Well, the decade+ long Egg Harbor streak continues for us. That is, we've yet to visit an Egg Harbor wherein we didn't love the brunch experience. And so far that includes the Naperville, Glenview, Lincolnshire (now closed for some reason), and now Schaumburg locations. We came on a nice relaxed Friday morning, but I'm not sure I would want to be at this popular location on a weekend though. Wife had their 1/2 Door County chicken salad with a cup of black bean chicken chili ($14.50), and I had their Gregg's chili and eggs omelette ($13.00). Both come with a muffin, whipped butter, and a nice raspberry jam and were tip-top delish. This location has Egg Harbor's typically airy, naturally lit, and homey and inviting dining room, and there are two of those here actually. Their coffee, which is their own brand, is of good flavor and strong, and they conveniently leave a carafe full for the table. Dany was our friendly and attentive lady server and we found all of the staff here to be welcoming and friendly. Great brunch stop, and we'll surely be back at an Egg Harbor Cafe sooner or later. read more

Great place for a girlfriends' brunch! Egg Harbor Cafe is a chain brunch restaurant with wonderful quality food for decent prices. When we first entered, we noticed that everything was designed nicely to accommodate to a homey atmosphere. Despite it being very busy and crowded, it wasn't too loud and we were seated right away. For food, I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict which was wonderful. My only complaint is that the potatoes were pale in color and slightly undercooked. I was a little disappointed by this because great breakfast potatoes is crucial to any brunch place! My friends ordered the San Antonio Skillet and a Traditional Breakfast with French Toast. They noted that both meals were great and they were happy with their choices. Additionally, the staff were very accommodating for substitutions. The prices overall were decent especially for the quality of food and a little cheaper compared to some other brunch places in the area. The service was alright. It did seem as though our waitress was quite stressed as she didn't really engage with us besides just getting our orders and giving us the check. However, we were understanding that it may have been because they were busy that day. On the other hand, we thought that it was nice that the manager personally came to stop by and check in on us and the food. Overall, we had a pretty good experience, and I would recommend coming here for brunch! read more

Local brunch chain that I try to visit when I'm in the area. I stopped by early, since they tend to get busy later in the morning. A had an omelette and latte, both of which arrived promptly. Staff is friendly, and I didn't have to wait too long for anything, I got there a bit after 7am, so it was fairly quiet, but it gets a bit louder when they get busy read more

Can't believe it took me this long to finally try Egg Harbor! I heard great things and it definitely lived up to the hype. This breakfast & lunch place has a large menu with tons of yummy and neat options. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs and a side of their Cherrywood bacon. The avocado toast is a slice of sourdough toast topped with smashed avocado, arugula, and grape tomato with a squeeze of lemon and a fig balsamic drizzle. It comes with 2 eggs served however style you want. WOW, it was delectable! And literally gone in 5 minutes. Sorry not sorry. I definitely want to try their skillets next time I'm here! The service here is unmatched. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and always has a smile on their face. I cannot remember my server's name for the life of me, but she was wonderful! It does get busy here quickly, so definitely reserve your spot on their waitlist on their website. This location also had ample parking all around the restaurant. The food here was most definitely high quality and I loved every bite! I will for sure be returning for another bangin' breakfast. I can't wait to show my family this place! read more

I always come here with my in-laws and the food is just amazing. Everything that I have had here was truly excellent. I can always come here and know I will be satisfied with an amazing experience and amazing food. Servers are always extremely sweet. Ambience is amazing and it is so easy to have great conversation and bonding time with friends and family. This burger blew my mind, quite possibly the best burger I have ever had, and from a breakfast place nonetheless! This place definitely has the homie feel when you walk in. We were greeted and sat immediately, which was a great start. I had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, which had flavor out of this universe. The server also said that was his favorite as well. I like that he was very attentive to our needs. The eggs were nice and fluffy, and the French Toast cooked perfectly. Definitely give this place a go if you're in town. They also look to accommodate larger parties and families. read more

