I brought my everything bagel loving teen here for lunch a few weeks back and I forgot to leave a review about this experience. Walk in and 4 people are wondering aimlessly. The one at the first register looks at me weird like she was doing drive thru so I went to the next girl standing near a register and ask "Can I order here?" She's like "Yeah.... you can but orders are usually taken over there" points to other register that I passed. Oooooooook. Walk back to the other register and the woman standing there acted like I had inconvenienced her tremendously. I don't know if they were upset I wasn't wearing a mask but I didn't have one, I was doing yard work and on the way back from Home Depot stopped in for a quick lunch. Not that I'm required to explain myself, but people seem to take not following non-existent rules and implied recommendations is a license to treat customers poorly. So, order from Mrs. Attitude and she says pay over there.. AT. THE. OTHER. REGISTER. !!!!! Today my daughter and I went intending to do this, and I was told by a very unfriendly employee "we can't toast your bagel - if it's part of the dozen". What????? I've done this for years! Employee responded, "it's corporate policy, you wanna talk to a manager?". I said, "no, I have a toaster at home, I guess I'll go home and have bagels and coffee". I don't know how many times I've wasted my time going there. No one is ever friendly. They don't even try to suggest something else when they don't have what I ordered. They just look at you. I finally just asked for a refund. I told the cashier that I can never come in there and get what I order without either waiting an excessive amount of time or them not having what I ordered. She didn't care. I said this is probably the last chance I'm giving this place. She said ok, that's fine, all snarky. Clearly, there is zero customer service at this location and management is piss poor. I also used to deliver food as a side gig and the wait for the customer's food there is out of control. There's usually 4-5 deliver people sitting around waiting for 15+ minutes on orders that should have been ready before the driver even arrived. We have been regulars here. I stop on my way home from work and my husband stops on his way to work a couple times a week. The last two times he stopped for a prepared bagel it was prepared wrong. I actually work a few stores down of this place and I can always say I get exceptional service here. I usually place an order over the app because I go on my work breaks and they've never failed me. Clarisse ( I hope I didn't get it wrong) is such a sweetheart, she always helps me customize my drink even after I go pick it up just because the app doesn't allow you to customize beverages which I believe is something that needs to be implemented ASAP! When you think of Einstein's you think of bagels, right. Well, I went and ordered a Turkey reuben. So it wasn't a smart move. After circling the parking lot three times, I finally found a space. Only two people in front of me at the Ordering area, so the wait is short. It seems everyone was ordering a breakfast sandwich or the bagel dog. It's my turn to order and, off the order taker goes. So the person taking your order is also the one who gets your food then goes to the register and checks you out. So I wait for the next available person. I order my turkey reuben (It comes with a side of either potato salad, cole slaw or chips.) and a chocolate Chip coffee cake. She bags my coffee cake and rings me up. I get my drink and sit at a table to wait. It took only four minutes and my sandwich is brought to me. I taste the potato salad first. The flavor was okay but the texture was more like mashed potaoes than chucks. I open the wrappings on the sandwich. It looks sad. There was a decent amount of turkey and the cheese was nicely melted. I take my first bite. You can detect the kraut and Russian dressing but it doesn't overpower. But the downfall is the bread, not crusty it was mushy and not that brown. The coffee cake is another story. You can tell from the texture of the cake that they did not over mix the batter. Good chocolate and cinnomon flavers and moist cake. Seriously good. If I rate them based on this visit alone, the stars would be lower. Since I come here often for their bagels which are good, I can't bring them down. I will be coming back to Einstein's but I won't ever order a NON breakfast food again. read more
