Went here after a long time of scoping the place out. I love eggs and had huge expectations from this place to be my in my top 5 places for dinners or takeouts. And, food wise, I would say I was not disappointed. The waitstaff is also very attentive and helpful. The kitchen and bar are another story, though. Went here today afternoon for lunch, ordered a signature mimosa, veggie crepe and meat omellette with a side of bacon. The meat omelette was good but the bacon was mushy/chewy.. not crispy. So I called it out to the wait staff and asked them to redo it. They asked me if I need to have the bacon extra crispy - I am not sure what is extra crispy. Either something is crispy or its not. This also gave me a bad reminder of what i had read in another review that their bacon wasn't crispy for the reviewer. I was hoping it would be a one off thing and like all people, i hoped my order would be perfect. But it wasn't. Fortunately, the kitchen redid the bacon and the bacon was finally crispy. My meat omelette came with a side of Lyonnaise-style potatoes - I really enjoyed them. The veggie crepe was very flavorful and the accompanying salad was good too. It felt like a great option for me if I want to have something light some day, being paired with a nice salad. For drinks, I had the signature mimosa. It was a little too sweet. I could hardly taste the champagne. Tasted just like a nice freshly squeezed OJ. I really wanted a nice lunch with some drinks so I brushed aside the bad experience and ordered their Irish coffee. That too came out pretty dilute. You could taste just a little bit of Jameson. I have had drinks in so many brunch places, speakeasys, restaurants etc but when you're charging 8-10 bucks on an average you shouldn't skimp on the base liquor. I wouldn't complain about watered down happy hour drinks at 5 bucks at a bar, but when you boast of a nice mimosa bar menu with pricey drinks, you have to meet the standards. Before leaving, i tried to give the feedback on diluted drinks to the waitress, hoping it would be a new bartender seeing that the place opened recently. But the waitress asked me to stay and speak with the manager.Turns out the manager was least interested in the feedback. I was told: "This is a chain of restaurants and the drinks I was served were made according to their recipes and that they were perfect. And that if I wanted an additional shot of liquor in it, i could ask for it and i would be charged extra for that shot. And the mimosa was sweet because they had used some very expensive sweet oranges for the juice." It was pretty awkward - felt like i was talking to a McDonalds manager complaining about their Mcflurry! He was least interested in a customer's feedback - especially one for whom they had already messed up the food order and I wasn't even complaining about it. After reading messages from this location's business managers to people's reviews, I was expecting a promise of looking into the bar standards so I would come again and give them a shot later, but i was taken aback. It was pretty embarassing being treated like either I don't know my drinks or I am trying to get additional liquor without paying for it. And this was after I had signed the check and left tip. I wanted them to succeed - they are close to my place, I want to come here for drinks too. But with that attitude, time will tell. Food was 5, drinks was 1, waitstaff was 4. The misbehavior at the end by the manager left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, so taking 1 star off for my bad experience. My take is: definitely check the place out - if you love eggs, plenty of options. If not, there are few veggie and steak options too. Go for the food, not the drinks - unless I was unlucky with a particular Saturday shift bartender who makes diluted drinks, which is possible. The wait staff is amazing - be good to them. They are informative and helpful so your meal experience will be good. Don't ask for the manager though! Takeouts are a great option too. Hopefully they get on uber eats and grubhub so I can avoid the staff entirely and still get the food at home, lol! read more

First time at this place and I was displeased. We waited over 30 minutes for a table. Once we got a table, our waitress was rude and didn't even try to tell me what menu items were vegan. My sister called earlier to find out if they had vegan options and the woman said they had plenty of options. The fact that the waitress didn't know what plant based food was or what options were vegan, was concerning. I would not come back to place again. read more

