This is hands down one of the best bagel spots in the triad. I have been coming here for years and the quality and service is consistently good each and every time. The staff is pretty friendly here even if it's busy. They have a pretty good variety of bagels to choose from so I think most people would find something to their liking. Sometimes the popular bagel flavors sell out if you come later in the day. It seems like weekend mornings are their busiest time so there may be a short wait at those times. My go to order is a sausage egg and cheese bagel. The egg everything bagel, jalapeño cheddar, and Asiago are my favorites. They always taste fresh and have the perfect bagel texture. The cream cheeses are all delicious as well. You can tell that these are house made and not prepackaged. They taste fresh and flavorful. My new favorite bagel joint in Greensboro. Tried most bagel spots in the area now, and this one knocks it out of the park. I've been to NYC numerous times over the years, and always make sure I hit up an authentic NY bagel joint. Not kidding, New Garden Bagel could easily be one of those spots. They make the perfect NY style bagel, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, absolutely delicious all over. We had a jalapeño cheddar, everything and sesame bagel. All 3 were the perfect NY style I've grown to love. We asked for the sesame with the jalapeño spread which was super tasty. We also got a tub of the bacon scallion spread, thinking we'd take some home. It was so good we gobbled it up with the 2 other bagels right there in one sitting. Small and cozy inside with super friendly staff. They have sandwiches, breakfast, lunch, coffees galore, both sweet and savory spreads, and most importantly...Dr. Brown's sodas. Can't find that at many places around here. If we want a true NY style bagel, this is our go to spot from here on out. I've been coming here for years along with most of Greensboro. Sometimes there's a small line but it moves quickly and you can't be mad at it since these bagels are arguably some of the best in town. The selection of bagels is overwhelming, but I'm a good way. Staff is friendly, and quick to get order turned out. Obviously this is the place to be. We walked in at the right time, because moments after entering at 10am on a Sunday, the line was out of the door. The smell of the bagels will pull you in and get you interested in the menu really quickly. Unfortunately, my goal for the day was to just grab a coffee. I will be partaking in the bagels in my next visit. I already have a plan to visit next weekend. I really can't wait. The staff seemed friendly and they were kicking butt to get the orders out. For some reason I think I am an expert on bagels because I'm Jewish! Lol Maybe it's also because I was raised eating hot bagels right out of the oven in the Bronx for all the young years of my life. I was eating bagels before they crossed over into the non-Jewish community. Who knew back in the 60's what a bagel was unless you were Jewish. and then suddenly bagels exploded and it became the craze all over the world. As a young child, I remember walking up Allerton Avenue to the bagel store. What an amazing smell. In those days they did not offer 5,000 varieties of bagels. I think you were able to get plain, poppy seed, sesame seed and salt. Years later they crossed over to a cinnamon raisin bagel. There were a couple of cream cheese options and that was about it . Today, there are 5 million bagel options from savory to sweet. Personally, I never cared for sweet bagels. I like the traditional or even better, the everything bagel!! I just love all those seeds s and salt and a variety of tastes. Nancy invited me to meet for a bagel on Saturday at New Garden Bagel right off of Bryan Boulevard. I had never been there but had heard good things about it so I decided it would be great to not only see her, but check out this new place. New Garden Bagels is easy to find with plenty of parking right in front. The outside signage was minimal but people know where it is! The place was not particularly large, but I was able to find a table and saw a long line of people to get takeout. As crowded as it was, it seemed there was a place for everyone to sit if desired. Obviously this place is hopping; especially on a Saturday morning. They had plenty of breakfast options and many, many types of cream cheese spreads but my eyes were focused on my waistline and those whole wheat everything bagels were calling to me from the counter display. What was calling to me just as much was their nice variety of Dr. Brown sodas ( I was very impressed ), so it did not take me long to zero in on those two items for a delicious snack. I love a bagel plain, especially when it is a fresh bagel with a nice savory taste. I really don't need all the other stuff. That along with my Dr. Brown diet cream soda and my wonderful company, made me as happy as a Jewish clam! Service was brisk, place was fine and this place is as good as any if you want a fresh bagel. It is no frills, It's not Allerton Avenue and it's not being purchased with my Grandma holding my hand, but it'll definitely do just great for now! read more

