I've gone here for many years and it's always delicious. The crab cheese wontons are the best!

We went with ERKE because it as a Monday and our go-to Chinese restaurant was closed. Egg rolls were huge and awesome; our dinner was great with one exception. The fried rice did not meet our expectations at all. Not a lot of flavor. But next time we order, we will definitely skip the fried rice. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!! I know Chinese can be hit or miss (more often miss than not), but this food was truly hands-down the worst Chinese food I have ever attempted to eat. The terriyaki sauce was ice cold and crystallized... not sure if it was from being cold or old. Have never seen such a thing. Everything was bland and tasteless. Order was over $40 for two peoples' dinners and appetizers. Tried a couple bites of everything and just ended up throwing it away. I made the mistake of ordering delivery...turned out to be a big mistake. I ordered what I have ordered before and got something else! I have a food allergy and always order what I can eat so when I got this ordered I was not able to eat it. I spend nearly $40.00 and have almost nothing to show for money spent. I did call and got an argument and then they asked well what do we do now? I didn't want another try at another delivery but they would not refund even part of my order...WON'T be ordering from them again. Why risk it? Best egg rolls in Aurora, and maybe the whole metro area!!!! And they have wonderful and fast delivery! When we want Chinese, this is the first place we call! Always get at least three wontons in my soup and the food is delicious! We love the family deal because we have dinner for at least two nights and maybe a lunch the next day! So my girlfriend and I were in the parking lot and we were hungry... We both agreed that some Chinese food would hit the spot and were up for trying a new joint. Egg Roll King East was the place we walked into. We were greeted promptly and seated immediately after. They asked if we prefer a booth or table (nice gesture I think). Drink orders were taken and we started to look over the menu. We noticed right away we were the only people sitting down in the restaurant to eat dinner. However over the course of our meal there was a steady string of people coming and going for take out. Their menu has a mix of Thai cuisine, Chinese and some Vietnamese dishes. A good selection with prices right in line with what to expect. We opted to stick with Chinese and ordered the family dinner for two. Choice of soup, a couple egg rolls, a few cream cheese won-tons, and choice of two entrees. I went with the twice cooked pork, my girl ordered up combination lo mien. The egg drop soup was just OK, pretty thick and sorta bland... The egg rolls and won-tons were awesome! I guess they at least live up to their name! The entrees were good, but nothing spectacular. I think the twice cooked pork was much better than the lo mein. Only two shrimp in the whole dish of lo mein and it seemed more like spaghetti noodles than lo mein noodles. Staying on theme here.. to be honest the customer service is unacceptable. We went into the restaurant to order and was met by an older irritated woman who seemed like she couldn't wait to be done with us. The Lo Mein ordered clearly didn't have lo mein noodles but spaghetti noodles and had no flavor. The fried rice was yellow and had no flavor as well, no veggies or eggs. The only thing semi decent was the egg roll but that even lacked flavor. When we asked for napkins and forks, the woman sighed deeply and shoved it at us. Sorry to say this was some of the worst Chinese food we've ever had. Everything was cooked in what seemed to be the same vegetables and sauce. The fried rice looked and tasted like white rice with yellow food coloring, no egg or veggies. We couldn't even eat the egg rolls. It was expensive but not worth the money. So out shopping was in a asian food mood. I wanted Thai and my man wanted chinese. We found this place across the street from a Thai place. Their sign said chinese vietnamese and thai food. They also had some sign up about top 100 food. Saturday night place was empty, this should have been our alarm to run and leave. But we thought eh try it out, see if its as good as their Top 100 said. 2nd alarm was the worker said "you get togo?" almost a question but almost a command.. She seated us and we looked over. Typical menu, lots of choices, kinda pricey. I ordered hot and sour soup, crab cheese wontons, and pud thai. My man had kung pao chicken. Food was served very fast, however the highlight of dinner was the crab cheese wontons. All our food with exception of wontons tasted like it was missing something. A spice, a herb, something. Almost bland in the spice dept, or a dull comparison to the food we usually get. We ate about 50% of our food because it just wasnt that great. Check mark not coming here ever again. Fast delivery, food was hot, but man , not very good. Everything had a ridiculous amount of vegetables. I've gotten takeout here twice now and have been pleased both times- the food is always delicious and the quantity is exceptional... I easily eat three meals from one dinner special. I've gotten the sweet and sour chicken and the general tsos chicken, along with the egg rolls and crab cheese wontons. It's all amazing but the wontons are perfection. The town I'm from has a hole in the wall Chinese place that I've had a hard time finding anything comparable to here in Denver, but I'm happy to say Egg Roll King has a loyal customer. Stopped in for lunch today, as we walked in a lady sitting behind the counter with a jacket didn't knowledge us so I asked if we can sit. When it came to ordering my wife had said to her all I see on the menus for lunch is egg drop soup or hot and sour. my wife asked can I substitute for wonton soup and the lady replied it cost $1.75. So she asked me and I said there is know one in the restaurant can you please just substitute the hot & sour for her. She said again $1.75. At this point I told my wife let's go, this is why at lunch they are not busy. Customer service sucks so don't even waist your time. The nastiest Asian food we've tasted. The fried rice was a weird texture and had zero flavor. The side veggies were tasteless, the chicken satay with peanut sauce was a flavorless chicken breast with a nut sauce spread across the top like peanut butter on toast. If you follow any of my reviews, you may be aware that I am perpetually on the hunt for decent Asian food, especially for those Friday nights when I want to bring something tasty home to curl up on the couch with. I search and I search and I search and I continue to search. In the meantime, we've stumbled across this little hole-in-the-wall in a shopping center off Buckley & Quincy road in Aurora. As far as Americanized Chinese food goes, this is a solid "B." Avoid the soups here. Eggrolls are okay as are the crab-cheese wontons. Fried rice & lo mein was very disappointing but they do okay with the Mongolian beef & Kung Pao chicken sort of dishes. They'll cook your food up fresh & hot here - don't order ahead of time or it will be cold by the time you pick it up. The delivery time was great. The food on the other hand was not. The wontons were great. The cabbage for the eggrolls was marinaded like it was for a salad, very vinegary. I had ordered Hunan chicken, it was very bland and they did not seed the peppers before cooking them so the meal was full of seeds. Always have loved the food and price, but, just so you know... Every time I order wonton soup, it comes with a quarter head of iceberg lettuce in it (large 32 oz soup). By the time you remove the lettuce, you have 5 wontons and 16 oz of soup left. Recommend to order without lettuce and don't let them tell you it's cabbage. read more

