Convenient on the corner of orchard Lake and 12 mile. Looking in the plaza with independent parking. We got the dollar for breakfast, which is a large coffee and a bagel sandwich. We didn't do any of the upgrades to keep it at that price to see what that would look like. It was all right I think the combination of the bagel sandwich and coffee is probably better at other places, but it was worth a try. The service was fine not very friendly. Didn't say a whole lot. The ambience is pretty straightforward. Some of the other customers were normal and some felt a little bit sketchy. read more

I always order the everything bagel and the recently the whole wheat bagel. Next favorite is the asiago and then the sesame seed. least favorite is the blueberry or the raisin bagel ;-) I have notice that there a new faces in the team and probably a new manager. the store looks clean and well stocked. a few months ago, especially during Mondays, I was able to buy the $9 baker's dozen bagels and add a few dollars for 2 cream cheese shmear. As of August 2024, a dozen bagels is about $13 or more when you pick up their specialty bagels such as Cheddar Jalapeño, Green Chile, Apple Cinnamon, Cheesy Hash Brown, Avocado Toast and the newest gourmet bagel is the Maple French Toast. My favorite flavors for their shmear are the onion and chive and honey almond. my least favorites are the garden veggie, jalapeño salsa and strawberry shmear. The serve by dates in the cooler is up to date and my favorite plain double whipped is well stocked. Came on a Monday morning about 10 am and not so crowded. Opened my EB app so the cashier could scan my rewards account. I earned a free coffee for a month but will start the following month. By the way, their hot or cold coffee are the best! Highly recommend the caramel cold brew shake. If allergic to coffee..you may order the strawberry banana smothie. the store opens until lunch and serve bagel sandwiches, muffins, cookies and even hashbrown (muffin shaped). cold milk, orange juice, water and coke products are also available. lots of bagel flavors to choose from, price reasonable and fast service. free parking. location next to Starbucks Drive Through along orchard lake and Jewish Center. read more

I got the Jalapeño Bacon Bagel Toasted with Smoked Salmon Smear and a large dark roast coffee with a splash of vanilla creamer. The bagel was soooo tasty. Very good price as well. I wish I had gotten it double toasted though. Love the smear as well. Delicious. The coffee was sub-par. They serve caribou coffee and I've had it better before. I wouldn't go searching for this coffee. The prices weren't bad either! My total came to around $6.50. I would say that it pretty fair. This location was very clean and quite busy when we were there around 9am on a Saturday morning. I did not feel like we were waiting long anyways. read more

Its my go to place for bagels. The staff is really nice. Ambience is decent. I gave only 3 stars because of the tables not being clean. People dont pick their stuff after they eat. The staff doesnt clean that and you have to pick up somebody's else's leftover food and stale coffee on the tables. read more

