I stopped by here this past Wednesday by myself for my morning coffee. I happened to be traveling for work and whenever I looked for a coffee shop on Yelp, Cafe Nero was the closest one and so I headed on over. It's located in Wellesley right at a T stop which I imagine is both good for Cafe Nero as well as good for riders who enjoy good coffee. In any case, the inside consists of a place to order your food, with displays for pastries and other goodies, and then a seating area behind that. I felt somewhat rushed here while ordering (maybe good for riders but not good for me on this morning) and ended up choosing a latte before adding on an almond croissant right before paying. My drink and pastry were ready quickly and I was on my way headed back to my office. I first tried the almond croissant which I thought was good. It was buttery and flaky with a nice almond flavor as you would expect. After that I tried the coffee which I also thought was good. It was deep and rich next to the milk and with a nice ratio, I could easily taste both. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I enjoyed both my coffee and croissant from here and just wish that I hadn't felt as rushed. read more

I am a sucker for Nero from when I got hooked on their coffee when I used to travel a lot to the UK. So happy to see them thrive in Boston. I like this location a lot, tucked into an old (but still active) train station. It is very cozy in here and you almost wouldn't know it is a big European chain. I got a double espresso and it was excellent. Although I did not get it on this trip, their chocolate cake is amazing. It was a busy weekday afternoon and there was a line and a full store, but the staff was still very friendly and treated each customer very well. read more

Ordered 3 drinks and a pizza. Here's the rundown: White Chocolate Mocha - Barely lukewarm and totally undrinkable. Chai Latte - Same issue. No heat, no flavor. Mocha Frappe - The consistency of water and overly sweet. No coffee taste--just sugar and disappointment. Pizza - Dough was raw. Not undercooked--floppy, wet, bite-into-slime raw. We spent nearly $40 on this. We don't live nearby, so coming back wasn't easy but the quality was so bad, we felt like we had no choice. When we returned, we were told we couldn't get a refund without a receipt (which we were never given). Their solution? Complimentary food. As if we'd want more of what we couldn't even eat or drink the first time! This wasn't a cash order, and we were back within the hour--should've been simple to locate in the system. Instead, the employee seemed reluctant to do the work. He ripped a long string of receipts (presumably meant for other customers) and tossed it aside before heading to the back. All the while making it seem like WE were the inconvenience. After some pushback and attitude, we were finally refunded $30 of the $37--and they definitely made a point to take the food back like we were trying to scam them. Service: 0/10 (real training needed) Drinks: 0/10 (no coffee flavor) Food: 0/10 (just -- ick) Not worth the drive, the money, or the hassle. There are too many decent spots to waste your time here. You could even just drive to another Caffè Nero but consumer beware at this one. read more

I went in for an ice coffee on the way home from work. They have plenty of seating. It is counter service so I had no problem getting help. They have parking in front of the store with an accompanying public lot so parking is not a problem. The seating area is lit mainly using the natural light front m the windows. If I needed a cup of coffee, I would return. read more

Tasty lattes and treats from this shop on Washington Street in charming Wellesley. We took everything to go. Really enjoyed their lattes - smooth and easy to drink - and the thick slice of moist banana bread which was surprisingly light. Others with us enjoyed the croissants. I love the cafe because it's so cute and nice to relax/study in. The fireplace is a nice touch and the seats are generally comfortable. In my experience, the baristas are always nice and the pastries are always tasty. I had to deduct 2 stars though because the expertise of a cafe should be coffee/drinks. The coffee needs fixing no matter what you get and is always bitter. I tried to order the sweetest coffee on the menu and it still tasted like bitter. Maybe lattes are supposed to be bitter, but even the frappe was extremely bitter. If they can work on their coffees and improve their taste, this would be a 5 stars cafe. read more

I ordered a refresher and it was light and tasty. Their coffee is very aesthetically pleasing and tasty as well. It's unbelievable that the manager (woman) is still employed. The ambiance, drinks, food, etc are all good but she is terrible. She rushes the line along like cattle, and while shouting at you to "give her your order" she makes mistakes, because she's doing too much for no reason. She literally hates her job and the most wild thing ever is that all the younger kids working there are SO NICE. And when she comes around, they go silent. We've seen her berate one of them in front of the line it was ludicrous. I wish I got her name (I will update if I do) but she needs to GO. read more

My family and I visited this location for coffee and food today. We ordered our usual custom drinks, which we've gotten at various Cafe Nero locations including this one (2nd visit here). Shockingly, the beverage total came to over $70+, which we've never experienced before. When we mentioned this to the baristas, Yogof and Jasper, and showed them our order history from other locations, they refused to charge us the price we've been regularly paying at other locations. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they threw the drinks away, wasting both time and product. No one should have to pay $9+ for a simple espresso drink! To make matters worse, our previous visit here was fine, with the manager of the branch charging us fairly for our order without any issues. The Wellesley Cafe Nero has to be the best coffee shop around. The cafe is clean, the vibe is relaxed, plenty of parking and seating, the food offerings are fresh and fully stocked, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The standout is the manager-Klodjaha. You can tell she is the force behind how well the cafe is run. Whether it's to stock items or cover for staff, she is always there to say hi to everyone and make sure it all runs smoothly. read more

