I have to give an honest review !! I love this place but some of the menu items in terms of food…read moreare a hit or miss. Been here 3 times since first visiting in Early March of this year. I ordered food all three times and each time the taste seemed to have improved. The first time I got the Caprese and it was very dry. It literally had three ingredients in it, I think the cheese just was too cold and didn't do it for me while on the contrary, the sourdough bread was very burnt and the entire sandwich was just very dry and disappointing. If you want a good safe option, the short rib melt Is really good. The drinks at the bar are also really good. I will also note the ambiance is amazing, I love the way they decorated everything and I feel like it's really fitting for such a historical place, everything seemed very niche and clean which I admired. I will say the service from Lauren Stone was amazing. She was great, she was very kind and held conversation with myself and my boyfriend and recommended and made some really good drinks. The service is really what tops the overall experience. If someone is very genuine and upfront, there's not much that they can't come back from. There's lots of redeeming qualities in a restaurant through people that have humility and really seem to care in my book so I will say this place is honestly a must try.

(4.25) O'Brien's is the kind of classic deli every city…read moreshould have. It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

I came here for the first time for lunch. I never went to it before when it was a poke-only place,…read moreso I was interested to try the new place out. They had more on the menu than I expected, from smash burgers, to buttermilk fried chicken to, obviously, poke bowls. I built my own bowl, and was very happy with the result. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. My only small gripe was that I could tell the pineapple was not fresh and obviously canned. The jalapenos were fresh sliced and added a bit of heat, which is perfect. I feel like this is one of those places I could come back multiple times and get different combinations of things in the menu.

It began as a poke bowl place but has since added everything from rice and noodle bowls to burgers and hot dogs to sandwiches and wings. It hasn't gone full Cowfish (yet), but trying to offer so much is a risky proposition. And yet, if my visit was anything to go by, the eclecticism didn't come at the cost of execution. I popped in shortly before noon on a Saturday to find the restaurant mostly empty (though patrons were pouring in when I was ready to leave). It's definitely a casual space - counter service with disposable bowls - albeit more colorful - and a decent bit costlier -- than a fast food joint. I was nearly set on building my own poke bowl when I spotted a cold noodle section of the menu. Peanut salad noodles with shrimp sounded too good to pass up. My food came quickly, and it hit the spot. The peanut sauce had a spicy kick, the cabbage and peanuts offered a satisfying crunch, and the shrimp were cooked well. I had lowered my expectations based on the atmosphere, but I shouldn't have: this dish would have held up at a more upscale place. With so expansive a menu, I don't know if That Place in the West End can keep up the quality across the board, but I would gladly return to this place for more noodles. Or a poke bowl. Or a burger. Or fried chicken. Or...
