I have been curious to try Egghead Sando Cafe for awhile now. I got The Scramble and added sausage. I liked the soft scrambled eggs and the sausage was good. The spicy Mayo is good, but it really made the contents of the sandwich slip out. I would recommend asking for a fork when you order just in case this happens to you. On our way to lunch I saw this place and was curious to try it. I had already checked out the menu before getting here and opted for the scramble sandwich. The space is very spacious - used to be the old home of mc Donald's. It's all clean and tidy and comfortable for groups. The buns are soft and overall the sandwich is fine. I'm not a huge fan of the way the egg is cooked but that is a personal preference. This is a good spot for a breakfast spot for all the egg lovers. Not even the biggest breakfast fan but I thoroughly enjoyed everything I got here. The Chic sandwich was ginormous, super crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. My only wish is that the egg on it was runnier. The Ultimate Sando was such a comforting, savory, and rich sandwich with hints of sweetness from the grilled onions and homemade brioche buns. Speaking of buns, the ones here are super soft, buttery, and fluffy! Also tried their waffle fries and I'm not kidding when I say these were the crispiest waffle fries I've ever had. The Pink Dream was a nice refreshing drink to wash down the food; a good blend of smooth whole milk and fresh strawberry purée. Friendly workers that were fairly quick to make our orders. Took around 5 minutes when it wasn't busy. The interior was nice and clean. Beware of the funky smell in the restroom though! Delicious! My SO has been mentioning this place several times and he brought me to try it on a workday for lunch. I got the fried chicken sandwich and he got the egg sando with a matcha and mmm the food is quite crispy, perfectly flavored and tastes fresh. The Match was packed of so much matcha powder that I felt wired after a sip. The sandos came out propped in a small box. My main suggestion would be for them to provide a plate or something that would make it a bit more comfortable and cleaner to eat the food since the boxes are quite small. I have been sad ever since they closed the Egghead Sando in Cupertino, but since moving to my new place in South San Jose, I was pleasantly surprised to find an Egghead just 5 minutes drive from my house! I got my usual order of The Chic with a Strawberry Matcha Latte. For the uninitiated, The Chic is a good introduction to what Egghead excels in: a massive, battered, dark meat chicken paired with a sunny side up egg, arugula, sauce, and a bouncy brioche bun. The chicken spills out of the bun and is just so juicy. The matcha helps cut through the richness and and is a nice finish to the meal. Leonardo was so rude and incredibly unprofessional. Talking over me, interrupting me, and speaking about me in Spanish in front of me to his coworkers. I speak Spanish so I understood which is very silly. I've never had a bad interaction with any staff member here at this place before. When I asked if I could get light ice on my drink, which I had requested beforehand, Leonardo seemed insulted? Leonardo told me that if I thought I was going to get more coffee just because I asked for light ice I was wrong. Then proceeds to dump out the ice, pour one oz of coffee in my cup and literally 16oz of heavy cream for the rest of the drink. He smacked the cup in the table in front of me and said " here! Overall tasty sandwiches, but they did not sit well. I still feel awful 8 hours after eating it. I don't mean that the food is unsafe or unsanitary, just that it's incredibly heavy and not something my wimpy digestive system can handle. You can order from a kiosk or cashier. We ordered from the cashier who told us it would take about 10 mins for our food to come out, which was accurate. I ordered the chic because I heard that they use thigh meat, which is what I like. I never normally eat chicken sandwiches because I don't care for breast meat. So this sounded perfect. It was tasty, but as you can see in my photo, the chicken is comically thick which made it super messy and difficult to eat. I ended up taking it home and using a knife and fork. It also felt very lacking in sauce, but the person who took our order kindly gave me extra when I asked. I would want 4-5x the sauce they put on there. Also both the breading and the chicken itself were very uneven. Some bites were great, others were completely fat, or completely hard batter and no meat. I wouldn't eat this again. My partner got the BEC, which was quite tasty although very salty. I like salty food and I still found it salty, so the average person would probably think it's too salty. The BEC was less than half the height of the chic so it was easy and normal to eat, but still extremely heavy. Initially I wanted to go back and order the BEC in the future, but now I can't see myself going back here as I still have a tummy ache so long after eating and it kinda ruined my day. read more

