The selection is yummy! Pretty much any kind of bagel with toppings is yummy in any case.

We recently moved to the Waltham area and have been on the hunt for the best spot to get an Italian…read moreSub delivered! After pouring through reviews and local forums, people consistently mentioned D'Agostino's. I decided to give it a try. Everyone was right: It is a great sandwich! I ordered the small, traditional Italian sub. I ordered mine with easy oil/vinegar, tomatoes, hots, lettuce, and mayo. I'm not a fan of raw onions whatsoever. The sub arrived perfectly, fresh not soggy. The sub roll is super soft, yet somehow holds up to the vegetables and condiments! The bread is freshly baked and some of the best bread I've had from a sub spot! The sub was piled generously, yet sliced perfectly thin for a more "airy" bite. This is exactly how I like my sandwich. I am not a fan where it's like biting into a giant, thick slab of meat. Here, the meat is sliced thin and arranged in such a way that every bite is "airy". True sub fabs will know exactly what this means. The closest example to this is the chain, Jersey Mikes. The meats were sliced thin. Arranged perfectly on that pillow-soft sub roll. Veggies were great, fresh and crisp. Juicy tomatoes. Delicious hots that truly make the sandwich! This is our new go-to for subs in Waltham. Next time, I'll try to be more adventurous given they have a plethora of specialty subs. Sometimes, you just crave a solid, OG Original Italian Sub!

Upon entry I noticed a ton of Pizzi Farm dressings, rubs, seasonings and other farm packed items (peaches, pickles, ketchups to name a few). Deitz & Watson meat is the choice at the deli.....I had a roast beef panini, which was excellent. Bread was fresh...left on the grill for just the right amount of time and a perfect temperature on my first bite. 12.99 for the sandwich is kind of high but that is the market at any of the great deli's around (D'Agostino's, Bob's, Augusta's, Alpine) I am sure this place is very crowded at lunch and after dinner with their ice cream stand, which seems like a big part of the operation. The staff was very nice....young man who made my sandwich and girl who was at the register were both easy going and welcoming. I gave it 4 stars. Not quite near the top places but a decent stop and a place I would revisit in a pinch. Location is easy to get to, off of 128, makes it attractive, as well.

** Updating previous review with more tapas rankings **…read more Yuca Frita (9.5/10): These are so freaking delicious, wow. The cilantro aioli was an amazing dipping sauce. They really are fried to perfection. Frituras de Maiz: (10/10): Wow, these fritters are also amazing. They come with such a rich sauce. The fritters are exploding with flavor. Cazuela de Coliflor Asada (9/10): Insanely good dish. The cauliflower has perfect texture, complemented by the pistachios. The sauce is SO good. The cauliflower soaks it up so well. Chicharrones (9/10): Melt in your mouth pork belly. The pork skin crust was perfect. The sauces really make most of the dishes here. This dish is no different - I loved the sauce. Ropa Vieja (9/10): Perfectly slow cooked meat. One thing that really stood out to me was actually the white rice. The rice was VERY high quality, and I appreciated it so much. It's rare to come by rice this good. It had the perfect texture, chew, and fragrance. Ropa Vieja de Hongos (9/10): Pretty much the same as Ropa Vieja above. The mushrooms are delicious, and the dish is just as good whether your order the mushroom or steak version. Empanada del Carne (9/10): Oh man, the crusts are so good. This is pretty on par with the ones I just had in Puerto Rico. Chuletas de Cordero (8/10): The seasoning is heavenly. I was licking the lamb chops clean. Croquetas (8/10): Very solid croquetas. Wouldn't say it's a must-order, but you can't go wrong with them. Costillas a la Guayaba (6/10): The first time I had this it was really nicely marinated, and the rib meat is so tender that it almost falls off the bone. The second time, the meat was dry. Maduros con Tocino (6.5/10): This dish was pretty good, but got overshadowed by the other ones. Pulpo (6.5/10): Octopus was tender and savory. The potatoes were too salty. Camarones a la Plancha (6.5/10): Solid dish, but I enjoyed some other ones even more. Ensalada de Aguacate y Pina (6/10): The salad was a bit too sour, and that sourness overpowered the dish. It was a great blend of ingredients, though. *** and one dessert *** Churros con Chocolate (8.5/10): Big crunchy fluffy churros!! The chocolate sauce is amazing (not really spicy at all). You have to get this for dessert!!
