The stage was wild to see and needed a bit of explaining which was done immediately. The voices all worked perfectly together. It was laugh out loud funny--even though I didn't fully understand some of the Catholic school references (I'm Jewish). It was irreverent, too, with some of the innuendos. Loved it!!

At least on the main floor in the first 20 rows. I don't know about the ones in the back or in the balcony. I believe Thai also still have brunch or dinner packages that include tickets to the theatre. We went to see Father of the Bride, a cute comedy about a daughter's wedding and all the chaos that occurs.

This is not a Bears-themed steakhouse as much as it is a steakhouse with some Ditka art. Don't expect to see wall to wall memorabilia. But what this place does exceptionally well is food and service. The attentiveness was perfect - not obsequious, not absent. I ate lots of different sides and they were all good: the house salad; oven-fired bread; jalapeño hasbrowns; etc. Even though I did not try any of the entrees or steaks, this is clearly a restaurant for people who care about food.

The server explained the crabcakes are made earlier in the day not at order. Suggestion, approach with caution unless you favor ball park mustard in excessive quantities. The chopped coleslaw accompanied the order allowed for an addition insult...a mouthful of diced onion. The service was professional and handled this situation without complaint. Hopefully The management will try a tasting and revise recipes, or caution customers.

The overall experience of the location is polished, with a clear flow, very good layout, and nice separation (despite being an open space) between "the bar" and the rest of the activities. Not too many obnoxious kids when we went (although some are a given due to the nature of the place and the town it's in). Staff was beyond incredible. Everyone seemed to care deeply about customer experience, cleanliness, and safety.

Shopping mall chic?…read more If you've spent any time near a mall in the suburbs, there are a few staples you'll inevitably come across, one of them being Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse at 2105 S. Spring Rd. Gibsons has long been known as a go-to for a slightly upscale steakhouse experience in the suburbs. I hadn't been in years, but we were in the area and decided to go somewhere a bit nicer for dinner to celebrate my birthday, so we gave Gibsons another try. One highlight was the complimentary valet service, it was quick, easy, and very efficient. The restaurant was busy with lots of families and celebrations. The interior has a classic, almost mob-era steakhouse vibe, reminiscent of old-school 1930s-40s Italian-American dining rooms. Service was friendly and accommodating throughout the night. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and for my entrée I had a ribeye with a side of potatoes and broccoli. My friend ordered a filet mignon salad. We also shared a side salad. The food was solid overall, but the salads were a bit watery, and the ranch dressing was just okay. The steak was good, but not quite the standout I expected given the price point, ribs are close to $70, so expectations are understandably high. Everything felt consistent, but not particularly memorable. That said, Gibsons does feel very steady and familiar, which may be part of its appeal. It's the kind of place people return to because they know exactly what they're going to get. Even the bread was fine, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. One of the more memorable (and amusing) parts of the experience was the birthday tradition. I still can't fully make out what they're saying during the birthday song, it's loud, a bit barked, and honestly both funny and slightly intimidating. I can't decide if I love it or would be terrified by it as a kid. There was also an interesting moment with dessert, my ice cream was placed in a plastic bag inside a box of ice. Creative, but not exactly elegant. I definitely didn't eat it, but it was memorable in its own way. Overall, if you're looking for a consistent, classic steakhouse experience that leans more familiar than elevated, Gibsons fits that role. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I wish I could post a video of the servers whizzing in and out of the kitchen. They were amazing. And BUSY! So naturally, service was a little slow, but we flagged our waitress when needed. The food made up for any delay. Our drinks were good, and the bread was delicious. I had the garbage salad, which was yummy. When I showed this to the waitress, she simply said sorry and had no explanation for how it got there. She offered either to speak to a manager or remake the burger, so I chose a remake. They brought out complimentary soup while I waited, and the second burger arrived without any toothpick. However, at the end of the night I was shocked that the waitress did not comp the burger despite the serious safety incident. This could have resulted in dental damage, mouth lacerations, or internal bleeding. The restaurant showed zero accountability or genuine concern for my well being. I used to visit every couple of months in every year, but after this experience I will not be returning. This is completely unacceptable. Also, even the cheese cakes are shrinking and the one I got was half of what it was last year. The place is spiralling into sad state of what used to be a place I really loved to go to.

We ended the night with four desserts, and every single one was delicious, especially the banana split. It wasn't your typical banana split sundae -- the caramelized banana gave it a rich, flavorful twist that made it unique and unforgettable. DRINKS: I started with the Rosé Spritz while everyone else ordered different cocktails. After trying mine, we all loved it so much that we ordered the same drink for the second round. It's not overly strong and has a slightly tart flavor, but it ended up being one of my favorite cocktails ever. I'll definitely order it again.