My family & I had breakfast on Tuesday March 22nd @ 11am before our shopping trip at Woodfield mall. As soon as we walked in we were greeted & seated immediately. The decor, service, menu & drink selections were great. The restaurant was spacious & our waitress was kind. Our orders consists of: biscuits w/ sausage gravy, eggs potatoes, lobster omelette w/ potatoes, English muffin, strawberry jam & meat skillet w/ chicken sausage which I added instead of ham, bacon & regular sausage, potatoes, English muffin & strawberry jam. This is always a highlight of our twice a year trips to Schaumburg. We appreciate the attention to allergies and the food is always amazing. The lemon poppyseed pancakes are melt in your mouth delicious, by far the best item on the menu. The cinnamon roll French toast is an occasional treat, Rich and tasty. We balance out every meal with proteins so we get one of the skillets with vegetables and the flavor combinations you can make are endless, today we made artichoke with tomato and spinach. Definitely check them out if you are in the area, you can't possibly go wrong and you will be back every single day you are there, I know we always are! read more

Newer location for this breakfast chain. Definitely crowded but they do not take reservations. You can access the waitlist on Yelp. I've been to several of these restaurants, and all of them are decorated nicely, very homey type atmosphere and cute decorations for the season. Even though they were very busy everyone from the hostess to our server was exceptionally kind, friendly, and had great customer service skills. For me, I love their unsweetened iced tea and that they also give you a small picture to pour yourself more iced tea. Also, our server was kind enough to give me a glass to go. I would say the meals are somewhat smaller and portion than some of the other breakfast restaurants. The food is always on point and is hot and taste great. The only disappointment I had was paying for the maple bourbon bacon. as much as I like my bacon, a little undercooked, this was way too raw. And essentially it was bacon sitting in a little puddle of maybe some brown sugar or something? It didn't taste well. It certainly didn't taste like maple or with a bourbon like flavoring. I did not ask the serverfor another serving just because it was a Saturday and they were super busy. For me, I wouldn't order again. Otherwise, I highly recommend! read more

Took a while to seat our party of 5 on a busy weekend morning, but we didn't feel rushed out of our table either. The place was clean and welcoming and I was very glad they left a coffee carafe on the table. What a great place. I was staying at a hotel across the street and walked over for a quick breakfast. The place was clean, warm, and inviting. I ate here fairly often in the pre-pandemic era, but it's been a while, for no particular reason. I've always had great food and service here. A good friend of mine recently told me how much he enjoyed the habanero hash and eggs, so off I went. Parking is a breeze. It was a Monday morning so I was seated and served quickly. The habanero hash & eggs was delicious! It had just the right amount of heat. The chorizo was seamlessly blended into the hash which was nice (because frankly, I don't enjoy big hunks of chorizo). The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the service was excellent as always. Now, let's talk table tents. Yes, table tents - those sometimes annoying structures of either plastic or cardboard that you have shoved off to the side as you and your friends sit down at a booth in a sports bar or cafe. They're usually touting either some new monthly special or a list of fancy cocktails. As annoying as they are, they can be a brilliant, inexpensive marketing tool. It may be unintentional, but if not, it's effective when they set those right in the middle, so you almost have to move them aside. And as you do, you see the picture and the words "Try our new strawberry sauerkraut chicken wings." What?? Well, sometimes you see something actually tasty and tempting (flavored margaritas come to mind), and boom - you order it. Such was the case when I saw a lovely photo of Egg Harbor's Rose White Mocha. I was just planning on having coffee, but not now! I've got to have this! Well, I ordered it and it was tasty. Afterwards, I reread the table tent ad, and it listed Monin rose syrup, chocolate syrup, etc, topped with whipped cream and rose petals. Rose petals? No....I didn't just eat rose petals? I took another look at the photo and yep, I ate rose petals. Well, although they had no taste, I'm certain that they were harmless, I hope I don't start aimlessly reciting Shakespeare in conversations or anything. All kidding aside, fantastic meal and service. I'll be back soon, and I'll be trying that lobster seafood egg scramble that I also saw on that table tent. read more

Finishing up my girls weekend we went to Egg Harbor for a late breakfast. Take advantage of the online waitlist or you will be waiting forever. The online list lets you put your name on the list and let's you know how many ppl are in front of you. This allows you to continue with your day instead of just waiting. I ordered the strawberry mimosa and was underwhelmed. The glass is tiny and you can't taste strawberry at all. My skillet was delicious and I traded the English muffin for a biscuit with honey butter. The biscuit was soft in the middle with a nice crispy edge. The service was fast and friendly. If you are in the area you have to check them out. read more

