I walked in and there was no one to greet any patrons. There are just 2 kiosks. A sign that said that one kiosk is the breakfast menu and the other is the lunch menu would have been helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The area to eat was so plain with no decorating. I was really disappointed in the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I choose breakfast. It was a poached egg over a potato puree. It was a good but not good enough to return . I would not recommend this place if you are looking for an inviting ambiance.

Big sandwiches! We got The Scramble and The Chic. Th Scramble is very creamy and soft. It's easy to scarf it down. There's a slight spice along with a caramelized sweetness from the onion. The Chic is like someone took popcorn chicken and put it in cutlet form. Pretty tasty and also incredibly filling. The brioche buns are made in house and the fluffiness of the buns is the proof. There's also a brioche bun baking station towards the back soo.. just trust your eyes. Service is fast and the food came out within 10. Overall I really enjoyed coming here and would come back whenever I'm craving a sandwich.

If you are an egg sandwich lover, you have to check this place out. I stopped by Egghead Sando Cafe and it did not disappoint. I ordered The Ultimate Egg Sando. The eggs were fluffy, the ingredients were fresh, and the bread was the perfect texture to hold it all together. I paired my sando with their Matcha, and it was the perfect balance. It wasn't overly sweet, that great earthy matcha flavor that helped wash down the sandwich perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe has a great vibe and the service was quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a solid spot for a high-quality breakfast or brunch. However, it was a bit pricey for an egg sandwich...

For some odd reason, I'm unsure if it's the timing but every time I come here it is almost always empty. The service is decent, the workers are nice and friendly, not overtly but just the right amount I'd say. I think the food is amazing but if I had one critique it would be that it is a tad bit on the saltier side when I sometimes wish it would be less salty to let the flavors speak for themselves. I've had a few of the breakfast sandwiches before, the arugula salad, and the potato puree and poached egg with dipping toast. I think everything that I've tried from the menu has been really delicious and definitely worth a try. The drinks are also amazing, I think my favorite so far has got to be the mint snap, it's just an oddly amazing pairing of flavors that I didn't expect to like as much. The arugula salad was nice because I feel like I don't often see arugula on many menus so it was refreshing, and amazing paired with the cheese and bacon. However, I do feel like most of the food on the menu is more on the heavier side with the grease and sodium level so they kinda leave me feeling very full but satisfied. Overall, I like revisiting this place every once in a while as a nice little breakfast sandwich place.

Saw this place near the 24 Hour Fitness and popped my head in to check it out. They have chicken sandwiches as well as hamburgers. Interestingly enough they have 2 kiosks, 1 where you purchase the chicken and another where you purchase the burgers. I decided to get a chicken sandwich and my wife decided on a lettuce burger. The chicken sandwich side has tater tots and the burger side has waffle fries. The food took a little while and when I got my chicken sandwich, I noticed that the chicken was thigh meat. I had assumed that it would be breast meat. So I took the sandwich back and asked if I could get breast meat instead and they told me I could have chicken strips. The strips were fried where the sandwich I had purchased was grilled, but I was fine with the substitution. I got the new sandwich and the chicken strips were pretty huge. They were crispy, juicy and had a hint of sweetness like honey. I liked my sandwich and the wife liked her burger.

I came in with my friend and her daughter and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place looks nice inside it busy and decided to dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had two kiosks to order from so I went on the other one and it was only for burgers when it was my turn to go on the other kiosk another customer came in and someone took their order at the front. I was curious if they'd bother to take my order while waiting. While waiting for my order the employees brought my friend's order and my ice coffee. While waiting I got a notification my order was ready but waited a few minutes if my order will be delivered to my table. I had to go up to the counter and asked for my order mind you there are 3 other people waiting also. When they helped a customer with an order before me I said my order number and the employee looked confused and the customer behind me said they handed my order to the person that just walked past me and the customer called him back. My order was handed off wrong and they packaged it to go. I was a little upset the employee didn't apologize. When I opened my order I saw they were missing my sauce I was charged extra and asked at the counter. The girl just looked and handed it and not apologized again. I gave three stars for my meal which is good was good but wish my experience at the store was different.

While in town visiting, we were looking for a place to have breakfast. We decided to go to Egghead Sando Cafe. It was easy to find. There's some construction in the shopping center/parking lot but parking was okay. There is a kiosk to place your order along with a front counter if you prefer a person or have questions. We used the kiosk and ordered The Scramble Sandwich, Waffle Fries & Matcha Cafe Latte. Their system texts you your order # and again when your orders ready. We decided to eat there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating from tables to booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a small selection of games you can play while visiting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Scramble Sandwich - This is scrambled egg with chives and onions ( I opted out of both), cheese and a super soft bun! DELISH!!!!! Waffle Fries - A decent size box of seasoned waffle fries. DELISH! Matcha Cafe Latte - An iced coffee with matcha. This was not good at all. It was kinda of griddy, not sweetened at all.