I just stoped by needing a quit bite to eat and ordered a basic sandwich but when I bit into it I was expecting a old hard bagel with day old ingredients but instead got a fresh bagel with fresh ingredients well made. Haven't been to an Einstein Bagel in probably about 10 years - not joking. I went quite a bit as a teenager, but once I was introduced to Dunkin & Tim Hortons, I was converted. Tim Hortons coffee is like crack...and I became a junkie for it! I've since been able to kick that habit, and have coffee at home more often than going out for it. Anyways - I came across a free Thintastic & schmear coupon this week, valid for today (01/15/14). I stopped in today for my freebie & O...M...G! They asked what kind of cream cheese I wanted, and I was directed down to a menu of delicious varieties. Honey Almond cream cheese. Say no more! I wasn't planning on getting anything else, but decided to order a coffee to try them out. $2.11 for a medium coffee. A little more than Tim Hortons $1.59 medium coffee, but you also can't get Vanilla Hazelnut coffee at Tim Hortons either. It was awesome! That free coupon spawned a dangerous discovery for me today. I intended to take more pictures... a few days ago was my second? Or third time here.. Ive only had a bagel & cream cheese. This time I had a sandwich. It was pretty good. It sadly got eaten before I got a photo. The menu seems a little overwhelming. There are alot of choices. Im glad I was able to navigate and find something quickly. I almost wish I would have skipped ordering a coffee because this would have just been a regular 4 star good experience. The iced coffee however I don't know where to start with.. I asked for a vanilla cold brew coffee. What I sipped was syrupy sugary and somehow bitter? I don't really know how to describe the flavour.. possibly bourbon?? Chemicals?? I went back inside immediately & the guy remade it for me.. this time less pumps of vanilla.. I watched him remake it..ice cold brew and two pumps of syrup..still tasted awful. I got to work and really couldn't get over the taste but LOOK WHATS INSIDE!! What is this...? Its not quite coffee grinds... i poured the drink out and its gummy and goopy.. maybe its best my phone was dead otherwise i would have taken a photo of the goop.. maybe it was the vanilla?? The syrup must be odd? Idk why it sat in the bottom of the cup and never dissolved.. Yuck! I dont know if I should rate 2 or 3 stars.. bt i really do like the bagels! So many flavours and lots of cream cheese choices and even sandwiches its almost like beurgers bagels!! Mmm!! But no more coffee thats for sure! Maybe they should just stick to their specialty!! I was on a bagel kick. I tried several places and Einstein Bagels are the best. The had a plain and pretzel bagels, both toasted with butter. The pretzel bagel was too salty, i will not order it again. It was really tasty and the texture was that of a fresh warm pretzel which was perfect. I tried the scrape some of the salt off but had no luck. The pretzel bagel was $2.40ish and the plain was $1.99. I will be back, hope the staff will have had a cup of coffee. The energy was a little low and half asleep like. So it will speed up the morning visit, I'd like to get to work on time. read more

Stopped in to get a bakers dozen yesterday to put in the freezer. Ordered 6 cinnamon raisin and 7 Asiago Cheese. Got home later and opened the box and no Asiago and 7 plain in their place. Today I drove back (10 miles each way) to get a replacement. I asked the girl for my trouble that I get 2 tubs of cream cheese. She sent out the manager. manager refused. I love this place. They serve excellent bagels and drinks. Their coffee is hot, and very delicious. Einstein has many different bagel types that are all good. The atmosphere of the dining area feels very cozy. There are several electrical outlets in the dining area and you can usually find a spot. There are lots of different ways you can get your bagel prepared. You can have it toasted, buttered, sliced, and much more. The workers there are very friendly and will always remake your bagel if needed. Overall, this places is amazing! I go here all the time! Some of the other things Einstein offers is that there is free WiFi. The WiFi is very slow, however, and my iPad Air struggles to load most websites. Apps usually work well, however. Einstein also caters. You can also get a "Box Of Bagels" to take to an office party, for example. If you have never been here, you should really check it out! read more

Einstein has become my breakfast stop on most Saturdays prior to work. I like to think that since I'm working on Saturdays I deserve to start my day with a little something. What I always find amazing is that every time I'm in line, I'm following a senior ordering a Power Bagel, typically toasted and dry. For all the years I have been a patron of Einstein I have no idea what the secret behind the Power Bagel is? I wonder what gives them their strength? Or maybe it's just these geriatrics think they will have more power after? I just want to eat them after a He-Man like exclamation, "By the Power of Einstein! . . . " More frequently than not I order an Asiago bagel toasted with Garden Veggie schmear. Sometimes I do give in to the Everything, but they have too much fennel and not enough salt, it's weird. They do offer fancy omelet-y sandwiches which are microwaved to order but I always find them to leave the bagel kind of soggy--still delicious, but soggy. I usually grab a coffee too if I know I'm the only at work who drinks it, because, yes, I can be that lazy when Saturday morning comes so quickly after a late Friday night. Einstein fell into the winning slot for my breakfast options after Bruegger's moved from 13 to 14 Mile Road, making them just beyond where I work, and therefore too far to go when time is of the essence. I will say the staff is always very friendly despite the early hours, and they can get people in and out of the restaurant quickly--even when waiting for Power Bagels to toast only to be enjoyed of Sudoku and complaining about the weather/politics/health. I will give Einstein a point too for their pumpkin bagels and pumpkin schmear in the Fall, but I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin. I have also on occasion stopped and bought a "Bagel Bucket" which constitutes of a lucky baker's dozen of bagels and two tubs of schmear for like $13.00 (maybe $14.00?). Either way, it's no that much more when you consider spending $6.00 on breakfast for one--sometimes it's nice to start a workday with bagels for all! At the holidays I think they even gave me a $5.00 gift card for buying a bucket. Let it be known that despite the name, the "bucket" may appear in bags. Alas, what can you do? Someday I will have to stop in for lunch, they do offer salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and soup as well as a full coffee bar, though Starbucks is right next door. Einstein's is a fine place for a quick breakfast on Orchard Lake Road. I will probably continue to stop in because it's convenient and it's kind of hard to mess up a bagel and cream cheese. read more

