i have had many experiences here and by GODS mercy and GRACE i was given another chance to straighten out my life through Einsteins . i am reading the comments and i am truly dumb founded considering very rare staff had these attitudes, and we served for a WOW experience. Everyone has bad days , the manager NEVER allows anyone on the phone and customers are his first priority, so the phone comment really disturbs me he is very strict and always looking to better things for the customer and staff. i hope and pray the negative experiences go back and give them another shot ! I used to go here all the time, not because I liked the food so much, but because it was the only place to stop between work and the Pike other then Dunks. Bagels tasted OK, but are on the smallish side. Staff here was always friendly and efficient. read more

I have been DYING to try out Einstein Bros! I have heard it was so good, and even with all of these reviews that "down" the bagel cafe, I wanted to try it anyway (sometimes other Yelp reviews are biased....). Anyway, I was going out to the Rt. 20 area on Feb. 6, so I thought I'd stop by (as I would drive right past it!). I signed up for their rewards program online prior to the visit and got a coupon for a free bagel and shmear (?), so that was a nice surprise and making my visit more worth the while. Anyway, so pulled up to the plaza on Feb. 6, and there were NO cars in the plaza. Really? There is a fitness place, pet store, and a Starbucks along with this bagel spot, and no one! Not even employees? It was bizarre. To my surprise, it looked closed inside (and online it said they were open, and what bagel spot ISN'T open on a Saturday morning?). Walked over to Starbucks and read the signs all over the door "Power is out. Will be back open soon". Ugh. Really. Was dying to visit Einstein and never actually got to due to power outage! (So why was the traffic light at the busy intersection outside of this place working then? In past outages, even those have been off!). I still want to try Einstein and plan to come back soon, but on Saturday they lost some business as I was forced (somewhat) to go to Dunkin Donuts up the road. UPDATE : Feb 20, 2016 : Was able to visit Einstein Bros on Feb 18, while power was on. Still 3 stars though. Staff quite rude, and not friendly what-so-ever. They had an issue scanning my mobile coupon and was telling me it was my screen protectors fault (it worked at the art store after!). Too bad, bagels were delicious and interior is clean. I'll only return if it was one of the only stops.... they need to get some new staff.... fast! read more

Einstein Bros is my #1 favorite bagel spot, and this location is 100% my favorite one to visit. I used to live down the street...I now live out of state...but every time I'm home to visit family, this is the place I HAVE TO visit. Yes, the parking isn't the best..yes, sometimes there's a line.... But in my experience..the customer service here is always great, their bagels are always delicious & cooked correctly, they're always stocked with all of their schmear flavors and the coffee is always delicious & hot...all around, they are consistently great! read more

Best Einsteins I've ever been too. The staff work hard and make excellent bagels. My personal favorite is an egg with plain cream cheese and a plain with plain cream cheese. If you can get then right when they come out of the oven you're in for a treat. The bagel melts the cream cheese into a delicious mixture. A plain with butter is also an excellent choice. Very light and tasty. The Einsteins neighborhood blend is also a good pick if you like your coffee on the lighter side. Only drawback is that it's on the pricier side for Boston area bagel shops. Still would recommend it wholeheartedly. Good pick before jumping on the mass pike in the morning. read more

They customer service isn't great. They are never friendly and I come here 2-3 times a week. They never smile. Today the woman practically threw the bagel at me. My biggest gripe which I've never complained about but I've had enough. Every day the price of a blt bagel changes. They obviously don't have a straight standard training for all the employees. Today I got charged twice for tomatoes .?! One day my blt bagel is 3.25 and today it was 4.12? for a bagel lettuce tomato and some bacon... please get your shit together. It's just annoying. Train your employees to ring the item in properly. For goodness sake smile no ones forcing you to work there. read more

The other day I visited this location in the late morning, place was very quiet. After perusing the deli menu board, I stepped forward to the register to order. The girl seemed rather annoyed that I was even there, evidently I'd interrupted her chat time with a co-worker standing near her. Upon hearing my order for a medium berry smoothie, she told me forcefully that I must order that at NEXT register (mind you, the place was empty), and proceeded to totally ignore me when I did as she asked. Despite the fact she was the only employee present, she clearly had no intention of helping me. I stood there waiting for over two minutes, at which point I decided to just walk out. I telecommute using my laptop, so I often am scoping out good places to hunker down and get some work done. This is one of the better choices in the area. Starbucks can get too crowded, they don't have too many food options, and no free refills. Panera's wifi can be spotty and they limit your time online during midday and some of their food is gross. Breugger's doesn't have free refills and I think their cream cheese has an awful consistency. With some of the small locally-owned places, I feel sort of bad sitting taking up space while I just sip a drink and work. Anyway, I like this Einstein's. The bagel thins are good. Everything seems a little cheaper than Bruegger's. Better cream cheese, too. FREE REFILLS! Plenty of space. I've never dealt with surly staff so far. The bagels aren't great. I mean, if I want a real authentic NY-tasting bagel I'll be at Rosenfeld's in Newton. But they're pretty good for a chain. Totally edible and tasty once toasted. Good place to get some work done and grab a little lunch. read more