Favorite bagel shop in town! It's really hard to top NGB in a lot of ways. Pro tip: order early, they often run completely out of bagels by the afternoon, which just speaks to how popular and delicious this place is! First and foremost, the online ordering process is so simple and convenient (also on third party delivery apps but specifically I'm talking directly through their website!). Next, all the bagel and bagel sandwich options plus cream cheese and sides. The prices are competitive and a great bang for your buck. Conveniently located in a popular shopping center with easy parking. Now the good stuff! The bagels are so tasty! I recently traveled to NYC and I'll be completely honest, these knock those out of the park in my very humble opinion. I typically order the Hungry Man or BEC bagel sandwiches with American cheese + jalapeño cream cheese on Cinnamon Sugar bagel. One of the only places in town to get a Cinnamon Sugar bagel! Other favorites are the Sausage egg & cheese on sesame, tomato basil, or everything plus American and plain cream cheese. My absolutely favorite item, though, is the bagel dog! YUM! Very different than anything I've ever had around town. Have to try this. The everything seasoning is chef's kiss. I'm still trying to perfect the best dipping sauce for such a creation, but will report back/welcome all recommendations. I also want to try a lunch sandwich ASAP (Boar's head deli meats represent!). Lovely visit this morning at New Garden Bagels! Although the small cafe was packed on a Saturday morning, they took great care of every patron! My mom ordered the cranberry orange bagel with cranberry orange cream cheese and we ended up splitting it. It was delightful! The bagel itself had that nice spring and doughiness that you want from a good bagel and the bagel and cream cheese were loaded with cranberries. So amazing and perfectly balanced with sweet and tart. We took a variety of bagels home with us and I can't wait to try them! Next time, I'll have to try a coffee or latte too! Last time I was in I online-ordered a caramel latte and arrived just in time to hear the barista complaining to a DoorDash driver than coffee orders always gum up the works. If it's really that much of a problem, then just take coffee off the menu. (And if it isn't then don't say stuff like that out loud!) The first thing I noticed was an EGG EVERYTHING BAGEL: they also have 'normal' everything and a sourdough everything, but I couldn't see past the egg everything. 1 egg everything - the yeast flavor is slightly toned down and you get a little bump of 'egg' flavor with scallion cream cheese (light on the cream cheese, I can't do these mega bites!) capers and tomato. The everything seasoning here is incredible: what makes it better than other places is the nice bump of salt. It really brings out the other parts of the everything seasoning. Cream cheese is delicious: definitely well flavored with scallions and fresh. The bagel texture is chewy and BIG-very close to an NYC bagel. Biggest difference is the chew that I can't fully explain because of the water (trust this). All in all, imo one of the best bagels in the Triad. Well my heart was happy when I saw this bagel place as I was coming to this area for a completely different reason. Immediately walked inside and was happy to see so many different bagels, varieties of cream cheese and they even make sandwiches! They had a plethora of cookies. My sister ordered a cinnamon sugar bagel with butter and cream cheese. Her and my little one enjoyed that bagel. I am a plain Jane and eventually chose a plain cream cheese bagel with butter and cream cheese but I'll be back to try so much more. I've been to New Garden Bagel on two occasions now, and have had great experiences! My go-to order is a chicken salad bagel, and I have never found one that could beat Bodo's Bagels in Charlottesville VA. Unfortunately New Garden bagel did not either, but it was still quite a tasty meal! I've ordered a chicken salad bagel with potato salad, as well as a tuna salad bagel with home fries. Both of the bagels and the salads were very delicious, although I wish the proportion of salad to bagel with a little greater. It also be nice to have a little more of the side item. I also have tried their bagel crisps, which are such a tasty snack and we ate them all within one weekend! We've even tried to recreate them lol. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. You can tell that they are happy to serve you and to help answer any questions! The storefront is quite small and there are a couple tables inside, but definitely more of a grab and go place! A bagel craving in our house means "half dozen". A new bagel place is coming to Oak Ridge but they aren't open yet. We went to New Garden Bagel and found out they are also the owners of the Oak Ridge location. They hope to open in March. The other customers were very friendly and told us their favorites. We ended up with 3 Asiago, 1 Plain, 1 Cinnamon Sugar and 1 Chocolate Chip. We also bought their homemade cream cheese. They had lots of flavors but we stuck with plain.