I was in last night for dinner. I ordered the Happy Family with fried rice and a lemonade. My meal came out to be almost $19. Which is far more than I've ever paid for that same meal. We got a menu from here in the mail and decided to try it out, so we each ordered the beef and broccoli with fried rice and an order of egg rolls. For $9.99 ea I expected a large plate of food and enough for leftovers the next day. What we got instead were two cartons of beef/broccoli and one smaller carton of rice. To make matters worse the rice was just plain old white rice, and after I had eaten about half of the beef/broccoli I found not one but two hairs. My lady picked up dinner on Sunday evening. It was 50.00 dollars and absolutely uneatable. The food was so poorly prepared, one could almost not even tell that it was an attempt at Chinese food. Sesame chicken was wet and soggy, as were the egg rolls. Note to owner. If you cannot make a decent egg roll, better not name your restaurant after a signature dish. Mongolian beef was flavorless, overcooked so the veggies were brown and soggy, and the fried rice was a train-wreck. Save your money. this place is horrible! read more

I was pleasantly surprised. Went here for a mother daughter outing with a group of moms and daughters about 17 of us. Had previously read the reviews so I was a little worried. Being a New Yorker I am very hard on restaurants period. We dined in and everyone ordered different dishes. I sampled several of the dishes and was not disappointed and neither were my companions some of whom are very picky eaters. Dining in may be the way to go here. Service was good and friendly, she even noticed we were pryaing and was respectful. Nice portions for the money and flavorful, had enough to take home to the hubby and teenage son. Refills are not free which was our only gripe. Bathroom was old but clean something I like to see in restaurants; hole in the wall or not. My wife and I walked in at dinner time and there was NO ONE in the restaurant. We thought that maybe we were really early and just decided to give this place a try. Long story short the service was SLOW. There seemed to be only one older lady working as the host and server and she was very pushy. When the food came out it looked amazing, however was sub par to any Vietnamese and Thai food we have ever had. Neither meals sat very well on our stomach after we left.