Food was good, service was quick, and it was nice and cozy. I'm putting four stars because of my preference. I come from an Asian/Polynesian cultural background and ordered a skillet labeled as spicy. It was not spicy at all. The only thing in there was some jalapeños that had little to no presence in the skillet. So this is good news if you have no spice tolerance, but to me this was lower than low in spice tolerance. I doused it in hot sauce. Otherwise really good, but that's just my personal taste! read more

Good brunch spot! We arrived at 12:50 and they close at 2 so it was good timing. We were greeted and seated immediately which is rare for EHC. There has usually been a wait when we arrive earlier. I've always liked Egg Harbor Cafe in Glenview and the Deerfield location, being closer to home. So I decided to give the Schaumburg location a try because of work and was not disappointed. It was certainly a quiet location for a Friday morning and very clean. Was greeted promptly upon arrival with a friend. Our server was very courteous and made sure everything was going smoothly. The coffee was really good and I'm a bit of a coffee snob. The biscuits were delish, butter was cold but melted on contact. The homemade jam was very tasty, like a mix of raspberry/strawberry without any seeds. I ordered the traditional breakfast with bacon. I was very pleased with the portion size and cooking of my meal. I remember after my family and I just got off the airplane, we stopped here for breakfast back in June 13, 2019. The place is nice and quiet, and serene. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! Wow, this restaurant is AMAZING !! Despite not yet having their summer patio furniture available, they accommodated our request to eat outside with our two young kids, who are not able to be vaccinated against COVID yet. They even brought out a folding table so we had enough room! Plus - we are gluten free. They have a special menu for GF and we couldn't resist the GF cinnamon roll!!!! #ThankYouThursday for keeping us safe over a lovely breakfast and meetup with a family member. So glad I had the chance to dine in before the closure. 5+ stars for following all the COVID-19 safety measures. I left feeling completely safe. Wowza, talk about a clean and well-prepped restaurant! After being seated in our safe booth, with plexi between all the booths, and no other tables nearby, our server came out to help us navigate the ordering system. BTW, our server was wearing a shield and a mask. The experience was quite surreal. There were no menus on the table, but a card with a scannable QR code to pull up the menu on our phones. Though we paid at the register, it was also an option to pay right from our phones. The restaurant was fairly empty. I could tell they were doing a great job of following all the capacity rules. The tables were completely bare, with no condiments or silverware. Utensils were brought out with our food (I would have been fine with plastic). Finally...on to the food. I ordered the Dynamite Veggie White omelet with a side of fruit instead of potatoes. Cage free egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and tomatoes, red and green peppers topped with salsa. Portion size was just right. Phenomenal service, amazing food and friendly people. I have been a regular at egg Harbor Café for some time and I am always surprised at how professional and energetic their staff is at all locations, especially Schaumburg. Today I forgot to ask for no bread due to the fact I have a wheat allergy. The management was very proactive in fixing a situation that was not their fault at all. They are always quick to get you the check and their hot beverages are incredible. Also, the restaurant's atmosphere is great for business meetings, family meet ups, book club, or even personal relaxation. On a closing note, EHC is not utilizing straws anymore and it is great to know they care about the planet and future generations. I will ALWAYS be a loyal customer of Egg Harbor Café. read more

Pull out the "daylight" and put in a soft/warm kelvin bulb please! Hurts my eyes. Ok- the food. I ordered a 2-egg breakfast; subbed the hashies for rye toast, chose the sausage option, and upped the order to include two crepes with lingonberry sauce (always a sucker for lingonberry sauce, you know?). I was told the food would take a bit longer due to the crepes - didn't matter to me, really; couldn't be a huge delays could it? Naw, it wasn't. The food came out- ok, then! Let's check it out - the scrambled eggs and sausage were perfectly acceptable. The toast was not buttered (NO!) but was right outta the toaster- and man, that counted! As I started munchin' away, I noted the crepes seemed- well- a bit well done? Well, yeah. Like, on one crepe? The end of the crepe was hard and almost- but not quite- burnt. Yikes. I still ate it. It was relatively good, sure. But who over-cooks crepes? Can't say it was fantastic. Now, I don't have anything bad to say about the server- she was super nice and awesome! But fix up the seating/lights, please, as well as the crepes? You'll be in "5" territory in no time!

