To be honest, we had all but given up on Einstein's after our repeated issues with food quality, bad service and burnt coffee, but they lured us back with a free birthday deal to give it one more try. We decided to avoid the one 5 minutes from our house and go to one on the other end of town, in hopes we'd finally have a good experience. Well, they didn't disappoint! The two ladies working were friendly, capable and quick in taking our order and serving up our sandwiches and lattes! The food was made nicely, tasty and the coffees were delicious. They did forget our 'schmear' with our to go, but we'll swing by and grab it. Even the interior look of this location is better than our local store, with nice seating areas and a fairly clean dining room. We'll be back! read more

Don't know why this location only has 2 stars, but they're really not bad. I've gone here a few times now & I must say that everything has been consistent, and that's what you want to see in a restaurant. Are they NY bagels, no, but they're not that bad & even better on one of their egg sandwiches! I've been eating their Brisket sandwich & I really like it! The brisket is always very tender & juicy, so no complaints there! I went there yesterday morning (Sunday) & they were timely, friendly & 100% correct on my order. Now I think there's a new manager at the Einstein Bagel store at University and Colorado Blvd. How do I know? Well for the first time in years they're making Pumpernickel Bagels! And they are good ones too! I've given them bad reviews in the past because they wouldn't make Pumpernickel Bagels. Because of that I've had to drive to a different bagel shop. Pumpernickel Bagels are that important to me. I really don't much care for all the rest. I also started boiling and baking my own. But now, once again Einstein Bagels is a bagel store, and I am grateful. I was told that the store at Highlands Ranch Parkway and Broadway is also serving Pumpernickel Bagels and that they have the same manager. Received a bag with the receipt clipped to the front showing: Breakfast sandwich, hash brown, 2 churro bagels, 1/2 dozen baker's box (including variety of flavors). Received: sandwich that wasn't the one we ordered, hash brown (good job guys!), FIVE bagels of the SAME flavor and 2 cookies (huh?). So I called to very nicely explain to the manager what happened. Got a bunch of excuses and was told "well we ran out of churro bagels at 11 AM.." okay... and I am supposed to know that how? No apology. Tells me to contact doordash. I don't know why I kept giving this place a chance, but today was the last time. I don't think they've ever gotten my bagel order right, and today they decided to serve me a raw bagel. The dough was raw inside. I went back in for a refund, and they completely ignored me, then the "manager" gave me major attitude and was so rude when I asked once again for a refund after standing there for over 20 minutes. This place is ridiculous. She made it a hundred times worse when she walked up with the worst attitude I've ever seen. Been coming here for at least 20yrs. When the pandemic hit, booths and tables were removed. A new, "hip", management group came in at their Lakewood HQ, and decided not to bring them back. However, the procedure for walking in, placing an order, having the order fulfilled, and checking out are convoluted and confusing for the customer experience. As a result, it's not clear where to stand, who to talk to, how to integrate the Einstein app ordering and payment process, and how to ensure your order is fulfilled accurately. in addition, I have had numerous instances of my orders being wrong or not being complete. By the way, this ongoing experience is consistent with multiple Einstein stores in the area, so this is a corporate issue. There are several Einstein Bagels near us but I've always liked the one on Colorado and University. I went in today to get my Monday bagels and I was definitely not happy with what I came home with. I opened the box when I got home and I could smell the burnt odor over the usually strong smell of the everything bagels. What makes me the most disappointed is that they knew the bagels were very over baked, but gave them to me anyway. I could probably just take them back and they'd give me new ones but I'm just going to throw them out and find a new location to buy my bagels. I write this in hopes the manager makes some changes. 1). The place is really dirty. When you are sitting down, you can see under the cream cheese self serve display. You can see standing water, cups that have been there for days and lint 2). While sitting, I watched some lint fall from the air vent into the toaster oven located behind the order register. 3). The breakfast sandwich was served with cold cheese. I will have to say they were nice to heat it up. I'm a bagel junkie, and this place leaves something to be desired. Not the company - this specific location. The staff is mostly useless, and contribute to slow waits for no discernible reason. You need to repeat everything 3 times and more often than not the order is incorrect. They don't exactly jump to correct mistakes. The process for ordering and checking out is never the same. One day it'll be the left cash register, the next the right. Someday you order on the left and pay on the right. Who knows? Food is good enough, it's a chain restaurant. At a minimum it has to be consistent across the restaurants or they'd be out of business. If it wasn't the only bagel place close to home I wouldn't come here. read more

I have not been here in about a year and boy has the food gone downhill. I ordered an egg sandwich with bacon and cheese, which was my typical order when I visit. It arrived COLD and with finger dents in the bagel from what I assume is from cutting it in half. When I told the staff that my sandwich was cold they said that's how it's supposed to be. Obviously the eggs are pre-cooked and refrigerated. Gross. I've never had a cold egg breakfast sandwich nor one with finger dents. Ever. Anywhere. It's always been warm the previous visits and un-manhandled. I'm definitely not going back and will find a breakfast place that will serve warm egg sandwiches without the need to dig fingers in the bagels.