Egghead is located in a shopping plaza near Kaiser. I'm not a big sandwich/burger person, but the Chic sandwich I got was very good. The cashier was nice. The place also had an ordering machine with pictures and descriptions to give you a better idea of what you're getting. * Chic Sandwich 4.5/5 - The portion was pretty big and I like the double proteins of chicken and egg. The fried chicken was moist, though a bit plain. The tastiest part was actually the breading. It's weird to say, but the breading was very crispy, flavorful, with a bit of a spicy kick. I was surprised that I liked it more than the chicken. The bottom of the egg was a little rubbery, but the yolk was nice and soft, truly over medium. The brioche bun was my least favorite part. It was crispy, but a bit burnt and dense, not fluffy.

I am in town visiting my brothers for the holidays - going from dry, unseasonably warm Colorado to torrential rain in San Jose for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. With the pitifully old infrastructure the rain caused the power to go out sometime early on Christmas morning, so we were faced with having cold cereal or going out for breakfast. Thus, when my older brother suggested going to Egghead Sando I readily agreed. So the first disappointment was to find that these were not Japanese breakfast sandwiches - which I took to be implied by "Sando" but my brother speculates is just a trendy term for sandwich around here? Whyyyy? The next shock was how expensive it was ... The guy at the counter who asked if we had ever been in immediately mentioned that the Burger Lab menu was less expensive so clearly they know that their breakfast menu is overpriced, but I just wasn't feeling a burger for breakfast. We ended up spending about $50 for 2 entrees, a shared side, and 2 regular coffees. Granted, I live in a much lower cost-of-living area, but that seemed like a lot for a fast casual breakfast. The saving grace is that I really did enjoy my breakfast. I got the Eggy, which is not a sandwich but rather a soft poached egg served over puréed potatoes and bits of bacon in a mason jar with a few toasted baguette slices on the side. It sounded a bit weird, but the potatoes were loose enough to make mixing it all up a satisfying dip for the bread. I don't think I will ever be back, but this might be something I'd try to recreate in my own kitchen.

Always great, fast and delicious. They have the best breakfast sandos anywhere and they make them quick as can be. Tap the screen to order and three minutes later, you got a Sando. I got the breakfast burger this morning and it hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for morning breakfast for the office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

BEC with avocado and Arugula, Vietnamese Hazelnut coffee

Egghead was amazing!! My mom and I were just complaining about breakfast sandwiches lacking flavor before we ran into this cafe. We were ready to be disappointed, but were pleasantly surprised! I got the BEC and added on some avocado and arugula because I like a pop of green in my sandwiches. The bacon was thick and caramelized, the egg was a perfectly crispy with a nice runny yolk, and the coffee was strong and flavorful! We had to bring my brother back here immediately. He had the Chic and loved it, and my mom recommends the Scramble!

This was our first time here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop was well decorated and had lots of room to sit![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a place to get utensils, napkins and condiments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered our food at the kiosk and it came rather quickly! We ordered the: Ultimate Sando (7/10) it was good but nothing mind blowing. The bread was soft and everything matched well. It was even better with sriracha added. The Side Chick (9/10) now this was a delicious sandwich! The bread was soft, the sandwich itself was huge. The chicken patty looked like two large slices that might mistakenly made its way into our one sandwich, but we won't say no to that. The arugula and tomatoes gave it a perfect level of freshness. Delicious. Waffle fries (5/10) average and tasted like waffle fries from anywhere. Hojicha strawberry latte (7/10) good but nothing mind blowing our preferred taste at the moment since the hojicha was more bitter than we typically prefer. Matcha strawberry latte (8/10) good. We liked the strawberry to match ratio. Overall it this place had great memorable sandwiches and we'd like to come back to try some other sandwiches!