There is something for every taste bud. I ordered the Al Pacino and my son a tuna sandwich. The portions are huge, the meat is fresh, thinly sliced and piled high. I smell it through the bag and couldn't wait until I got home to taste it. With the first bite, I was absolutely blown away. There is no comparison because the flavors out performs every sandwich shop in the area. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and I know I will certainly return again and again. What a wonderful gem!

We got in as someone was leaving. We asked how to access the building, and the cashier was really dismissive of our request. We asked for sandwich recs and the cashier was really reluctant and standoffish. After I got my sandwich, my wife said "thank you" and the cashier had zero response. It really must be hard times in the restaurant business to resort to getting help like this. I cannot recommend this play and I will not be going back. Maybe the original shop in the city is better. The sandwich itself won't be reviewed bc of the bitterness and rush in which I came to write this review.

I showed her the ad, where it specifically states the Schaumburg location is participating, and gave her the offer code, which is valid for the entire month of August. She continued to object and made a big production of making a phone call to find out if they'd let her honor the advertisement. She couldn't reach whoever she was calling, and told us in an annoyed tone that she'd honor it THIS TIME, indicating that we shouldn't bother returning to take advantage of the deal the store is advertising. The whole experience was very off-putting and I think customers and corporate need to be aware that locations may not be honoring the promos that are being blasted out in sponsored ads. My friend and I each drove 30 minutes for lunch and chose our restaurant solely based on this offer. The food was good, but the awful customer service definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Two weeks later, Corner Bakery is still promoting this deal at the Schaumburg location. If I knew the offer would be honored without a fight, I'd be back, but based on my last experience, it's not worth the risk.

This is not one of those stories. This is the story of MOQA, where somebody apparently came all the way from Kyrgyzstan, discovered American brunch culture, and made the catastrophic decision to imitate it... poorly. The place looks great. Clean, modern, polished. And then there's the P.O.A. Index. Completely f%*%#ing unhinged. Not just the staff. The entire building. Everywhere I looked there was another absurdly attractive woman working, drinking coffee, eating brunch, typing on a laptop, or otherwise innocently going about her morning while pushing the room's average attractiveness into statistically irresponsible territory. It felt less like a café and more like somebody had accidentally scheduled a casting call for Women Who Will Absolutely Ruin Your Life and forgot to tell me. Whatever was happening in Elk Grove Village that morning, MOQA was ground zero. Naturally, this created expectations. Then the food showed up. The breakfast sausage was a hot dog. Not hot-dog-like. Not some adventurous Central Asian interpretation of breakfast sausage. A hot dog sitting next to eggs pretending nobody would notice. I noticed. Then came the waffles. Something had gone terribly wrong. A waffle has three jobs: crispy outside, soft inside, transport syrup into your mouth. Humanity solved this problem centuries ago. MOQA has somehow reopened the investigation. These waffles seemed confused about what they were, why they existed, and whether breakfast was even the correct career path. I ordered a burger... I've had better ones at elementary school cafeterias. Sauced to the hilt with something gross, bland patty that was obviously premade, and even bacon jam couldn't save it. They even f*#%ed up toast. Toast! And that's really the problem with the whole menu. You came from Kyrgyzstan, a place with an actual culinary identity, and somehow wound up making brunch for people who drive white Teslas and say, "Let's circle back after Pilates." Why? That's an insane trade. Give me Kyrgyz breakfast. Give me Central Asian food. Give me bread, eggs, meat, dairy, tea, something with history, character, and enough personality to make me wonder what the hell I just ordered. Give me breakfast with a g**d*** point of view. I don't need Kyrgyz immigrants explaining waffles to me. America already has IHOP. We have committed enough crimes. MOQA already has the beautiful space. It has the atmosphere. It has friendly staff. It has a P.O.A. Index requiring scientific notation. Now it needs to stop pretending Elk Grove Village desperately needs another vaguely upscale American brunch concept. Embrace Kyrgyzstan. But for the love of God: Throw away the hot dogs. Fix the waffles. Cook the food you actually know.

The server consistently came by and asked if we needed refills or anything else. They asked my friend if he wanted more coffee. The place was well lit and seating was plentiful. Restrooms were CLEAN. We definitely will be back.
