Wife and I stopped in last Saturady a week ago with my brother and his wife to give this place a try for dinner. Staff was very friendly and service was good. My brother and I had the crabcakes Benedict. The crabcakes were just, okay. Did not have any real flavor. The Hollandaise sauce was terrible! It had a thick pudding consistancy rather than a sauce. Not sure if it was sitting in a warmer to long. (Maybe from that morning's breakfast service) While not the best, IHOPs sauce is better than what we were served. My wife had the salmon and did enjoy her meal. May go back to this place again at a later date to try something different. read more

Beautiful restaurant! Adult beverages are very good. I've eaten here a multiple times and tried different things each time. Their chicken and waffles is the BEST I've ever tasted (big factor in my 4 star rating). Their grits are amazing. Lamb chops are cooked good but lack any type of seasoning. Great food, nice size portions. The decor is very nice and modern. I read a few reviews that mentioned that service was slow but I've never experienced this. Normal wait time for food and if you use Yelp for a reservation than the wait is minimal. The service is also pretty good but unfortunately if the place is busy, you'll have to wait a little longer for food maybe but it's expected. The food is amazing. I went twice thus far. I had the shrimp and grits my first visit. Would've been great if I was able to substitute turkey products instead of the pork that was in it but it was still okay. The second time I went, I had the eggtravaganza menu option. Eggspectation was a disappointment. The environment was cozy and the menu seemed promising. I order the smoked salmon eggs Benny and it came out like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. Considering we were a table of two, that shouldn't have been the case. The salmon was quite warm and the egg was well over cooked. It was quite upsetting considering we waited about 50 minutes for the food to arrive. When I mentioned this to the server it took over 10 minutes for a manager to come by. It just seemed like we weren't much of a priority. I'm sure if I ordered a burger or something else that wouldn't have been a problem. Great place for breakfast. Visiting from out of town and was tired of hotel food. Ate there two days in a row, was not that crowded on a Wednesday and Thursday. Food was fresh,hot and served quickly. I'm not really sure why it is that I chose to come back here a second time. My first time here was a horrible experience with the waitstaff, more so a bartender who had a friend come in and gave me no service and totally messed up my order. This led to me waiting an excessively long time for my food to be delivered to me which sat at the end of the bar, which was also the wrong food. From there the bartender offered to have the food remade (I'd already waited 20mins for this food with very little customers in the restaurant). I said screw it, paid for my coffee and left. This time around the waitress can barely be found for assistance. There's nothing wrong with the food that I've been allowed to eat. My advice to anyone who orders here: Order a spoon with your coffee. You won't see a server for some time after they sling your drinks in your table. After a forty minutes wait, the server was very friendly and took our order right away. Bloody Mary was good, maybe not a $10 Bloody. The fresh juice smoothie was tasty, but served at room temperature, not cold, and was a little off-putting for that reason. The food came about half an hour after we ordered. I order the Cajun Shrimp and Grits initially and when it came out it was covered in red tomato sauce or something. All I know is that I didn't like it and I certainly didn't taste anything "cajun" about it. I ask for my check and without a "here you go, thank you, take your time", comes back in 30 seconds with "you're ready?" I was livid. At point the GM came with apologies and an 8% discount. So basically, No Tip and this review. I always leave a tip and try not to leave a negative review but they literally ruined my lunch with my girls. What a wonderful restaurant. From arrival to departure the quality of our meal and service were both perfect. You cannot go wrong dining at Eggspectation. My coffee cup was refilled with great timing and my Grand Mimosa was delicious (and bigger than expected!). Arrived at 10:15am had a 15 min wait for a party of 5 on a Saturday morning. My family throughly enjoyed the brioche French toast, pancakes, pork bacon, and pork and turkey sausage. They really dropped the ball with the poutine - no chorizo, no pico, no egg, no tots. It was listed with entrees but this was a side portion of fries with sauce. Gave us an incorrect side also - ended up paying $5 for 7 slices of potato - not the bacon we ordered. $60 for a sandwich, a salad and side of fries is pretty steep. I'm delayed in posting this review, but I have to point out what a surprising visit I had at Eggspectation. I work across the street and noticed the sign while sitting at the light and my dad & I meet for dinner out and decided to try. He pulled up the reviews while waiting and asked why I chose it because some reviews were not favorable and the parking lot was sparse. As we entered we had to ask if they were open. I only hope more people will learn of this restaurant and enjoy it like we did because it's definitely the best dining experience we've had in all of our Middletown to Wilmington dining out nights! Our server was Stacey and she was training a new employee and it's no wonder why: Stacey was AMAZING!! She made us feel so welcomed and comfortable, helped us with menu suggestions which were spot on from appetizers to cocktails to entrees! She even convinced my usually stoic dad to split dessert. I've told my work colleagues about our experience, told friends, and seeing as how I have no rooftop to shout from, I'm telling you Yelpers...GO!! Don't take a few bad seed experiences, try for yourself and you will not be disappointed. We went here with a group of about 6 people and the service was extremely slow. I ordered an omelet and after waiting about 25 minutes I inquired about the status and they told me they are working on it. I asked about how much longer because at this point our entire group had their entree with the exception of me. The waitress stated she was unsure how much longer to take and ask if I wanted to make it for a to go meal.
