We ordered the chicken skewers, scrambled egg and cheese omelet bacon, Longanisa and sausage sandwiches. We loved the sandwiches since the meats were seasoned well. To start, if I was able to factor in the service into the rating, then I would've given it a lower score but it's more about the quality of the food. However, this place is located at a golf course. You wouldn't be able to know it's a restaurant from the outside. The service was not good - our order got skipped and we waited for almost an hour for our food. Thought I had a review of this place from a long time ago. We used to come here almost every weekend when we lived in Reston. This place is truly a hidden gem. Offers Filipino food with a lot of street food options. We love their breakfast sandwiches - the egg is gooey and fresh made, and the buns are nice and soft. We came here for a special event and decided to return with my in laws. We came on a Sunday, which is when they have specials and some traditional dishes. This place is located in the Herndon golf course. Kind of odd, but there's plenty of parking and seating inside. We were 6, so we pulled two small tables together to eat. We had longanisa on brioche, arroz caldo balls, lumpia, and the chicken adobo and pancit specials. I'm amazed how they make the arroz caldo ball. They serve three balls each a little smaller than a tennis ball. It has great flavor and it doesn't fall apart when you take a bite. Just about anything tastes great on brioche, and longanisa is no exception. I was starving and ate it in 5 bites, but I do think it's filling enough for anyone else. The lumpia was good, though no better or worse than I'd get at a family gathering. Same with the adobo and pancit. Not sure if my in laws had any opinion on the place, but I know my husband and I enjoyed it. The fact that it's not in D.C. makes the prices more acceptable than Filipino food in the city. read more

Pretty unusual as this restaurant is essentially the snack bar at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. That said, it's definitely not your average snack bar. The breakfast sandwiches are spot on with a nicely cooked over easy egg and your choice of meat (chorizo, sausage, longanisa etc). I probably ingested more than 200% my daily intake of sodium, from my small lunch bowl alone. +They offer some cool items; i.e., ube waffle and spam fries. +The location and concept is cool; reminds me of Egg Slut from the West Coast. +Their point-of-sale system is by Square, which sends me automatic digital receipts (saves paper, saves the earth). -I found a hair in my Silog Breakfast Bowl, which made me understand why they have a health department score of 90 out of 100. The cashier lady who prepared my food was definitely not wearing a hair net or gloves. Unfortunately; I was on my last 2-3 bites, so I just went about finishing my meal and not escalating this matter to a staff member. -My co-worker ordered large french fries for us to share. They weren't piping hot, just mildly warm, which ended up being cold fries by the middle of our meal. -No loyalty rewards program. It would be nice to see them roll out with LevelUp or some other mobile app to promote patronage. -The price to food portion may not be justified by some. I thought I could have been given more meat, for the extra 3.18 charge. -Would love to see lechon kawali one the menu. -The food was super greasy; a little too greasy for me. -The restaurant ventilation could be better. Cute little eatery on a golf course. They serve breakfast foods and lunch. Order at the counter and pick up your food when they buzz your pager. Their kitchen is really small, just to the left of the cashier, also where you pick up your food. The dining area has plenty of natural light coming in from the big windows. Ube Waffle w/ Fried Chicken - the ube syrup was spot on, it really had the ube taste I was looking for, they start you off with a small cup of it, 2oz. Syrup was not enough, but ask and they give you more. The waffle was a little flat, didnt really hold its waffle form so it was more like a thick, dry pancake. I thought it had a sour taste to it too so the extra syrup helped a lot. The chicken had a nicely seasoned breading, the crunch was nice but it was a bit dry when it came to the meat. We came here on a Saturday morning since we were in the area. We ordered the ube waffle and silog to share. The restaurant was not busy at this time but we came after a large party of about 8, so we were prepared to wait. However, after over an hour, the party ahead of us had already been served and we noticed parties that came after us were also being served. I used to go to Egg Karne at least once a month when I lived in the area, I left and just tried them today for the first time in 6 months and boy have they changed for the worst. To start off their website is completely broken, I ordered some rice bowls and on the website you can ask for 2 meats but when went to pick up my food they told me that I'm not allowed to ask for more than 1 meat if I don't pay extra so they told me "we picked one meat for you and gave you that", I wouldn't have cared to pay extra but maybe give me a call and let me know that your website is a lie and I have to pay extra for the extra meat and let ME choose the meat I actually want. Second, they changed their popular ube waffle! It used to be a fluffy and light egg waffle but I got a tasteless dense regular looking waffle and they forgot to give me the syrup which was very disappointing because it was just a dry piece of nothing without it. Lastly, they forgot an item on our order.