I'll give zero star if I could. Disturbing experience. I ordered pick up order online, and have to wait in line to let the unfriendly staff know I'm picking up. They can't set up a pick up shelf to save people time. The worst part is, I ordered two chicken noodle soup and avocado toast, and when I got back home, they are substituted by tomato soup and coconut lentil soup, and a veggie futata?? None of these is something I would order ever. So basically I spend 40 dollars for nothing. Have to buy something else from other place. ok, so admittedly i do not drink coffee. but.. i do drink tea. i had a wonderfully steeped cup of black tea & pistachio muffin. i absolutely love the vibes inside this old train station. if i lived here.. i would definitely be a frequent flyer. perfect spot to meet up and enjoy some fresh baked goodies or sandwiches. and, if you want to bring your furry friend... you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. inside i really loved the classical music playing & the inviting seats everywhere. if your lucky like we were.. you'll sit by the fire in the cozy velvet chairs. the manager working was very kind. i wish he could talk a tad louder tho... i found myself feeling like i needed a hearing aid. my friend loved her coffee. and will be back before leaving. read more

This was my first time ordering from them, and I have to say the lentil soup is an absolute masterpiece.

I love this location of caffe Nero. Great croissants, good coffee and sone really amazing pastries. Of late, the only change has been in the service provided by one of the staff (I know who since I've been coming here for Years, but I wouldn't like to say it). She used to be friendly and pleasant. While I was here recently, the tone was rude and another customer after me got the same snap for the order. It wasn't busy, it was first thing in the morning and there's no need to drive away people who love the business just because of the service. I hope this changes stat. I used to own a small business and completely understand the pressure of it, however being polite and nice only improves the day and the business. Will keep coming till I possibly can. read more

I received the worst customer service from the female server behind the counter this morning! I purchased a bag of coffee beans (my son's favorite) and waited patiently for my turn at checkout and requested the beans be freshly grounded. We purchased from this store regularly and they have always been happy to do that. However, that female server today refused to do so and went to the back and handed me a pre-grounded bag instead. She rudely argued that there were customers behind me with the "take it or leave it" attitude! For the time she went to the back to pick up another bag, she could have put the beans into their machine and got it done! This is totally unacceptable! read more

Cute exposed brick and vintage furniture make this a cozy spot to curl up with a book, meet a friend for some coffee, or getting some work done. Great Americano and Chai Latte. My only complaint is the size. My chai latte was only 3/4 of the way full. Only 4 sips and my dreamy $5.25 drink was gone :-( read more

The layout is cumbersome, but most importantly, I was appalled at the customer experience, particularly with woman who seems to be "in charge." She was horrible. Without ever cracking a smile, she was impatient, unhelpful and rude. She yelled at me from the end of line as I was checking out the sandwiches in the front of the line to come to her and make an order. This was when no one else was in line! I live one mile from Nero's and would love to have a place that I would enjoy going to. But, alas after several tries, this place has bad karma. Life is too short. I won't be going back. read more

I love this location, it's so cozy and located right at the Wellesley Hills commuter rail station. It's so homey and such a great study spot (if you can find a seat!) and the staff is always so kind. A wonderful spot to come for a steaming hot cup of coffee or a latte and a bite to eat. I chose the Honey Cinnamon Chai latte and inhaled it! The Wellesley Nero is my go-to study spot. I always order lattes and they are fantastic. Particularly the ones in Wellesley are absolutely flawless. They're so kind and attentive to whatever you need. I don't need to talk too much about the food because it's about the same as other Neros, but if you have been to one, you know it's delicious - like Starbucks but 100x better. The atmosphere is fantastic and there are plenty of places to sit and study or just relax. I love this cafe and am a regular there during exam season!!!!!! read more

I have been to many gormet coffee shops and this is the real thing. If you like high end coffee and pastries shipped from Europe you will savor the delicious taste of their croissants. This is no Peets or Starbucks with their burnt coffee. This is no proletariat Dunkin Donuts. This is for foodies who can taste nuance in the texture of a flourless chocolate cake. It is very Hipsterish. This will be a feature for some and a bug for others. Books adorn the brickwork atop of the front serving area. Personally I find that the fetishising of the asthetic that defines the classic physical book over the knowledge that would appear in it personifies the empty vassitudes of Hipsters and their ilk. The unfinished brickwork and log cabin style wooden beams hark back to "simpler days" when technology and modernity were yet to imbibe our lives - and yet they romanticize a vicious past full of poverty, disease, inequality, and suffering. Spare me another wave of nineteenth century romanticism and let forth a twenty-first century enlightenment. Unfortunately such delights as the paring of the rational with the great tasting coffee is not yet possible. So I content myself to the sublime taste of sandwiches that compare to Flour Bakery in Boston. I comfort myself with the comfortable yet gauche armchair with it exquisite cushioning for my delicate derriere. You will find many working beaverishly on their laptops and studying from their textbooks oblivious to the contradiction between their personal embrace of our postmodern society while worshipping the historic. And yet they are of a friendly ilk who will be polite and quite Unbonstonian in their sensitivity - characteristic of a small college town. Those working at the front carry smiles and courtesy on their person and are a pleasure with whom to interact. I pray that the words of Friar Laurence to Romeo not apply here - "These violent delights have violent ends. And in their triumph die, like fire and powder". I like all kinds of iced tea and my only requirement is that it is flavorful and not watered down. Always love Nero. This location is right next to the MBTA train station in Wellesley Hills. Wood interior and earthy tones makes it very cozy. Also a lot of antique-looking furnitures really class up the place. Coffee is good and strong, just how I like it. Ice latte is my favorite. Cold brew is also super delicious. Their pastries really are on the next level. They are freshly baked everyday, and you cant beat that. There is little to eat that's vegetarian and gluten free. I paid $8 for a tiny Mediterranean platter of which I could only eat half (because of gluten). It's charming inside but really overpriced and crowded. Not a fan. read more