An Einstein is an Einstein...you know what you're getting when you walk through the door. I wanted a bagel, free wifi, and a place to kill a half hour. I got here just before the lunch rush so there was no waiting. My asiago bagel w plain cream cheese was tasty. The wifi was strong. But there is nothing comfortable about the big dining area of tables, I felt like everything I was doing was on display. Soon, the lunch rush came in and the place got very crowded and full of kids. Very loud as well. Difficult to hold a conversation, let alone focus. Einstein is a good place to grab a bagel/coffee/sandwich if you're going to run in and run out. But not the best place to stick around at long after you've eaten. read more

I want to start off by saying that I'm a frequent customer at Einstein Bagels in Royal Oak on Woodward. This Einstein's runs a totally different operation, and clearly by the 1 star rating, it's not in a good way. NORMALLY, I would place my order while the person enters into the computer what I want. Then, the "assembly line" would make my food. Then I go to the cash register and pay for said meal. THIS experience was much different. And I've been to this specific Einstein's before, but I've never had as terrible an experience as today. Today, my fiance and I went in and wanted to order 2 simple things. The Sausage, Egg and Cheddar breakfast sandwich with egg WHITE. Simple right? Well, the lady at the counter gets half of my fiance's order... instantly throws the egg in the microwave (not listening to his order) and says ok, you may step down to the other register and pay... When I say "We're together" and I say I want the same thing. And my fiance repeats, she ALSO wants egg whites. To which the lady nodded. So we obviously figured she heard. Unfortunately, she did not. So this order was all taken by her, not put into the computer. Then, we walk to the register. The lady at the register was so damn annoying in her voice-- shes yelling at another customer that she got a coffee cup out for him and he didn't take it. So that's just a side rant-- When we were talking to the cashier, we had to repeat the order. We even told them we had egg whites. So we were charged for them. Get to my store to eat the breakfast. I stopped in to grab some bagels for work on a Sunday morning. Staff was friendly enough, I just asked for two dozen mixed bagels that included some salt bagels and french toast bagels. I love their salt bagels and honey almond smear. The cashier recommended four selections of cream cheese, which I was working on but they have a huge selection and I was reading all of the options. I've never been a fan of bagels until my girlfriend got me some one morning and now im a believer! I love the blueberry bagels with a side of turkey chili. I'll stop by to get some every chance i get even if i was running late in the morning. i also love the breakfast wraps and egg paninis if im looking for something different esp during lunch time. It totally made my mouth water for an Einstein bagel. I started to think about the Asiago Cheese bagel and a SCHMEAR.....I had to have one. Wait, no Einsteins around the plant. OK...get one on the way home. I can't, I left work too late. OK, by now I was going crazy, I had to have one. The next morning I left a little late 5:30am just to get a bagel. I did get one, Asiago Cheese with a schmear of plain cream cheese toasted. Oh so good. The coffee is pretty good as well. In fact I prefer it over the Starbuck's next door. This location is always welcoming you with a smile and a "good morning". I even pay for a week full of refills and bring my cup in the morning and get the $1 refill every day. Einstein Bagels are predictable and reliable. BUT it's the staff at this location that make the difference. I love these women. They remember me and what I like. New to Einstein Bagels. Yesterday just had a salt bagel with shmeared onion and chive across it and some Black Ice Tea. Yummy was in and out at 7am in a flash. Walked in today at 7:15am and was behind about a half dozen young girls ordering insane variations of egg sandwiches adding this and substituting that and almost ducked out of the line it took so long to get just a quick bagel sandwich early for lunch. (Took a good 20 minutes to get my order). I ordered a turkey and cheddar signature lunch. Well, to be nice, would not order that again. It had turkey, cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion on it on a potato roll. Was supposed to have mustard and mayo on it but it did not and it looked like someone had used a knife with some sort of other shmear on it when they cut it - only partially through it. Their Black Ice Tea is the bomb though but I will not be hurrying back to spend $7 or 8 bucks on lunch here again. read more

