I'm really not sure why their rating is so low! I love their breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and of course their bagels. I feel like the workers there are super friendly! During busy hours, there might be a little wait, but they all work fast and hard. I'd recommend coming in earlier whenever you want their Monday dozen bagel deal because I think that's when they have the most selection. The store looks run down and empty. Tables and carpet are dirty. No one is sitting there to eat. No customers other than the 10 people waiting forever on line to order. Looks like it mostly a mobile order place now as no effort is made to make the inside look like you would want to eat here. There were 3 people preparing food and one taking orders and getting items such as loose bagels for customers. Management of this store is very poor. The bagel sandwich wrapping was terrible. When I got my order the bag was dirty with cream cheese and other counter items were stuck to the outside of the bag. I had to clean my hands. The "hot" breakfast sandwiches inside were lopsided and the paper wrapping had cream cheese over them. The sandwiches were lukewarm at best. I also ordered a lox bagel. For $10.49 the lox sandwich was not at all satisfying, onions capers and cream cheese were all over the paper wrapping and the other items were just falling out of the bagel because it wasn't placed properly. Gone is the box they used to use and now it's just the gross paper wrapping, which would have been fine had the wrapping been done properly and not dirty with cream cheese everywhere. Poor wrapping, poor food, poor presentation. We spent over $30 on bagel sandwiches and honestly we all felt a little grossed out after eating it. Never again. Picked the kid up from a sleepover and she was hungry so we stopped me to see what we could see got breakfast. We opted to split an Applewood Bacon and Egg Sandwich on a plain bagel, toasted of course.... no complaints, everything was tasty. Egg was cooked well done, bacon was crispy and the plain was good as a plain bagel can be. Next time I may switch it up a bit and get either a French Toast bagel or a Cinnamon Sugar. I love this place. I get the "Nova Lox" bagel (cream cheese, salmon, capers and onion) and it's yummy (PS I'm from NYC). The hash browns are off the hook! It has a relaxing environment, sometimes they're a businessman in here and right now there's a table up to where the guy has such a great laugh. The music is medium to low, there is plenary of seating and the staff is wonderful and friendly. I don't know if this matters to the reader (you) but there is a bulletin board up where I presume you can post information. Will try to post a pic. Obviously, I am not expecting to find good bagels in Springfield, or even at this bagel chain. But the bagels are not horrendous - not too big, good variety of flavors, though most are too salty for me. The lattes are way too bitter. And I needed somewhere that I could get a bagel with lox, with a mocha latte. My issue is with the staff. For the life of them, they cannot figure out my order, which I think is pretty simple. "Toasted bagel with a little bit of butter and lox." This usually requires repeating a couple of times. Definitely one of my favourite breakfast/brunch places. This place is perfect for some light, fresh breakfast/lunch bagels. Their bagels are fresh and they run out pretty quickly. They have a wide variety of bagels: multigrain, regular, garlic, sesame, cheeses, and a lot more. I love salmon, so my first choice was the NOVA Lox N Bagel and I absolutely loved it. It comes with cream cheese, capers, tomato slices, and onions (I had mine without the onion slices). All ingredients were fresh. They're also generous with the salmon portion. Absolutely this one! I also paired it with some of the organic, boxed apple juice they have in the fridge and it was a perfect combination for me. I also tried their cinnamon pretzel bites and they were soft, sweet, and very good to have. Especially in winter when you need some coffee and any baked goodies with cinnamon. They're packed in a cute box and I had them to-go and ate them on my way home. Was a nice way to end my brunch. read more
