Its savory flavor tasted more indulgent than typical hash browns. It was a good single portion. The Slut (2 stars) was way too salty that it distracted from the nicely cooked coddled egg. I preferred a better quality crusty baguette. I should have ordered a sandwich instead like the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese, which I previously liked at Grand Central Market location. Very popular, slow to prepare the order as there were only two people ahead of me (it took 24 minutes), and none of it had any distinct flavor. Upon entering you'll be taking by the music or noise level, especially not expected. I happened to enjoy it. The menu offered several egg dishes. I chose the Fairfax sandwich and tater tots. Not much of a coffee selection. The sandwich came hot and the eggs seasoned with a hint sriracha was perfect. The taters were nice and crispy. Overall may be a bit pricey for some ($25 total). I came in to grab a quick lunch, and everything went pretty smoothly! There weren't too many people in line, so we were able to order pretty quickly and the food also came out pretty quickly as well. The drinks are mostly pre-made so after ordering your drinks you'll get them right away, but the food takes a little more time to prepare. I ordered the fairfax sandwich and it was yummy! The location is conveniently located near Cedars Sinai, but I would genuinely choose the hospital food options over this for both value and taste. Having been to the Glendale location a few months ago, I was extra excited to satisfy my craving for another Fairfax breakfast sandwich. Much to my disappointment, this location was not as good. The staff was friendly but the food was not piping hot nor were the tables and chairs cleaned. I came in about 30 mins prior to closing time and there was food dropped on the floor under various tables and it didn't exactly leave the best impression. Then when our food came out, the eggs on my sandwich weren't hot and the truffle hashbrowns tasted very oily. If you're starving and this is the only breakfast place open near you I'd say take the chance on it, perhaps they were just having an off day... but if you have a choice and can get to a different Eggslut location, do that. read more

My first Eggslut visit was to the Santa Monica location years ago, later downtown. Yes, this location is outside on the lower level of a mall, they "sold out". The look and layout is still similar, the service is as very good / friendly. I got my drinks immediately and sat down, food was ready a few minutes later. Now the sandwich was good, my opinion is the bun is 20% too big for the contents, and it felt like it had a half pound of bacon, but all the components were cooked perfectly and tasted great, as were the of truffle flavored potatoes. I've been around the area for years now and I've passed by this often but never got to try it out. I was in the area on a Saturday noon and was finally able to come in. The line was pretty short when I came in and it only took a few minutes for my order to be ready. I ordered the Sausage Egg and Cheese Sandwich ($9.75), and I've also tried the Truffle Hash Brown ($4.50). It's pretty pricey, but also typical for LA. The sandwich I got was pretty good though and the egg in it was cooked over easy so it's runny. I didn't know this and my yolk popped when I bit into it and I made a giant mess on my plate. They give you 6 pieces of hash browns about the size of McDonalds chicken nuggets, which is enough to pair with your sandwich, but still pricey for $4.50. There's only a few spots inside for seating so you have to get pretty lucky to get a table. They do have counter seating along the windows and the counters facing the open kitchen. It's definitely a quick eat and go type of place and not meant for staying long periods of time at. It might be more worth it to get their specialties, but the food here is pretty good. Staff was friendly, but be prepared for limited seating options. It can fill up fast and there are a handful of tables and mostly counter space to share. The standout was the truffle hash browns. Came out hot and they were bursting with flavor. Be prepared that these sandwiches can get messy So be prepared to bond fast if you're on a date :) The eggs on the Fairfax were so soft and you could taste the freshness of the bun. I added bacon. I heard good things from friends about this place but I was really disappointed. The eggs were not fluffy too me. The brioche bun with the caramelized onions and melted cheese was good but I didn't like the eggs. The eggs was really salty & kinda mushy. Its also kind of pricey for a sandwich. I am devastated that Eggslut is not in Michigan! I was visiting LA and stopped in for breakfast. There was so like and the workers were very helpful and patient while I picked out my sandwich. My only note was more seating I had the bacon egg and cheese with a scrambled egg. When I tell you that this was the breakfast sandwich I had ever had, I am not kidding.