So when I travel, I'm usually hauling around an arsenal of brewing gear like some caffeinated survivalist. And yeah... I'm picky AF. I like what I like. So if you're gonna serve me coffee, it better show up dressed in a suit and tie. In this case, it absolutely did. I had to give the local spot near Grandma's house a shot. I walked in with crossed fingers and low expectations, but walked out with a satisfied palate, a smile, and an eagerness to visit again soon. This is NOT your run-of-the-mill coffee shop. They roast onsite. Real deal, Holyfield. I started with an espresso. Then a cortado. Then grabbed a bag of Yirgacheffe to go because I gotta see what else they got going on. . These guys clearly know what they're doing; and if they don't, they accidentally perfected it anyway. The espresso was balanced, clean, and intentional. Nothing hidden behind over-roasting or gimmicks. Just refined quality coffee handled correctly. I'm genuinely glad spots like this exist, and even happier one sits right here near my fam. The drinks were still top-notch--we really enjoyed them, and the Mediterranean bagel was also fresh and delicious. Quality-wise, they absolutely deliver. That said, the customer service unfortunately didn't match the level of the coffee. The cashier interaction felt curt and low-energy, and overall not very welcoming. When my husband asked about their most popular specialty drink, she mentioned the "Milky Way" and compared it to a Starbucks macchiato--which felt like an odd comparison for a specialty coffee shop that otherwise seems to take pride in its craft. More than anything, the interaction came across as disengaged and a bit uninterested, which stood out because places like this usually shine in both product and service. We'll likely still come back for the coffee and food, but I do think the service experience matters a lot--and this visit didn't quite meet expectations on that front.

The donuts were made to order, and I still remember the two young employees who worked there. They'd happily let you know it might take a few minutes because they wanted you to experience the product the way it was meant to taste. That kind of pride in what you're serving is rare, and it made a real impression. There's something different about that kind of enthusiasm coming from employees versus an owner. An owner has an obvious stake in selling you on something, but when the people making your food are genuinely excited for you to try it, that energy is contagious. You can't help but feed off of it. Fast forward to this year. My daughter loves coming here since we frequently visit the amazing Chinese restaurant next door (China Delight-highly recommend), so I've brought her a few times. Unfortunately, it's been a different experience. The donuts are always pre-made, and the focus seems to be more on cleaning and closing down than on having a fresh product ready for customers. To be fair, the staff is always friendly and I do appreciate a clean shop , but when I'm choosing between a spotless floor and a donut worth eating, I'd rather have the latter. I'll note that I usually come a bit after dinnertime, so maybe timing plays a role. But after a few visits with the same result, it feels more like a shift in priorities than bad luck. We checked out the menu and then placed our order. The manager waited on us, and he was very nice. My husband ordered the Mighty Med salad, a kombucha, and a nutty bowl. I ordered the Power Panini with chicken and multi-grain bread and a green tea. Luckily, we got there when it wasn't busy, so all tables were available. Our food was brought out to us in a bag, which I thought was weird since we were dining in. My sandwich was hot and very delicious. The chicken was very tender and not dry at all. My green tea was iced cold and refreshing. My husband enjoyed his salad but thought the beef texture was off and tasted old. He said he wouldn't order it again. But the salad part was very good and fresh. He enjoyed his kombucha. He thought the nutty açaí bowl was just okay and didn't taste any peanut butter. We think they forgot to add it. I didn't like the nutty açaí bowl. I didn't care for the flavor. I prefer the açaí bowls at Palmetto Superfoods. I'd probably come back for the sandwich but nothing else.

My favorite coffee shop in San Jose. I look forward to going every time. All their drinks are…read moreexcellent. I started with the vanilla bean latte with oat milk. Good hot or iced. Occasionally burnt espresso but I love them too much to mind. I am a matcha snob to say the LEAST. Hands down best coffee shop matcha in the Bay Area. The classic iced matcha latte with honey is grassy and earthy and creamy and a little sweet. The iced banana pudding matcha latte had people lined up around the corner for months when it came out. It is deliciously worth the wait. Best banana cold foam in my opinion because it's made with actual bananas instead of flavoring so it's much more mellow. The double matcha they had for awhile is also awesome. Banana cold foam also goes great on an espresso latte. Now they let you add whichever cold foam you like to whatever drink which is great. Basically you can't go wrong. They are always changing up the menu for the new season and have lots of unique drinks on their menu. Not much seating inside at this location. The winchester Blvd one has more if that's what you're looking for. Their pastries are also all yummy and they sell their matcha powder for $60 for 100g which is a GREAT price for a great matcha. I would've gate kept this place but everyone already knows about it so I HAVE to show them the love they deserve!!

I heard that Academic had a new seasonal melon matcha and decided to try it. They told me it was…read moreonly around until the end of July and that it's honeydew flavored. I got the melon matcha with whole milk and the matcha cream top. I think I like their guava matcha more than the honeydew, but it was still good. It had a distinct honeydew flavor and the matcha itself was smooth. A friend of mine tried it and said it tasted like a lip smackers, which I think is a good way to describe it. I came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. All the seats inside were taken but there were open tables outside. There's metered parking along Second and William street and it wasn't hard to find a spot. I love coming to academic and trying their new drinks, so I'll definitely be back.