The interior is shaped like a backwards L with ordering comes first, soda fountain, and seating from booth and tables. They even have waiting chairs for people who place to go orders. SERVICE: The staff member who took my order was super patient; she double checked my order with me and built some rapport as she noticed that I had a kpop photocard in my lululemon bag and started a conversation. Order took about 10-15 minutes since it was a busy morning, so definitely justified and understandable. They give you a pager once your order is ready and you can pick it up at the counter. ORDERS: My family ordered 3 sandwiches: The scramble, the Hawaiian Morning, and the Breakfast Burger and a side of waffle fries to share which totaled around $45. -Waffle Fries: I typically don't like waffle fries, but these were so good. Well seasoned, light, crispy, and delicious. -Scramble: lots of scrambled eggs with chives and small diced of onion smacked between two soft brioche buns. The eggs were so fluffy and salted to perfection. Super light but filling once I finished the sandwich. Nice kick from their spicy mayo sauce. -Hawaiian Morning: Juicy slice of spam and fried egg is a match made in heaven. The arugula as the vegetable was hit and miss because some were bitter and some were sweet. It's on the corner of Santa Teresa and Cottle where the McDonald's used to be. Plenty of parking! The decor is really cute - minimal and clean. I believe this Egghead Sando Cafe is the newest of their 4 locations. This is a semi-busy plaza with plenty of shared parking in the lot. Steve was the main employee who helped me and he was accommodating, but all of the employees were friendly and helpful as well. For drinks, I tried their Pineapple Cucumber Green Tea and Strawberry Matcha Latte with honey boba. Their breakfast sandwiches were huge and definitely delicious. The Eggy consisted of a poached egg on top of smooth potato puree with bacon and chives, and it is served with toasted baguettes on the side. The Side Chic consisted of grilled chicken, bacon, over medium egg, tomato, arugula, and chimichurri sauce in a brioche bun. Their chicken sandwich has a texture like a massive popcorn chiken to it that was amazing. A true definition of what a 'premium' breakfast sandwich should be and the size of their sandwiches is huge. You could possible split them in half for 2 as it gets very filling if you eat it all on your own. Their sides of waffle fries or tater tots is VERY generous as they literally fill their container to the brim and I'm assuming one person could not eat by themselves. They're perfectly crisp as well and even when I had them as take out for about 10 minutes away, it was still crisp by the time I ate them at home. They also have a variety of coffee/tea drinks as well that is excellent too. Tea Era is literally next door and I have to say when it comes to coffee drinks, Egghead is definitely better here and worth the purchase. I was a little saddened to see how sparse the place is most of the times I stopped by and I'm assuming one of the possible reasons is the price is slightly higher than your typical breakfast spot (much more than what McDonald's had). But the price you pay for what you get, is it worth it? Well worth it in my opinion. Service is quick and friendly as well. For breakfast sandwiches in particular, Egghead Sando will have you covered for exceptional breakfast sandwiches. Enjoy them with their excellent fries and a nice coffee/tea drink, and you'll be set to start your day. I've never actually eaten at the location, but I work nearby and we order from here a lot. I usually get the "ultimate" sandwich and tater tots. Dude! The tater tots are SO good!!! I was super impressed the first time I ordered them. Salty, crispy deliciousness. I will continue to try different items on the menu, but nothing has disappointed yet. My favorite is still the "ultimate" though. I think I wanna try the Hawaiian breakfast sando next. I also really enjoy their strawberry matcha latte. I get it cold with light ice. I enjoy it because it isn't too sweet. Since I haven't eaten there, I can't speak on the ambiance or service really. What I can say is that they pack their food for travel well. I was excited to come here for the first time but on the way here there was some traffic. I saw on my GPS that I could still make it on time so I continued to drive there. I arrived at 2:50 PM and saw a burger menu and was confused so I asked if that was egg head restaurant. The guy at the counter said that egghead closes at 3 and they switch to a burger place after. I said "but it's not 3 yet". He said "yeah but there's a transition phase where the cooks need to transition to get ready for the burger menu". I told him they should change the closing time for egghead to 2:50 then. I know it's not his fault and he didn't make the rules but who ever runs that place needs to update the closing time because saying it closes at 3 is disingenuous. Closing 10-15 minutes early is the kind of unprofessional stuff that restaurants with poor customer service do these days. This wasn't a normal or acceptable thing until recent years. read more

First thoughts upon entering: I love the ambience of this place. If we weren't sweaty and gross from the gym I would've loved to dine in! I ordered the B.E.C. and my bf ordered the Chic, both were SUPER delicious. We kept trading off so the other could bite each sandwich. The Chic is on the saltier side, BUT with the arugula and cheese I feel that it was the perfect balance. 100 percent will be ordering it again. We also got a side of tots, I thought they were gonna just be whatever, but they seasoned it with something and they were very crispy so that was a great addition to our meal.
