After a horrible experience with another company whose only beneficial comment (after 4 hours) was that I needed a new furnace & new air conditioner, I called 3 more companies for quotes. I was by far the most impressed with Kristian. He had previously been an installer/technician but has recently become a sales person. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable; we actually enjoyed chatting too much! He explained to me that their company actually makes and installs new ductwork with their furnaces so that they don't have to retrofit what's already there. He was also the only one who noticed that my water heater was old and would need replacing soon. His quote was a bit higher than the other that I'd narrowed it down to, but I liked the Daikin furnace that he quoted because it has a very good reputation, the best warranty in the business and is environmentally friendlier than others. Additionally, rather than just doing a quote with line items, he attached pictures of each piece of equipment that would be installed, which I thought was a nice touch. I really wanted to go with him, but I had to think it over. In the meantime, I started to schedule a couple more appointments with other companies that offered 0% financing. I was going to wait to make my decision until I'd gotten the last quote or 2. But Kristian texted me on a SUNDAY NIGHT! to ask what he could do to help with my decision. I told him that if he could do 0% financing, I would go with him. He managed to arrange that for 12 months and I signed the contract that evening. Of course, this happened during an incredible heat spell, with temperatures in the upper 90s with matching humidity, so they couldn't get out as quickly as I'd hoped. When they were scheduled, Steve came out as the lead technician, with Brandon and Alex helping the first day and mostly just Brandon the second day. They got here at about 8:15 a.m. and didn't leave until about 7:30 p.m. BOTH nights! They worked super hard, hardly taking breaks at all, and they were short at that. Steve promised that they'd have the air conditioner working before they left the first night, and indeed, they did. It was the first time in over a week that I walked into a cool house. When Steve removed the furnace, he came upstairs and said that the water heater was about to blow, so I went downstairs to look at it. It was, indeed, bowing out. Kristian had already quoted a price but I was originally going to wait. But when I saw it myself (leaking, rusting and with a definite bubble), I texted him and told him I wanted that replaced as well. He was able to add it to the financing without a problem. So, in the end, I had a new furnace, humidifier, air conditioner, some ducts and a water heater installed. I have nothing but good things to say about this crew. They were all very kind, personable young men who knew what they were doing. I feel confident that I chose the right company to do this work. read more

Ehlers heating and cooling has a concern for their customers. Satisfaction. Even though they were here earlier in the week and didn't do anything but charged me for a service call., they returned today and replaced a part that they felt was making the noise. I don't hear a noise anymore so that must have fixed the problem! I really appreciate doing business with companies like Ehlers! read more

Hi Eric, I was going to leave this alone after your response but felt the need to respond for future customers to look at, as your response contained a lot of inaccurate information. I have attached a screenshot of the time of my initial call, which was not at 10:27pm, but was at 7:31pm. This isn't that big of a deal but was untrue in your response. I also have a text to my fiancé which I have uploaded that shows the job was complete at 12:35pm. This would leave the total time at my house from 11:52am to 12:35pm, which is 43min. In your invoice, it suggests the service fee of $99 is for the diagnostics portion and is up to 30min. I truthfully don't know exactly how long it took to diagnose and then fix. But I will be generous and say 15 of the 43 minutes was for diagnosing, and the rest was for repair. This leaves the total time for repair at 28 minutes, which I ended up paying ~$300 for. Your response suggesting he was at my home for 1hr and 26min is just untrue. I understand you would like to part ways, and agree that feeling is mutual, but I felt the need to show that I am not the customer you are painting me out to be, as this is the first and only review I have ever left for a company. It is unfortunate a call could not be placed to me to discuss this, as I would have preferred to stay off the internet and discuss this via a phone call. Regards read more

My boyfriend called Jon and he was fast, friendly, reasonable and reliable I would definitely recommend!

Just has a new furnace installed. Jake and Anthony did a terrific job. Very prompt, professional and curtitious. I have used them for over 20 years. A great company. providing excellent service. read more

Replaced my furnace this winter during some of the coldest days of the year when my furnace was emitting carbon monoxide and could no longer be used. Ehlers did my AC years ago, too. Furnace wasn't cheap, but bid was competitive and I didn't have to freeze in my house for long. They lent me portable electric heaters to keep the house warm enough until they did the installation. Work was completed in one day. Nice salesperson and technicians, office staff, everyone. I'd work with them again any time! read more