I was craving an Asiago bagel and upon entering was told that they were closed and they were done selling bagels for the day. Mind you, the door was unlocked, open sign on, and bagels in the racks. Normally, I don't write reviews but this one was the straw that broke my back. Today, Sunday, 01/21/2018, just left not long ago. I called to reserve two power bagels. I was advised business close at 3pm - I arrived at 2:40. The kitchen area was being wiped down and two employees = cashier and order-taker were on site. The order-taker had a bad attitude or at least her expression and body language did. I requested bagels be toasted twice. Did she do that?? No. I asked for "light butter", did she do that! NO. Upon removing bagel from toaster oven, I had to remind her to toast twice (she didn't like that). When she began to butter the bagel, I had to stop her and say "that's fine" because she was really slathering it on. When she packaged it, and passed it to me she didn't look at me or at least say thank you. It was like passing the patan to the next runner. In the car, I notice the slathered butter had soaked the bottom of the bag - wtf! Is this a twice repeated request for lightly butter. My appetite was sickened and got worse when I opened my bag to 3 parts bagel...where's the fourth??????? I'll continue to go to Einstein's in Novi. Your food experience begins with "customer service". Eating the bagels...not enjoyable...but I had spent my money. read more

I have never been to an Einstein Bagel before. I ordered some sort of "sandwich" for breakfast. I did not like it. First of all..it was not a real egg in the "egg sandwich" and it tasted like rubber. The "cheese" was like cardboard. The bacon was soggy and cold. When I asked the staff if I could have a real egg..like the kind most people want that comes out of a carton they were rude and responded.."we don't have eggs." "We have always had this kind of egg." I told them the "egg" tasted like rubber and had the same consistancy. They did not offer my money back and were rude and dismissive. This place is expensive and the food was not to my liking. I would never eat "their egg" whatever that is again. Glad there is no EB near where I live. Save your money..go to a fast food or sit down restaurant and you may have the option for real reconizable eggs out of a carton. read more

This particular Einstein Bros Bagels location is not as great as others I have been to. I stopped in today at 8AM and they had already run out of several bagels varieties, including my favorite, cinnamon sugar! There were only a few left to choose from, so I opted for a French toast bagel with was amazing! It actually tasted like French toast. I was super impressed. I also ordered a large white chocolate mocha. However, it took forever for me to be waited on. There were several people behind me waiting to be acknowledged as well. I stood by the "order here" register for a good 5-6 minutes before somebody finally came over to me & asked what I would like. There were only two people behind the counter, so I tried to be patient, as I'm sure it is hard to take orders, prepare orders, and work two registers with only two employees, but nobody was even looking at me or acknowledging I was there the entire time I waited! The entire process of getting my bagel and coffee took like 15 minutes, which is quite a long time compared to other Einstein Bros Bagels, or any bagel/coffee place is general. I went from being early to work, to being borderline late. This location is in need of some better customer service, morning preparation (bagel-wise), and apparently more morning staff! My bagel and coffee was good, but the location is lacking much to be desired. read more
