I am not a vegetarian but this is a very good sandwich whether you eat meat or not. I ordered a spiced deviled egg. The taste and texture were good but way too salty for my taste. The salt would not have been necessary as the flavors were well done. First thing I have ordered that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Previous review was 5 stars so I could not give 5 stars this time. Enjoyed being able to try this new spot! I felt the restaurant was clean, open and bright. The staff member that helped me was patient and very kind! I took my food to go and got an extra entree in addition to the wrap. The food was still warm when I got home and had good flavor! Things I did note- the electronic menu behind the counter continues to change which is frustrating if you are trying to read the menu. However, they have a QR code and a printed menu available. The meat in my wrap was really dry and felt like the scarps from the grill. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the wrap and the roti it was wrapped in was delicious! The chicken masala entree was good but I wish it had more chicken. Came here for lunch with a friend of mine and we really enjoyed our experience there. The location is super convenient right off 86th street. It is a very bright, open, and inviting environment that you are greeted with immediately upon walking in. We ordered a chicken masala sandwich and one of their famous egg sandwiches, along with a unique salted butter milk drink. The chicken sandwich was delicious really unique combination of spices that was balanced with the mayo and veggies that were also on the sandwich. The egg sandwich was also surprisingly delicious--much better than any egg salad that was typically found at summer bbqs. This is next level of what you can do with eggs! It's Indian inspired street food using eggs cooked in different forms with gravies heavily seasoned! You order the food at the counter and then they bring it to your choice of seating area. If you need drinks from the menu they'll bring it out but if you want water they have a water station where you get it yourself. I went to eggholic with 4 of my friends and we ordered a bunch of things from the menu to share. Our favorites were the samosa chaat and the chicken sandwich. The desi omelette was also very nostalgic as it reminded me of the omelettes my mom would make growing up at home. The service was quick and everything came out at pretty much at once so we did not have to wait. Plenty of seating space inside and a great casual place to go with friends. For a long time in Indianapolis, you could really only find one type of Indian food. It was the sort that was most marketable to the Hoosier public, and it still holds up, but we've come a long way since them. The variety of flavors, ingredients, and creations in Indian cuisine is as variegated and diverse as the subcontinent of over a billion people, and I was so excited to try another dimension of this when Eggholic opened up here in town. Eggholic is a chain, but the franchise feels local. The owner and staff know the menu front and back and make recommendations for unique takes on street food that really can't be found anywhere else in central Indiana. I've heard so many great things about this place I couldn't wait to try it. And it lived up to every bit of the hype! The food was so fresh and delicious. I had the chicken butter masala and the chicken was so tender, juicy and flavorful. The portion size was large so I left filling full and happy. The staff was very friendly and explained everything in detail since it was my first time. The restaurant had a cool vibe from the decor to the music and the live cricket games being projected onto one of the walls. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because this restaurant has 3 air fresheners in the dining room alone. My guest and I had to end up moving tables because it kept releasing fragrance and was so strong. Unfortunately moving didn't help because the dining room is small enough that anywhere we sat we couldn't escape the smell so I left with a headache. I love eggholic!! The servers here are SO kind and so friendly, I came here with a large party and they were accommodating and even offered us free food to try. The restaurant is causal and lively, with cricket playing on a large screen and fun decor throughout the space. They have tables and booth seating, with plenty of space. The food was awesome! I found an Indian restaurant that my husband likes, Eggholic. It's located in a strip mall and may have gone unnoticed before, but it's definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has a modern and clean look with beautiful murals and plants, and Bollywood music playing in the background to set the mood for spice. The lady working at the counter was very sweet and made sure to check with us multiple times about the level of spice we could handle. My husband ordered the Lava Pulav at Indian hot spice level, which was delicious. The omelet used as the base was so flavorful that it could still be tasted amid all the other flavors in the dish. I ordered the green boiled fry, which was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of spiciness. I would have preferred bread to eat the rest of the sauce with. Raita is a must-try sauce that helps cool down the heat without affecting the flavor. We also tried Pani Puri, which we didn't like in the traditional way of eating because it was too salty. However, we stuffed it with some of the Lava Pulva and made our own yummy dish. The desi chai was too weak for my taste, but my husband loved the mango lassi. This was my first time having Indian cuisine and I must say....It's worth a trip back. The paneer masala was my favorite. The blend of spices with the chicken and veggies were so good. The Dahi puri was good but is an acquired taste. The potato/chickpea stuffing flavor was really earthy almost overwhelming. However the sweetness from the yogurt mellowed out those seasonings and I enjoyed it. My lemonade was delightful and refreshing. The atmosphere of Eggholic going in was calm and quiet. The host was nice and very soft spoken but still told me about each item I had questions about, his best sellers and what he suggested. As I was waiting for my order more and more yelpers started to come in and you could see the excitement of the workers. The atmosphere began to change as well. It started to liven up a bit, with more patrons and music and even a projector was playing music videos that I didn't notice when I came in. I was genuinely excited to see how happy they were. This is a large open space with lots of hard surfaces, meaning sound would be an issue even if they weren't blasting loud pop music (which they do). Even with noise-canceling earbuds, the noise levels were distractingly high. Do not recommend for anyone who has trouble in loud environments. read more
