This place is great if you're craving pho. Plenty of parking. Not really meant for large groups. It's not quick to get your meals because they cook it fresh. They even have a sign that explains this and I love that. So if you have a short lunch break, you're better off doing pick up. Staff is nice. Their Banh mi was delicious. I love their wraps too. So far I've loved everything we order. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

I stumbled across Á Dông Pho while looking for a quick and easy lunch and they didn't disappoint with the BBQ Banh Mi. They assisted me right away and I got my order within 10 minutes. Although it was around 1, there were people coming in and enjoy their pho or any other dishes they offered. The ambiance is very clean, and decorated very nicely. I would wanna come back here to try out other dishes but the Banh Mi was truly worth it if you're looking for one that's balanced and will fill you up!

Cozy spot for small groups. I really enjoyed their pho. Our waitress mentioned that each bowl is made fresh, and you can really taste it. Lots of flavor and a pleasant experience.

Came to A Dong Pho & Coffee at my girl's recommendation. With us needing a catch up, why not do it over yummy food?? Located off of Cottle Rd, this restaurant is nestled in a bare plaza. Def not what I was expecting- with only a Baskin Robbins + a Mexican restaurant neighboring it. We were seated fairly quickly and although the restaurant wasn't busy, the flow of traffic only continued as we sat. The menu is plentiful and offers: appetizers, Vietnamese sandwiches, pho, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, and has a good amount of options for vegetarians. Lunch consisted of: *GOI CUON CHAY- vegetarian spring rolls *NEM NUONG CUON- pork cake spring rolls *CANH GA CHIEN BO- butter fried chicken wings *DAU HU CHIEN LA QUE- garlic basil fried tofu *SIDE ORDER OF RICE *COM TAM BI SUONG NUONG TAU HU KY- grilled pork chop, shrimp cake, + shredded pork over rice. *MI HAI SAN KHO- seafood egg noodles, soup on the side Food: The stand out dish for me was 100% the vegetarian spring rolls. A Dong Pho's vegetarian mix is absolutely delicious- flavored well, filling, and the piece of fried tofu adds to the heartiness. I'd come back specifically for this!! The chicken wings were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was good- nothing lacking when it comes to flavoring. Garlic basil tofu is packed with flavor with a slight crisp texture to balance the dish out. Rice plate was good but the tofu skin wrapped shrimp cake was overly oily. Seafood noodle dish was surprisingly good. 4 stars overall. It's a bit of a drive but I'd easily dine here again. Next time, I might just have to try the banh mi chay.

Great spot for pho in the Cottle area. My toddler liked her noodles which is more than I can ask for. I liked the flavor of their broth. I do think they gave me the wrong bowl of pho but I still ate it. My husband gave me a piece of tendon so I was happy with that. I would come back and try their vermicelli bowls next time.

Food is always good here! I especially love their banh mi! I've been looking for a good restaurant to eat Shaking Beef at and I think I've found it here. The shaking Beef came out on a sizzling platter and had a heaping amount of meat and veggies on it. The flavor of the shaking beef was good and I liked that it had lots of sauce to dip my veggies/meat/rice in. Shrimp cake was a bit oily rather than crispy, but still tasted okay. Pho was good as well! I will be coming back!

My goal in SJ is to find the best pho and BBH. This place did not disappoint! The soup itself was delicious, the pork cake was not the best because I've had better, but overall I'd eat here again! Service and the place was very nice, clean, and taken care of. The parking area was very spacious and great area!

Yum. Just yummmm! The wife and I have been coming here for awhile now and have always had a great experience. The customer service is always on point and attentive. I would say maybe order your appetizers early since the pho comes out fast though. The pho itself is flavorful and never needs too much addition. I just happen to add a little lime and spice to mine but that's all that's really needed. Cold day? Pho day. Hot day? Don't matter, pho day too.

I wanted ramen, but the place I wanted to go to was packed for lunch. I checked out this Vietnamese restaurant and it was busy, but they had an open table. The pho was very good. The broth tasted really clean and satisfying. Only negative I wished they gave you bottles of the hoisin and sriracha sauce at your table instead of the small dish. I always like extra of both and they being easily available at your table, instead of having to bug the server for more. The service was good and the restaurant is very clean and inviting.

The egg crepes was supposed to be very popular and famous. Didn't like it at all. Too oily, little bit of pork and shrimp, lots of bean sprout. Not very tasteful. Banh mi sandwich - just like others. In fact, just so so. Ice coffee - It's premade, you didn't have to drip and pour it in ice. Way too sweet. Flavor is Strong enough though. Service - we requested 2 simple customizations, the waitress forgot both. Waitress asked what drinks do I want with the sandwich, I said I didn't know it comes with drink and order ice coffee, ended up cost me $5. The place is nice and clean. Presentable but that's about it. Frankly, for the quality and the price, not impressive.

    Pho special!!! + coffee!!!

Broth was not so warm but has such clear clean taste. Can taste the aromatics more than the fish sauce in the broth; had a lot of celery like flavor. There were a couple of ribs in the broth with tender meat attached to it. I got the Nam Vang with egg noodles instead of rice noodles. The seasoning for the noodles had a slightly sweet sauce. Noodles itself was perfectly cooked, slight chew to it and not soggy. The dish had the sweet, salty, savory combo The egg rolls were on the smaller side but tightly packed with delicious ground pork. Crispy outside. Came with the slightly spicy sweet fish sauce with chili. The banh beo chen came in one small plate instead of little dipping sauce plates. It had minced shrimp (more like crumbles), friend pork rinds pieces, and green onions. I like that they used shrimp instead of mung bean paste. The steamed tapioca/rice cake base was also topped with fried pork rinds and fried shallots (tasted like smoky onipn rings). The combination of all the texture and taste was well balanced. Sweet, salty, umami.

The Bun Cha Ha Noi is fantastic. The pork belly was grilled perfectly, and it came with a huge assortment of veggies, a big bowl of sauce, and a good amount of rice paper. I loved being able to easily dunk everything into the sauce. Even the small portion was enough for 2 people. The Banh Mi Chao Bo Luc Lac was just okay. I liked that the pate was warmed up with the rest of the dish, and the beef cubes were well seasoned, but they could have been more tender. We also got the fried chicken wings in garlic fish sauce. The flavor on the outside was great, but the breading was a bit dense and the inside needed more flavor. The service was great and they checked on us several times. There is also lots of blue monkey decor throughout to live up to the name.

Unfortunately, the service was not very welcoming--the staff came across as blunt, impatient, and at times rude--but I could have overlooked that if the food had fully lived up to the hype. The broth made a good first impression and clearly included many of the right spices, although it was also quite salty. As I got further into the bowl, however, the flavor started to feel flat and lacked the rich, slow-simmered depth I expect from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It tasted more heavily seasoned than deeply developed, so experienced bún bò Huế fans may find it underwhelming. The meat was also not as tender as I would have liked, and the congealed blood--usually my favorite part--was overcooked and dry rather than smooth and tender. The visible holes suggested it may have been cooked too quickly at too high a temperature. Overall, the meal was decent and had some good flavors, but the broth, meat, and service did not meet my expectations. I can understand why it is popular, but I would probably try another bún bò Huế spot next time.
