Egghead is located in the same plaza as Aquis and Cha Cha sushi, specializing in egg-focused sandwiches and non-eggy drinks. We ordered: Eggy - a cute jar of poached egg atop mushed potato with chives. It also comes with 5-6 lil crostinis to dip into. Taste-wise was good, but texture-wise personally wasn't for me. The Chic - basically a giant popcorn chicken sandwich with an egg that we forgot was even in there. Definitely needed to season the chicken more and needed more sauce as well. Strawberry hojicha - just.... A weird taste and barely any tea flavor The service is way slow and with the line forming out the door, it seemed like there was no sense of urgency to get the line moving. I watched multiple staff move like the sloths in Zootopia when asking for extra dip. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back for the things I've already ordered. Came in on a HumpDay Weds before 8am, no one inside but the employees, LUCKY! but as I was waiting for my goodies, people were coming in and picking up so that's a great thing, checked it out and you can call in or order online, if you have no time to wait. Staff is friendly (2 girls up front) don't know id their smiling cause they have masks on but, the good thing is, they do greet you when your ready to place your order. I've tried Egghead when they were located in Cupertino. I wonder if this is a new location or did it get relocated? The inside has about 4 tables, there are some outdoor seating too. I ordered: The B.E.C - thick cut bacon, medium egg, cheese, ketchup, mayo, on a warm brioche bun Was debating between the BEC and the breakfast burger since they were similar. Not too sure why it's called a "breakfast" burger when it had everything of a regular burger. Anywho, the BEC had lots of bacon and egg. The bacon was crispy, a tad too burnt. A friend ordered some tater tots on the side, at least those had a good portion. Overall, this place was okay. Decent breakfast sandwiches but didn't hit the spot for me and was expensive - about $10/sandwich. This Egghead seems new, hopefully things will improve with time! read more

My friend wanted to meet up with my sister and I for lunch at Egghead Sando Café before archery and I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Upon arrival, we were lucky and got a parking spot right in front of the store. I really liked the simple modern interior design and the vibe of the store felt inviting. This place was popping while we were eating. Their staff were very friendly and took the time to introduce us to some items on their menu when asked. They have a good amount of item selections you can choose from and there are both indoor and outdoor seating available. The store was clean and we didn't wait long for our meal to come out. My sister and I ordered some of their popular items for the three of us. We got 3 The Chic Sandwiches ($9.75 each), 1 Hojicha Latte ($5), and 1 Strawberry Matcha Latte ($5). When my order came out, my sister and I were surprised by how big the sandwiches were. I couldn't finish it in one sitting and enjoyed the rest for dinner. I liked the combination of the arugula within the chicken sandwich, the added flavor from their spicy mayo with egg, and their store made brioche bun. Yum! I would highly recommend their Hojicha Latte. My sister and I loved it because of the fragrance and how refreshing it was. She finished it real fast. I also enjoyed their Strawberry Matcha Latte because it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and they used real strawberries. It was a perfect combo with my sandwich. There is plenty of parking since they're located in a little strip mall. There are only four tables inside but they also have seating outdoors as well. Service is pretty quick and everything is made fresh. I really didn't enjoy my sandwich, but perhaps I should have ordered something else. Ultimate Sando - $12.75 - The ingredients were fresh but it was the messiest sandwich and every bite tasted like mush. I'd add bacon or something to give it more texture. Some might want a pinch of salt added to their yolk or scramble, but I'm good with how it is. Arugula on the chic is an unexpected but well done contrast. The huge and crispy chicken taste like Shinlin or those Taiwanese fried chicken. Like others have said I couldn't taste the gravy on my ultimate sando. However, it was still a delicious savory egg, sausage, avocado, and sweet sautéed onions sandwich. I had a few bites of my wife's chic. I'm going to get that next time. For your first time, get the chic sandwich. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the sandwiches. My niece did say her strawberry matcha latte was bland. An Egghead in San Jose that isn't a ghost kitchen type of deal yay! Pretty sure everyone will agree that the Cupertino one is amazing but it does have it's cons such as - Extremely limited parking (technically theres only ~2 spots for Egghead over there, everything else is towable as spots near by are reserved for the other shops like boba and the connected lot is not for retail use per the signs) - Stopped serving sides due to high demand of their sandwiches This location fixes both: Gigantic parking lot that I've never seen completely filled and they also serve sides! Being open past lunch is also a plus for those Chic cravings for dinner. I have not seen much difference in terms of taste but do note this location seems to be more spicy than usual which is a plus for me but may affect those more sensitive. read more

