I had always planned on ordering lunch from Arome Cafe for our wedding day since it was so conveniently located near our venue. What I did not anticipate was how annoying it would be to get 24 people to actually respond and send me their orders on time. Apparently, getting married was easier than getting everyone to pick a sandwich and a drink. I finally gave everyone a hard Wednesday night deadline, collected all the orders, and walked into Arome Cafe the next day, just two days before my wedding, with an order for 24 meals and 24 drinks, along with very specific instructions about the pickup time and exactly who would be picking everything up. Needless to say, I was probably giving off some slightly stressed-out bride energy. And then there was Hannah. Hannah was absolutely amazing. She patiently went through everything with me, made sure every single order was entered correctly, confirmed all of the pickup details, and even took the extra time to write everyone's names on their individual food items so there wouldn't be any confusion on the wedding day. With 24 different people and orders, that small detail made such a huge difference. On a morning when there were a million things happening at once, Hannah and Arome Cafe were one thing I simply did not have to worry about. Everything was ready, organized, and exactly as we had discussed. Hannah, you were truly a quiet angel in the middle of our chaotic wedding morning, and I will always be grateful for how kind and helpful you were during a week when my brain was being pulled in about 500 different directions. And, of course, the food and drinks were amazing! Despite it being such a massive order, the quality was completely on point. Everything was fresh, delicious, and prepared with the same care you would expect from a much smaller order. Thank you, Hannah, for being so patient, organized, and genuinely kind. You probably had no idea how much taking care of something as simple as lunch meant to a bride two days before her wedding, but it was one less thing I had to think about, and at that point, that meant everything P.S. This plaza has a variety selection of restaurants like spartan's tacos, mcdonald's, pizza my heart, le boulanger, honey berry, panda express, but I've never tried this place before so we gave it a go. Came at July 16 at 11:35am, and ordered 2 pastas and a salad. Theres was only one other singular customer in the entire restaurant who looked like she's already been there a while and was already sitting down when we came in, and 30 minutes flew (which is the end of our lunch break) and that customer just got her food. So imagine how long it took for our food to come out 40+ minutes. I'm not mad about it at all but I was just genuinely so confused. Because it took 40+ mins our 2 pastas came out way before my salad. Even stopping by the crowded starbucks, all 4 of our drinks came out, and we had time to sit and chat and come back and our food was still not ready. I was so so lost about how my salad took so much time when it was just lettuce, proscuitto, and eggs. Compared to TWO whole pastas with chicken and bread. But they also forgot the bread that came out with it. I was actually just confused because the place was practically empty as well. The salad was really average however the pasta was too hard, needed to be boiled way longer, and just did not taste good unfortunately. Banh mi 3.5 but the coffee here pulls the rating up to a 4. The pork Banh mi had great bread! Very light and fluffy but with a crispy exterior. What I think could improve is the amount of bold flavors. I think the pork wasn't bold enough, the pickled veggies not vinegary enough, and the jalepenos not spicy enough. The cilantro didn't really taste like anything either. Not a bad sandwich but nothing really to stand out. What a great little sandwich and tea spot! We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was chill and I liked that you can order either at the counter or through the kiosk. We tried the Tuscany Italiano and the Grilled Pork Banh Mi, and both were fire. The bread was fresh, the Italiano was loaded, and the grilled pork banh mi had really good flavor. Definitely top notch sandwiches. IMHO Came upon Arome while cruising the neighborhood for a place to eat lunch after some Christmas craft fair shopping. We figured we'd go in, check out the menu and decide whether we stayed or went in search of something else. After perusing the kiosk touchscreen menus, we decided to give Arome a try. Menu offerings range from Sandwiches, salads, pasta, coffee, boba, tea lattes, and a few savory pastries. We ordered the Roast Beef banh mi sandwich $10, the Shimeji Mushroom sandwich $12, and the Tuna Club sandwich $13.99, and one sweet tea (I don't remember which one, but it was really sweet!) It took a while for our sandwiches to make an appearance at our table, maybe 15 minutes or longer, but they were definitely worth the wait. These sandwiches were big and stuffed with yummy goodness. You definitely got bang-for-your-buck. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean, bright and welcoming. The beautiful cherry tree adds a peaceful element to the surroundings. I've been very satisfied with the service and drink consistency and quality at Arome. Arome is located in a moderately busy plaza in Evergreen with sufficient parking. It has a spacious interior, which is quite rare for boba shops nowadays. I've ordered their Green Thai Milk Tea and their Duo Thai Milk Tea at times. They both had authentic flavors, and although you can't make many modifications to those drinks, the sweetness was fine. What also draws me to Arome is the affordability of their drinks and the ample seating space. I love to stop by here when I need to relax and grab a quick sweet pick me up. read more