I get a decent coffee here about half the time. Sometimes it's a delicious mocha and sometimes it's flavorless espresso with a vague hint of chocolate. I usually stop in before catching the train to work since they are at the station, but I frequently end up trashing it once I get to work and grab Dunkin or Starbucks. They are understaffed so plan to wait, and except for one or two baristas in the afternoon staff are rude. The most frustrating thing is every time in the last couple of months I have placed an order online, they don't start it until they see me arrive and ask what I'm waiting for. I order online ahead of time so I can grab it and go catch the train to work, but they have cut it close several times. I have waited up to 25 minutes for an online order. Not going to bother coming here anymore, there are better places locally to get coffee. read more

I love this place. Caffe Nero has been bustling since it landed in the old train station site, and for good reason. To start with, the ambiance is lovely: there's a mixture of booths, arm chairs, and tables; big groups will likely have trouble finding space together during busy times. Outlets are fairly plentiful, and WiFi is fast. [Also, unlike the place across the street, the WiFi doesn't time out after 1 hour of use.] Of course, I try to buy something every hour or so if I'm there for a while. The bakery items are also very good, including the cakes, muffins, and croissants. The panini are also good (I've had a chicken pesto, a mozzarella, and the fig & brie; fig & brie is my favorite but all were tasty). Staff members are generally pretty friendly. I've never had an issue with parking, but here are a few tips: -There are a few spots right at the front of the store (in the private lot) that are (I think) short-term parking. It's a tight fit, so I like to avoid this if possible. -There are 2 30-minute spots in the commuter lot (adjacent to Nero) that are often free if you're just picking up something to go. -You can park in the commuter lot itself, but it costs $3. -Street parking is usually plentiful, on both sides of the street ($0.25/half hour, IIRC). BUT, BEWARE: read the signs...some of the parking lanes turn into driving lanes during rush hour (7-9am, 4-6pm)...make sure you look before you park! read more

Coffee is just so-so, but the people that work here in the morning are very crabby, unhelpful, and overall unpleasant. Time to find a new morning coffee routine I guess! It's open early (when it opens on time), which is the best thing I can say about the store. Oh, and it is very spacious and welcoming inside. I've been a fan of the Caffe Nero chain but I enjoy this one in particular because of the quality of the coffee, food, and service. There's a pretty decent amount of seating but it does get busy, especially during the academic year when all the college students are back. But nonetheless, I haven't had much trouble finding seating. I also like the outdoor seating for my pup. The staff are super friendly and attentive. They've always made the drinks really well and are happy to make sure they've made it right. I've only had positive experiences coming here, so I know I'll be back! read more

Caffè Nero is a fan favorite among local Babson and Wellesley College students, with super-convenient location next to the Wellesley Commuter Rail and just a 15-minute walk from Babson. There's a decent amount of seating and access to outlets, and there's a 3-hour cap on the WiFi. The seating is a bit odd and awkward at times; there are small clumps of large, kitschy chairs, and not enough seats in some areas. Having been to Caffè Neros in Europe, I'm happy to see Caffè Nero find its roots in Wellesley. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and it's easy to become a regular! Bottom line: great coffee shop in Wellesley to work in, WiFi, outlets. read more

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.....the local competition seems to have knocked this little gem off its axis. Instead of rising to the occasion with blinding service and awesome coffee and food, they are sliding into a dangerous zone. It is in a dynamic space, with a wonderful real fireplace that should pack the crowds, but we were in there late Sunday morning, and it was sad to see....there were just a handful of late morning coffee drinkers, but worse, was the state of the place. The food on display, was dried out, the ham and the cheese on the croissants and sandwiches were curling. Worse the place was visibly dirty, with cups and plates stacked up to the brim of the plastic basin at the sugar and cream station, and a total sense of apathy from the three staff members. The coffee was cold, and if Nero doesn't jump on this....it will slide into obscurity, be abandoned by the loyal locals, and they will limp along until they jump into action or management will simply close the doors read more