Greatness, again!! I did a review in 2019 after Ehlers installed a new A/C and Furnace. I was so impressed then...and they earned my respect and appreciation yet again. I had returned home on leave from the Air Force during the Labor Day holiday weekend. There had been terrible storms within the latter 2 weeks, and the A/C unit did not work when I arrived home. Highly probable due to storm damage. Anyway, I needed emergency service during this sweltering heat and for my short time while back home. Ehlers came through, and the hero this time was Chuck Jaynes. Impressive just begins to describe his expertise, patience, and unparalleled service. He took a lot of time to do proper diagnostics and locate the exact nature of the fault. He then spent time discussing all aspects of his findings with Carrier and was able to obtain a key (and expensive!!) part from Carrier via warranty. This repair, including obtaining the part from Carrier took the afternoon, and I am so grateful for Chuck's great understanding, expertise, and patience. He explained the process throughout and, most importantly, the unit was properly repaired. This guy is a true superstar! They earned my strongest possible recommendation in 2019, and certainly have reinforced this in 2023. Ehlers and Chuck rate 10 stars!!! read more

a notification came through on our ecobee thermostat that our AC might not be working properly. Called Ehlers at 843 pm and was called back in less than 10 min! Exemplary service AGAIN from this HVAC Company! Technician Chuck came by in a timely manner and was knowledgable, competent, friendly and kind! Such a pleasure to work with Ehlers! Erica the receptionist is awesome as well ---and the man who called in less than 10 minutes after hours-Im sorry I didn't catch his name but he was GREAT! If you are in need of HVAC service or equipment don't hesitate to call this company!! read more

Such a disappointment!!! I have used Ehlers for over 10 years, because they were honest and fair Not any longer, they just gouging me like I've never been gouged before. I had paid for them to check my furnace in the fall but they miss the fact that the thermostat was not working properly. They just charged me $800+ to install a new thermostat which sells at Home depo for $169. I was out of town and at their mercy. I'll never use them again. read more

Their service vans, in full company representation, illegally speed through busy residential areas including through a busy four-way stop! Dangerous and unprofessional as well as representing the company as one that's okay with unsafe drivers. Would not trust them with a vehicle, let alone any HVAC. Disappointing. read more

They simply do what is promised at a fair value. No surprises. Arrive on time, courteous, respectful and do good work. read more

Ehlers provides top quality service. Their sales, installation, and office personnel are all knowledgeable and a pleasure. My furnace and air conditioner have been in service for several years without and issue. My utility bills are reasonable and my house is comfortable. My air conditioner is quiet (unlike many of my neighbor's units). I do a great deal of cooking in the summer, and my house stays comfortable even if I am hosting a large dinner party. read more

Our a/c stopped working last week for unknown reasons. w/ a v. hot week coming up, was panicking. had to wait until Monday evening for tech, Oscar, to come out. He was terrific. We had thought it was the furnace, as we could not get the furnace fan to work, to push cold air up. But it was not. It was the actual cental a/c unit. Somehow some !%*((^!!! wildlife had made themselves at home in there and damaged the power flow. Oscar was v. professional, thorough and determined to find the cause, which he did. Had the part needed to repair it w/ him. Before he left it was all running and house was already cooling down. We thought the rates were fair and utterly delighted our a/c was repaired. Give Oscar a big raise!!!!!! read more

Central Air Conditioning unit, 19 years old, stops working on a Saturday about noon. Stone dead, bereft of life.Temps in the mid 80s with a solid 11 day period of mid 90s forecasted. I called Ehler's H&AC the following Monday. Salesman Eric couldn't get a crew out for another 2-3 weeks. Everyone else booked up as well. Its so damn hot in the house, so we go to a local hotel. Salesman Eric makes it happen and gets a crew out on Thursday; Unfreakin' believable. The 'J Crew', Jake and Jake, get it all done in 6 1/2 hours. Solid guys, organized, they did a great job including clean-up and a walkthrough of work performed. THIS IS THE 'A-TEAM'. These people will take care of you. read more

Fantastic customer service. Ehlers came out to my senior citizen mother's house the same morning we called for service during a heat wave and fixed the problem the same day. Over the past decade, we've purchased two air conditioners, two furnaces, two humidifiers, and water heaters. Employees are always friendly and respectful, and the quality of service is top notch. Highly recommended. read more

I have had several homes and dealt with many contractors in my homes and my rental homes. Ehlers Heating & Air Conditioning just put a new furnace in my home and the two service technicians where very professional and worked without stop for a very long 11+ hour day to get the job total completed before ending their day. I would highly recommend this company to everyone I know. They did an excellent job and were very clean during and after the project making sure that they had gone over everything on the operation of the equipment and how to do the basic maintenance if I needed to clean the filters and what to look for if I suspected anything. read more