My coworker showed me this spot recently so i thought I would give it a shot after work one day. I placed a mobile order for pick up and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a brown sugar coffee and a grilled pork banh mi. I loved the flavor of the brown sugar once coffee and the banh mi was a good portion. I saved it for later as it was a good size but I would do without the house mayo if i got it again. Other than that, I saw their menu and they have some delicious bowls that I'm interested in trying on my next trip. One of them included salmon! Food was great, service friendly, and it was late in the afternoon so speed of service was not an issue. My only complaint is a piece of hair was found inside our sandwich. I don't think any of the food prep crew wore hats or had their hair tied back hence the possibility of this happening. This is our first visit here, and we ordered to go so couldn't bring it to their attention on the spot. Enter and order at one of the two touchscreen kiosks. I like this style, but it can be a little slower your first time because there are a lot of items to choose from. And because it's a kiosk, I didn't capture any menu photos. I ordered the croissant sandwich with ham and egg. It took a solid 15 minutes to prepare it, which seemed a little long since I was the only customer. Anyway, when it came out, the first thing I noticed was the sandwich was BIG. Which of course I like. I asked if it was a warm sandwich and he said yes, but it wasn't really warm. In fact, it was bold except for the fried egg. I guess that's alright. Another lesson learned for me is to ask for without the dressing. It's a little too much on the sweet side. For drink I had the classic milk tea and added boba. Pretty good, not the best I've had but good. I say that because the boba weren't all the way soft and I didn't see a location to change the sweetness level. But it's possible I missed it. Final Thoughts: 3.49/5 A little in between stars here. The food and experience wasn't bad...but it's just not to my preferences. Simple brunch day with my friends before some shopping. Honestly, nothing extravagant at all. Overall, so-so experience here today. Food: Brisket Phở Dip Bánh Mì: 3.4/5 Starting with the pros, I actually really enjoyed the flavors of the filling of this item. Very nice marinade and balance of umami, saltiness, and sweetness was good. This item does need the dipping sauce broth item on the side because it just adds another flavor component. The meat texture itself is alright. It felt a little dry because of how thin it is. It does tear apart upon biting, but that seems likely related to how thin its sliced. For the vegetables, they were nicely pickled and leaned more on the sweet side. Not too much acidity or saltiness from it at all. Not actually a complaint because it adds this freshness to the overall taste. For the bread, I'm not impressed. It was big, but it was too much bread for me in general. Yes, it does present as a larger portion size, but the ratio is slightllyoff for me. Flavor and smell of the bread are subpar. By far, my favorite is the bread from Bánh Mì Đức Hương and this is where my standard is. There's a lack of this nice yeasted bread smell and crunch from the bread. For something that took around 20 minutes to come out, I would expect the bread crispy and hot, but it was not. It was warm at best. Bread also seemed quite dry and somewhat stale because the inside part of the bread kind of fell apart as I carved it away from the crust. Asian Chicken Schnitzel: 3.6/5 Starting with the bread this time, I actually thought it was really good. They use a ciabatta bread and I thought that it was going to be dry, but this one seemed quite fresh. The crust has a nice crunch to it while the inside is quite soft and soaked up a lot of the flavor from the sauce. For the aroma of the bread, there was this mild wheat and tangy smell, which I liked. The chicken schnizel was something I also really enjoyed. Quite the thick piece of flattened chicken. The inside was juicy and not dry. When I made a cross-section of it, it was nicely cooked and still retained that juice. Crust was lovely. Very crunchy breading that just still remained that way even after soaking in some of the sauce. Speaking of sauce, while I did enjoy a lot of it, the sauce felt a little bit too acidic for me. There seems to be a drizzle of teriyaki sauce or a soy sauce based sauce in there too which added another flavor component. I wished the flavors were more balanced though because the red sauce (maybe marinara sauce) was so acidic and overpowering, that it overwhelmed the other flavors involved. -------- Quality: Alright Quality was alright. The bánh mì was actually just warm, which is interesting because it took around 20 minutes to come out. Perhaps it was just sitting there while the other item was being made. The bread was not crispy though, which is unfortunate. It felt more stale and hard if anything. For the meats and sauces, those were actually quite good. The meat is fully cooked through and is a very lean meat. The sauce was a nice flavor. For the veggies, they looked quite fresh in general, which is nice. Price: Expensive For the item that's provided, the price does lean more on the American sandwich pricing, which means that it is more expensive. For the two items that we got, it was around $30. At other Vietnamese bread places, the prices haven't reached $10 yet, so for these items to exceed $10, is a bit excessive for me. While the item that is provided is slightly bigger, I personally don't think it's worth it. Service: Limited; not too