potatoes with cheese - those bowls used to be quite full. Now you are lucky to get it half full. So needless to say I stopped going. I went back today and it was the worst experience, first of all I didn't even know who my server was. I must have had 4 different people come to the table. The potatoes and cheese were only half full. To make matters worse the guy that I'm pretty sure was supposed to be my server rushed me out to get the table turned over. Super poor service if you ask me. Needless to say there are tons of choices here in Oak Brook and those that serve a better breakfast at a better price. I have tried this place twice. First time, they didn't give me the Harbor Potatoes with my meal. I paid around $10 for a skillet and I'm pretty sure the Big Breakfast at McDonald's came with more food. Today I ordered the Poblano Eggs Benedict. I am sorry to say this, but it may have been the worse meal I have ever had. No ingredient complimented the other. It was as if a freshman in college came up with the meals. Also, roasted potatoes are probably the simplest item that any 5 year old can make. Even by adding condiments to them, I had to force them down. Poor experience!!! Only met the server when he handed us our check. Had to ask somebody else who our server is after waiting for more than 5 mins. And we were served by 3 different people. People after us were served by "josh" with their orders taken, but the mysterious "josh" never acknowledged us. Wonder why? Spoke to the the manager after this whole bad and horrible experience and the only response she can give you is I will talk to "josh" the server who we never met! So sad because we have been going to this place even when they were still located at Yorktown for many years.