Quite possibly one of the worst bagels I have ever tasted. Texture was strange and much more airy (less dense/chewy) than most other bagels I've eaten. Worst customer service ever. Literally having my order taken for a dozen bagels (no one in front of me) and about to ask for the remaining half dozen to be cinnamon raisin bagels (of which there were at least ten, and again NO ONE is in front of me), but the "general manager" swoops in and takes ALL of them and won't give me any!Um hello? I'm in the middle of my order and no one was before me. Super rude and apparently he was taking them for someone "who called in". Ok. Left me with literally nothing but crap to pick from, and mind you it's only like 8:30 am. Terrible service and rude rude rude. I am not a geographical bagel snob. I have had NYC bagels and they are great but I also like bagels I find elsewhere. I happen to like the texture and flavor and crust of Einsteins bagels. The stores however lack any character. The are generic and corporate much like a dunkin donuts. Come in for a good bagel and an anonymous experience. read more

I really like going there and getting bagles. The bagles are fresh and include creative kinds like Spinach Florentine and Jalapeno. I am not sure why some people are giving this place poor reviews. Personally I am not expecting decor; I am expecting bagles and decent service. The manager and staff have provided both so I have nothing to compl;ain about. Good bagels. Particularl like the new bagelthins, which are like having the best parts of the bagels, the crusty top and bottom without the doughy middle. Agree with other commenters that staff varies quite a bit on service quality and friendliness. Drinks are fine. It's a better option now that the Wayland Finagle has closed. read more

I'm a huge fan of the Einstein's chain, and this location by far has become my favorite! I had one of the most friendly girls take my order and I never saw anyone work so fast while maintaining a genuine conversation with a big smile on their face. This bagel shop is next to a Starbucks, and I wanted to order a bagel at Starbucks and the Starbucks doesn't carry bagels as some sort of courtesy to the fact that there is a bagel shop next door... kudos to Starbucks for coming in corporate but respecting the little guys... so I got my latte and my coworkers tea at Starbucks and now I need to proceed next door to get a bagel. First, they just spread the cream cheese on one half of the bagel and then just slap the other half on top... in which I asked them to please put cream cheese on both parts of my bagel... so now I have to go to the next area to pay. There is a line to pay because the computers are down... in which I say "I have cash" after everyone looked confused why I suggested to pay cash, the employees scrambled around and started writing down sales and proceeded to take cash... my 3 minute coffee run turned into a 10 minute process because I had to go to 2 places... I'm not sure if I'm more irritated that the Starbucks doesn't have bagels or if I'm more irritated that I just paid $3.05 for a bagel that really was mediocre at best. The bagel was a little chewy and possibly may have been baked too long. read more

I've been there twice. I've tried the seasame bagel and the good grains bagel, and I thought they were both delicious. I'm not from the area, but I wish there was a Einstein Bros near me. Their blackberry lemonade was really good also. The only downfall was the staff. Both times that I've went, there's been a young girl behind the counter that was extremely unfriendly and seemed really unhappy to be there. She rolled her eyes at me when I gave her my order (which was just a good grains bagel, toasted, with butter on the side). As I was paying, she angrily shoved the bagel into my boyfriend's hands. The cashier was inconsistent. Both times we went, my boyfriend ordered the same thing: a pepperoni pizza bagel. The first time, the cashier just said okay and rang up him. But, the second time, the cashier (same guy as before) said it came with either salad or chips. So, I'm not sure if the first time we were there we weren't offered the side that we paid for, or if the cashier upcharged us for a meal the second time without us asking for one. Half the times that i go here they are out of cinnamom raisin bagels. If you keep running out of them why don't you make more! This bagel shop utterly sucks. I bought a cup of coffee and a turkey sandwich for a take out, but the pitcher for creamer at the counter was empty and I had to wait some time, Worser off, after arriving at home being quietly settled to devour the sandwich, the meat was MISSING!! Have you ever had a sandwich with its meat missing? I could understand tomato or lettuce is missing, but I had never had its meat missing. This is well in the league of the incidents at Dan Gellio in Westboro where a metal pin was found before taking a bite. So I wrapped the sandwich and drove all the way back to the Bagel shop to get the meat; the supervisor dabbed in turkey slices in the same sandwich and gave it back to me w/o apologizing.. This bagel shop is deplorable. I bet this shop would surely have made Einstein's socks off with medocrity and lousy services. I would like to give this place negative 5 stars if it was feasible. Today is my third time to purchase bagels at Einstein Bros. The cashier asked me which side I would like to order. I was shocked since no one has asked me before. I politely inform him I didn't know that the bagel comes with a side because no one has asked me before. He pointed to the menu and said "customers know because they read the menu. You should read the menu." I told him he shouldn't make an assumption and i chose to give him the feedback in person rather than writing a negative review. He didn't appreciate it and said he is not a slave to work there. He also claimed he is the manager there. What an ignorant manager! I'm truly disappointed that this company picked the wrong person to be ambassador of their brand. i personally love the potato bagels - they're slightly sweet and oh-so-soft and chewy. the everything bagel is also pretty awesome just plain with butter. but the real deal at this place is the chocolate mudslide cookie. if you're lucky enough to catch them fresh out of the oven, get some. its some damned good cookie - its outer layer is crunchy and crisp, but the inside is what makes this cookie food of the gods - its practically liquid inside. you could LICK the insides out of the cookie - thats how awesome it is. no, seriously, you have to have this cookie. read more

I went here for the first time on Sunday the 14th and the woman behind the counter was clearly overwhelmed by my order of two egg sandwiches, 2 muffuns, 2 pastries, a struedel, and 6 bagels because she managed to completely forget the muffins. I didn't catch it until I got home and was not going to turn around to go back. She was not very personable and I wondered what would happen if they were actually busy!