So happy I don't have to drive all the way to Cupertino just for a sandwich from Egghead. My favorite sandwich to get is the Hawaiian Morning. Gotta love that freshly made brioche buns with spam and egg. I'm currently fangirling over how good their strawberry matcha latte is. I get it with oat milk because I'm lactose intolerant. Love that they have dairy alternatives. Parking is easy if it's not at a busy time when you go. Minus one star for inconsistent service. Back at the Cupertino location, I had The Scramble, and it was pretty good. Now that it opened up around Communication Hills, I decided to try out The Chic since it appears to be a popular sando. It was absolutely massive, and I couldn't finish it in one sitting, so I ate half. The chicken was crispy but a bit dry as well so I ate it with ketchup. Although it wasn't like a regular burger, some pickles would be nice for some crunch. I also have been craving a strawberry matcha for the past week, and was planning to check out Sunrighttea studio in Union City since I got off work early, but it wasn't opened yet at the time I was free :( So, I just decided to get it at Egghead. I've tried to location in Cupertino and down town but once it got so close to me I had to try it. -the ultimate sando- The eggs are the star of the show in this one, so rich & creamy. Wished the sausage patty was cooked a little more so it would get some crust on it because it tasted like the microwaved frozen ones. -the chic- This is my favorite because of the Taiwanese/popcorn chicken style breading they used. Once you bite into it you'll get a nostalgic feeling as if you had this before but can't remember where until it hits you. This is a giant popcorn chicken! Great amount of parking since this is in a plaza. The gentleman who helped my friend & I was very friendly & welcoming. I ordered the scramble sandwich, added avocado & the Kyandi drink. My friend ordered the Chic sandwich & the Pink Supreme. My friend was really hungry & said her sandwich was very fulfilling. She also liked her drink & said it was very refreshing, although she said she tasted more lychee than the guava. On the other hand, I had a taste of it & liked it. I thought there was a good balance of guava & lychee. I enjoyed my sandwich, especially since I added the avocado. The egg was well cooked while the bun was a good balance of soft & toasty. I like that it already came with cheese too because everything was well balanced. The Kyandi was very refreshing, almost like a virgin strawberry mojito. This is a review for a couple months back. I used to go to this location for Egghead very often with friends and family but the establishment has not been the same as time has gone on and the overall quality continues to diminish. The overall place is small and tall. You can see them making your food. There are only a couple chairs inside but plenty outside. The food has been relatively the same and across all locations, their menu and food quality is consistent. Unfortunately, this location has one of the worst wait times on earth. During rush times, it seems like the staff are scrambling to get their stuff together. The cooks are confused while the front staff only have to worry about drinks and assembly. Even so, their assembly line is never in order when I come in and my food takes 40+ minutes to come out. There was an incident a couple months back where my order took 1 hour+ to come out. I ordered a couple of items, but somehow a lot of orders that came after mine were served first. Upon asking them where my order was, the front staff only assured me that mine would come next for 20+ minutes straight. When my order was ready, the front staff did not call it out to us, so we waited extra until I reached out and asked once again. Ordering online does not help either. The wait times are just as atrocious and never come out on time. I recommend going to the Santa Teresa location or just any other location than this one. read more

Interior was rly minimalistic and cute, lots of space and few tables, but it wasn't crowded at all anyway at around 11pm-ish. The decor was rly nice and the cashiers were kind and patient as well since we wanted to add more things to our order! Food: - 5/5 Scramble w sausage! Other yelpers did not miss w this one. The sausage rlyyyy made it so I'd get it w the sausage patty thing bc it was so bomb. - 2/5 Chic (fried chicken) It was similar to popcorn chicken but like extremely huge. Jesus I was in shock to see how huge the chicken was in the tiny buns. It made it harder to enjoy and the arugula felt random with it all just in my opinion. Had to make my visit to Egghead by my work. I saw the Breakfast burger and my eye and belly were sending me signals to go and buy one. I had to try it out. The Wagyu beef patty was cooked to perfection. The egg inside was ooozing out with the yolk and the sauce they use in this preparation was NOM NOM city. The whole complete sandwich was like a little bullet for the belly it was soooooooo good. Go and try one. I could have ate 2 or 3 of them but then I would have gained around 5 lbs. So I had to limit myself until next time. I ordered to go and the service was quick and easy and I loved the way the packaged the little grenade into the box and the bag they used. I will stop by again soon. This year again to try out the other great sandwiches on their menu. The male employees were great on the service and knowledge of the product was excellent. The food is good, like many of the reviews below have stated but the wait times are ATROCIOUS. I understand max of 30 minutes on a busy day but I came in and ordered two basic sandwiches (The Scramble w/ Sausage) and waited for 40 minutes. When I asked around the 35 minute mark, they mentioned they were waiting for a "few items" when I ordered two things. I don't blame the workers there but Egghead's practice (and probably a lot of restaurants do this too) of prioritizing DoorDash orders and not in-house orders. You can't have people wait 40 minutes for your food and then offer nothing for the wait. For reference, I was Order #138 and the order I recall hearing after I ordered was #132. For 6 orders, it took 40 minutes. read more