My friend and I met for breakfast on Saturday and were both blow away by our selections! My lemon ricotta blueberry topped pancakes were perfection! They were light and fluffy and had more than just a hint of lemon (which I thoroughly appreciated being a lemon-flavor lover). I paired it with a cup of the eggspectation coffee. YUM! I sampled my friend's French toast flambe and wanted more! Flavorful and cooked just right (no soggy center). But not only was the food ingredible, the service was great too. We were seated right way, our order was delivered quickly and hot. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast very good, staff very friendly, place large and clean. Only issue was the wait time to be seated , we counted over 10 open tables , and waited 20 minutes. It was eventually explained to us ( after we asked) that the kitchen couldn't handle a full restaurant and they didn't want people to wait at their tables? Not sure why they'd want people to wait in the lobby, staring at open tables and told there is a 20 minute wait, if there was a problem with the kitchen, people should be seated and it explained to them regardless. Egggggscellent!! Eggspectation far exceeded my expectations for sure! First, let me commend our server, Ed. Not only was he pleasant and a great server in general, but every recommendation he made was spot on! Now onto the restaurant. This is a brand new, modern, clean restaurant. The menu has a surprising variety. I had originally thought there wouldn't be much more than egg-based dishes, but they have all sorts of other items like burgers and sandwiches and flatbreads and pastas, etc. They also have a tasty variety of mimosas and any smoothie can be spiked too! I highly recommend the sausage and peppers flatbread. It was amazing! For my entree I had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. I'm usually not satisfied when I order pancakes, but this time I can say I was entirely happy I ordered them! The flavor is intense (I didn't even need syrup) and delicious. I love everyone here and the service from my waiter Ed was terrific! I had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage and two eggs. I love that the food is left perfect just the way God made it with no genetically modified organisms in JESUS mighty name!!! The sausage and eggs were fresh delicious and nutritious with healthy omega vitamins. The pancakes were tasty served with healthier 100 percent organic maple syrup. Wow. What an interesting new restaurant in the Stanton area! A friend of mine had wanted to take me and my husband out for brunch for months, but life just got in the way. We finally settled on a recent Sunday and we decided to try out Eggspectation so she and my husband could have a drink with their meal. We entered this bustling, well-lit and warmly welcoming restaurant and were told it would be 35-40 minutes for a table. We put in our name and were amazed to find their waitlist is run through Yelp! and we could have put our name in at home before we even got to the restaurant -- this is definitely something we'll be doing again in the future! So, BE SURE YOU hop on the waitlist on Yelp! before you head over. We actually ended up waiting closer to an hour and eventually were seated at a very large booth that probably could have fit eight. That's actually one of our only complaints. While waiting, we noticed a NUMBER of tables that were empty. Most of the tables are LARGE. Like...being able to seat six or more people. Were they short-staffed or do they not do communal eating at the tables? Either way, I think there was definitely lots of available seating during our visit and seating a party of three in a booth that could fit eight seemed a bit of a waste. Now onto our brunch...! Our friend ordered a cranberry mimosa, which she said tasted good, but wasn't cold at all. She added an ice cube from her water, but left it half consumed. My husband got the regular mimosa with fresh-squeezed orange juice and loved every last drop of it. I stuck with water. Waitress was slow at noticing our water glasses needed more constant refilling, which on this VERY hot day was a bit concerning. Our friend ordered the avocado toast Benedict with a side of grits. She absolutely loved this dish, but believed it should have come with another few pieces of toast to sop up all of the "liquid gold" that ended up on the plate even after the dish was gone. So, she did just that and the waitress was accommodating with this request. She gave us both a taste of her grits and they were very cheesy, perfectly seasoned, and with the right amount of grit that had a pleasant "toothfeel." My husband ordered the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. Three nice-sized pancakes with lemon ricotta layered between each and a big dollop on top. The blueberry syrup was perfect...not cloyingly sweet and it had noticeable real berries within. A definite winner. I ordered the Toluca poutine. This was a great mix of tater tots, chorizo, caramelized onions, cheese curds, their house "breakfast gravy," and one sunny-side-up egg. I thought the portion was rather small, but the flavors were all there. I only needed a little splash of hot sauce, which was quickly provided. The cheese curds were perfectly melty over the the hot tots and chorizo. A really great meal. We lounged a bit following our meal and our friend wanted to get one more thing -- crepes Suzette. Three came per order, so we each got one. The crepes were perfectly cooked with a nice brown on the outside that gave way to a nice, chewy crepe that was sauced with some orange marmalade. Really nice, sweet end to this meal. Service was ok. We thought our waitress could have been a bit more attentive to our table. Also, my husband's pancakes came out about five minutes before the other dishes. That is a big no-no in our book. He waited out of courtesy until we got our dishes, but his pancakes had cooled down slightly in the interim. Overall, we think we will be returning soon to Eggspectation. The issues we had were probably minor, especially considering they've only recently opened. We will absolutely be sure to get on the waitlist on Yelp! before heading over to enjoy our next Sunday brunch! read more

We walked in and were seated soon after. The place is nice and the menu looked great however I told our waitress that I was didn't want any meat on my meal. She brought me the wrong order twice, both with meat after. I didn't get an apology or anything. I had a crepe(which I did not have to pay for) as well which was delicious, but don't bother with the cakes at the counter because the slice we had was dry, the cream was falling off of the cake and it tasted as if it was sitting there for months. This place went beyond my expectations! Was my first time, and our server was absolutely wonderful, very attentive and friendly. Our food was amazing, we had the Brie Apple crostini for appetizer and I had the avocado toast Benedict for my meal and my friend had the lobster Benedict. My mother in law purchased a gift card the morning of mother's day with a debit card. We know the date, time, and amount. The gift card got misplaced and they said sorry can't do anything to replace it our system doesn't work like that. A system that doesn't record gift card purchases this is hard to believe. With all the staff standing around and only few customers, you would think the place would be spotless. We ate anyway.