significant Limited interactions for today's visit. We ordered on a kiosk at the front and then they just called out our number to get our food once it was ready. My one note is that the food takes quite a long time to come out. For bread items, I would expect the wait to be more within 10 minutes, but the food came out within around 20 minutes. There were only three parties (mine included) at the café too. One party of 1, one party of 2, and my party of 3. Quite the long wait time though. Ambiance: Calm and Tranquil The interior was very calm and tranquil. There looks to be a peach blossom or cherry blossom tree built inside of the café. I can only imagine how nicely decorated that tree will be during the Lunar New Year. Very soft and tranquil area to be in though. Would definitely go here to study and work. Location/Parking: Aight This spot is located in the plaza on San Felipe Road and Yerba Buena Road. It's right on the corner too. There are a few other food places within this area. There seems to be optimal parking, but the parking spaces appear to all be for a compact car or a sedan. SUVs might have a more difficult time. I can't see an issue with finding parking though since this place doesn't look like one that gets oversaturated with people. read more

Two young employees were hanging around and only started my order after I arrived, telling me it would be "5 minutes." It ended up taking about 15 more minutes. The wait wasn't the issue, the food was. The meat smelled bad, tasted off, and had a rubbery texture, as if it was undercooked or cooked straight from frozen. I couldn't eat it. Shortly after, I felt extremely nauseous and spent a long time gagging, feeling like I was on the verge of food poisoning. Thankfully, I felt fine the next morning. Because of this, I can't see myself ordering here again. Located in the plaza next to EVC in the backside near the Wells Fargo and The Funny Farm. Plenty of parking! Not busy when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. Interior is pretty big and spacious with a handful of tables, and outdoor seating. Would be a great place to work out of if they had wifi (not sure if they do but didn't see any obvious signs). They offer brunch items, sandwiches, Vietnamese coffees, and teas/matcha! 2 order kiosks- didn't work when I went but they had a note that they had a recent break in so they were only taking cash and venmo/zelle for the moment. Staff were friendly! I got the grilled pork banh mi, sea salt coffee with condensed milk coffee as the base, and the milk tea americano. The sea salt coffee was good- very strong though!! Personally, it tasted better when the ice melted! Opt for the black coffee base if you don't like the coffee as rich or sweet. Didn't realize the deli that was here closed and Arome Cafe took it's place. I was going to eat at Le Boulanger across the parking lot but saw they had sandwiches here and decided to give it a try. It is somewhat of a large open space with little furniture and I think they would do themselves better by filling it up a little more -- maybe some couches and coffee tables in the corner instead of just basic tables. Maybe some rugs to make it feel homey and to absorb some of the echo in the place. You order from one of two menu screen on the wall. I ordered the tuna fish sandwich and the lychee tea drink. The lychee drink they brought out to me fairly quickly -- and it was very good. Just the right amount of sweetness and flavor, oh-so-refreshing, I really enjoyed it. The sandwich, however, took quite a bit of extra time, especially given they were not busy and it wasn't a sandwich that had to be heated, or with an ingredient inside that needed to be cooked. Anyway, opened the box, the ciabatta looked great, and the preparation looked spot-on with a stack of fresh romaine (I think) and tomatoes and the first bite was great. But as I kept eating it it became apparent that they had prepared the tuna salad with a hecka lotta mayo. I like mayo but it shouldn't be such that it's more like tuna-flavored mayo, which this wasn't quite that bad, but close. I'd really like to impress upon management that they pull back on the mayo and let the tuna and other ingredients shine more. That being said, nothing tasted weird or anything, it was all fresh, and I can't say it was a wholly disappointing meal, just needs some adjustment. I will definitely go back for the drinks, definitely wanna try the Yuzu Honey one, and I will give them a chance again with a food item -- their Florentine quiche does look good. I personally liked the coffee and because the coffee is strong the drink overall wasn't too sweet for me. - Grilled pork banh mi: I opted for no cucumber so I felt like the bread to filling ratio was a little off, however maybe it's because of I chose no cucumber. The bread was soft inside and had a nice crunch. The pork was flavorful and tender. **Soft Opening Thursday-Sunday from 10:30am - 2:00pm** I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon to grab some coffee and saw that they have Vietnamese egg coffee so I had to order it! The coffee itself tasted great and not too bitter since most Vietnamese coffee's are really strong, but this one is nicely balanced and the sweetness from the condensed milk at the end is like a nice treat. They have 2 Kiosks right when you walk in where you can order snacks and drinks. They offer Coffee, Tea Latte's, fruity boba, pastries & sandwiches. There are plenty of tables inside to sit down and eat/drink with really nice interior that makes it look open and spacious. Went here back in early soft opening and came back yesterday and both times they forgot things in my drinks. Definitely not an issue as they are apologetic