We usually come here, but today was extremely disappointing. Like any other day, we placed our order: two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches and two orange juices. After placing the order, we waited over 30 minutes with no update. We were understanding at first, assuming it was busy. When we finally checked in, the employees told us they were barely going to start making our order and apologized for forgetting to send it through. Unfortunately, we had an appointment and were already going to be late, so we asked for a full refund. As a courtesy, the employee offered to let us take the orange juices while they processed the refund. By that point, the juices were already watered down from sitting so long. Their system was down, so they took our phone number to process the refund later. We were shocked to later receive only a partial refund because the owner decided we shouldn't get a full refund since we took the orange juices. This felt unfair given that the delay and mistake were entirely on their end. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service, especially for regular customers. read more

I love that there's one near me now. My first experience at this location was great. I placed my order online. By the time I got there, my order was already waiting for me even though the estimated pickup time was 20 minutes later. It wasn't busy for a Sunday morning. Perhaps that's why. Anyway... I ordered the chic sandwich, a side of tater tots, and a latte with a shot of espresso. The sandwich is massive. Biggest one I've had so far (I've gone to the Cupertino location a few times). My wife and I shared it, and i may have only eaten half my share. I had the rest the next day, and it was still enjoyable. The chicken has really great flavor, and it's not just in the batter. The meat is also very flavorful and juicy. The tater tots were pretty typical. Nothing special, but the serving is huge for under $5. So, I was pretty happy about that. The latte with the extra shot of espresso was perfectly caffeinated :) Staff was really friendly and the lobby looked really clean and welcoming. Ultimate Sando: 5/5 Very rich and fluffy eggs that melt in your mouth. A soft brioche bun to sandwich it all together. The sausage was your typical breakfast sausage but all together it was so good! The Chic Sandwich: 4.5/5 Wish there was more sauce in the sandwich but the chicken by itself was super good! The sandwich also fell apart so it became a bit of a mess. We came here this past weekend since we were in town. We ordered ahead since we anticipated long lines due to this place being new. When i arrived, i checked in with one of the employees and told i was here for pickup. She said she would check and went to the back. Another staff member returned to the front with other to go orders. I thought maybe my order was coming later. Anywho..i waited another 15 mins and the original worker was no where to be found. I asked the front counter staff to check on the order since it was now roughly 20 mins past the promised time for pickup. She said my order was in the warmer this entire time. No fault to her but more her co workers. When we got home and checked our food, we noticed one order of tots and a full sandwich was missing from our order. Thats not good. Now on to the food. All the sandwiches we had were gigantic. Flavors were good and was very pleasant. Outstanding sandwiches and burgers. The tots were also very good. Not too oily but still had a nice crisp. The waffles fries were good fresh. Once its been out for awhile (30 to 45 mins) it becomes extremely hard and inedible. Honestly I get "The Chic" Sandwich every time I go. I've been to this location about 15 times so far and the quality of the chicken sandwich remains Supreme! It's mainly The Chicken itself, as being Super consistent. It's always hot, crunchy, and Juicy! It's absolutely one of my favorites in San Jose( Top 3)! My only gripe is the inconsistency of the Egg. It's supposed to be runny and yolky, but almost half the time it's over cooked... Also, maybe a bit more seasoning on the chicken, just a little! Now as for the service, everyone is pretty chill for the most part But... I was definitely annoyed at one point I came 15 mins before they closed and they had already Locked the doors! As soon as I try to open them everyone inside turned around as if they didn't see me! I get that it was 15 mins before closing, BUT if your Hours say 3pm, then you should be open til then. Love this place! Since it's literally down the street from my house, it's one of my go-to spots. So much so that I've earned a few free sandwiches. Highly recommend you join their rewards program. I also ordered the pink supreme which was a guava mint drink and unfortunately that was a bust too. It was soooo sweet that it tasted like kerns nectar. I got the Ultimate Sando ($12.75), Pink Dream ($5.50), and the Waffle Fries ($4.50). I think their drinks are a little overpriced for the size that they are however everything else I think is reasonably priced. The service was good, they were really nice. This is going to be one of our new go-tos. Food was perfect. The hubby and I both got their Chic sandwich, the crispness of the chicken was on point. It was perfect to slather over toast and the waffle fries, The chick sandwich was huge and my friend had a hard time finishing it! If there is anything that you MUST get from here are the drinks!