Absolutely the BEST service ever! My A/C dies yesterday (100 degree out). I called and had a man at my house within 15 minutes. A half hour later I was cooling again. Excellent! read more

Wow BEST PLACE EVER That about covers it. I was shocked when I read the other reviews.. My furnace just stopped working on thurs. I have the DTE home warranty called them and they said we will have someone call back. I did not pick who called DTE they did. We got this company they called and said they would be out next day. They were prompt and courteous. came in diagnosed issue and sent to the jackwads at DTE for approval. HERE is where it gets good. Samantha called me around 2 and said they could not get an answer for approval from the jackwads but if I let them know before the warehouse closed at 4 they would go get the needed parts come back and fix my furnace letting me pay with a check so they could tear it up if / when approval came through. Mind you it was 10 degrees out that night. If they had not called me to let em know time was running out and give me that option I would have had to take my family 4 of us to the hotel for the weekend. Anyway Tuesday the jackwads at GTE finally approved the job. Samantha called me right away to let me know they would be voiding my check. They were most likely very busy with the weather but took the time to give me options and also come back late to get my furnace working. If some one else has an idea of what better service looks like please by all means tell me cause I have never seen it. Great place Better people. read more

I am horrified by thier service or lack there of. Came out and charged me $206 for a diagnosis with nothing repaired. When I had to call and ask them if they were going to repair it they apologized and headed out 3 days late. When job was completed they charged me another $100 +. I was disgusted then but my experience got even worse. A week later my water heater was not working again they sent someone out and the tech found nothing wrong and left my business with no hot water (a hair salon) The tech said they would call on Monday and get the "parts". Another tech came out Monday with no parts and could find "nothing" wrong with it. He attempted to give me ANOTHER BILL for $176. I refused to pay and he called his employer and they told him to collect and my hot water heater wasn't working because" it's a salon and we use too much water" The last tech was so kind and understanding and I felt bad for him that he was told to charge me and if I didn't pay I would be put on a "Do not service list" Needless to say, we see may clients a week and I will inform them of this "companies" horrible and unethical work. Do not allow them near your home or business. read more

On 1-11-16 I met with a technician from Ehlers to give me a quote on a furnace repair for my son's home. I entrusted them to repair the furnace and it became a major failure. The furnace was not repaired at the tune of paying almost $500.00. Which generated more problems for me to numerous to list. And insult to injury the company populated my electronic signature to 3 different invoices showing 3 different repair costs. This company should be sighted for fraud in my opinion. read more

Honest company. This company deals with high end carrier products but still came out to look at my cheap 80% efficiency furnace. For years others were trying to sell me a heat exchanger over and over again (one company even tried to sell me the exact same furnace as an upgrade), Elhers technicians came in and gave me an honest opinion. They ran the necessary tests to ensure the furnace was safe and got us up and running even during the coldest days. After 10 years our no-name furnace finally gave out; I did not hesitate to call them for a new one. They sold me the right size furnace for our house, explored alternative options for our upstairs, answered all my questions, and even fixed an air duct that the original company didn't complete (the original company stopped the air duct just under the floor, so all the heat would escape before entering the room upstairs). I would recommend them. read more

I am horrified by their service or lack there of. First, at time of scheduling the appointment a promise was made that the service tech would arrive a day later, Saturday, between the hours of noon and 3:00 PM. On the day of appointment, at 3:00 PM no service tech and no call of delay. I had to call the office to find out what had happened to my scheduled service. As the office was closed, the answering service had to track down a service tech to call me back. The service tech Glenn called back informing he did not know why my scheduled appointment was bumped back. In the morning when he had his call line-up , I was number #2 and he was planning to arrive at noon as scheduled. However, someone in the office bumped my appointment back, squeezing a few in front of mine. I would like to point out that I purchased both my Carrier AC and Heating from this company ( thousands of dollars) when it was known as Erv Ehlers Company and have been a loyal repeat customer, awarding all my service to them. After the repair I Contacted the office to inquire and speak with responsible management. The person on the phone Sam promised the manager would call. I am still waiting week plus, no call. I decided to research how a company that has been in biz 50 yrs could provide such service and discovered the company is no longer Evr Ehlers Company, but know know as Ehlers. From my experience, I feel the new management has lost focus on their customers. read more