and fix it but really hope this isn't a habit as I do hate requesting fixes in general. Banh Mi comes with a decent amount of meat even though the picture makes it look sad since they just piled it in one area, slightly different flavor profile than authentic banh mi's you'd grab from like Duc Huong but not complaining. I do wish things were toasted or more hot though. Newly added benedicts, when it came out I was kinda confused, as it's not a traditional one. Potatoes were diced, includes a side of salad and a waffle/croffle (?). Nonetheless, ended up enjoying this a lot, sauces complimented the savory waffle, potatoes were with a nice crunch. Great food, nice decorations, and very good tea (though more variety of tea types or flavors would be exciting to see, knowing that their current drinks are good too). Baked goods are excellent, also their food dishes are pretty healthy I love that. The only issue I've had was that the cafe opened late without notice and people were confused without any context, girlfriends were upset, and it was hot outside. They were quick to get set up once they opened though. The ordering screens sometimes cannot connect to the server -- but ordering at the register helps. A reward system would be a great touch to keep customers returning. There's potential in a lot of different aspects, even adding some more comfortable cozy seating could help with long studying sessions. Even small touches -- like keeping the restroom tidier/cleaner and a bit more inviting -- would make the cozy vibe extend throughout the whole space. I love iced egg coffee and although I don't drink Vietnamese coffee much anymore we decided to check it out. Bought the salted cream coffee and the iced egg coffee. Ordering is done on an iPad and unfortunately there is not a lot of room for customizations. I wanted an option for less sugar as Vietnamese coffee can get too sweet but there's only sugar or no sugar options. Which is odd. I saw this place on TikTok and was excited to try their matcha lattes after hearing great things. Unfortunately, both the strawberry matcha and mango matcha were sold out when I arrived, so I ordered a regular matcha latte with sweet cold foam instead. However, they gave me a drink with espresso and matcha--which I didn't ask for--so I had to ask them to remake it. When I finally received the corrected drink, it was really disappointing. New cafe in evergreen area, definitely looks promising ! We went on a Friday afternoon and the ordering kiosk is very easy to operate. We got iced coffee, Thai green milk tea with boba, Tuscan sandwich and banh mi sandwich. There was ample seating with cute cherry blossom trees and lighting indoors. Our food arrived quickly and the sandwich was really fresh and delicious. The milk tea was really good too! Will definitely be back to try more sandwiches! read more

Here's the summary version if you don't want to read the rest of this review. This might be one of the rare occasions that the food is the reason I go back to a cafe rather than the drinks! The kiosks weren't working when I went due to a break in, but the staff were super kind. It's a super aesthetic cafe with limited space inside and for the 2ish hours we were there, it never got super crowded even with the constant foot traffic. We were there from like 1-3pm on a Sunday. Food: 5/5 Everything we had was super tasty and honestly was the best part of the experience. We went with the most popular items that people had reviewed already and they DID NOT miss. Of the 3 food items (tuscany italiano sandwich, grilled pork banh mi, florentine quiche), I think that the tuscany italiano sandwich was the best bang for your buck. The meat was stacked and paired with some nice, fresh veggies and cheese on a soft crunchy bread. The grilled pork banh mi was flavorful yet the bread didn't get soggy and maintained its softness. We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty the florentine quiche was and it came with the salad which added a little extra to the dish if you wanted more of a snack than a meal. The drinks were ok, there wasn't anything special about them. The lychee paradise less sweet was still a little too sweet for my liking, but it tasted how I expected. The strawberry matcha was mid because other places do matcha so much better. I didn't try the egg coffee, but all my friend said about it was "yeah, that's viet coffee for you." So, take that as you will. Service/staff: 4/5 The staff members were all super nice and got the food out to us fairly quickly. However, because their kiosks weren't working, the staff had to manually take the orders. This meant that they'd have to plug in the order on their end to allow us to pay, but they'd have to write the actual order on a sticky note/index card by hand because the kiosks wasn't sending the orders to the kitchen. I also ended up with a worker who took a while to find the items on the screen and when I asked if they could add milk to their jasmine green tea to make it a milk tea, he struggled to understand what I was asking for. So, I opted for the lychee paradise. If they didn't have the break in and the kiosks were working, I don't think this would have been an issue. Space: 4/5 The decor inside is really aesthetic with the cherry blossom pink vibes and it was quite peaceful to sit chat and eat. Despite there not being a lot of seating but constantly had people coming in to order, they never got super crowded. I feel like most took their drinks/food togo rather than dining in, so it made for a nice environment for my friends and I to chat. The plaza is large, so you don't have to worry about not being able to find parking, at least I don't think you should. read more
