We loved Archie's Wok! The air conditioned dining room was full but it was evening and really…read morewasn't THAT hot so we were fine sitting in a back porch area they called the garden, which is technically outside but felt more like a charming indoor space but with an open ceiling. I ordered off of the restaurant week menu while my SO opted to order off of the regular one. He started with the calamari, which was quite good. Nice and light breading and not overcooked. We sampled the papaya salad (one of the best I've ever tasted), coconut fried rice with yellow curry, drunken noodles with shrimp and mango sticky rice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and I'm glad I did it here because Mexico has such excellent mangos. It was fantastic and is now a new favorite. The curry rice was also delicious but for me, was a lot of food, which is not a bad thing. A great value actually since I got three meals out of it! They also serve margaritas by the pitcher, which is literally illegal in the ridiculous state we are from so we were very excited at this option. The full pitcher was a bit much for 2 but my friends, not to worry! They do a half pitcher!!! Our server was so nice and did a great job. Food came out very quickly as well. We had a great time at Archie's Wok and it has been added to our list of musts when in PV.

I ordered take out since the wife wanted to stay in. Pork egg rolls, Mongolian curry beef, almond chicken and fried rice. I had a lemonade while I was waiting. Everything was packaged well (lids taped on, sauce servings with lids, wrapped in cling film. The food was tasty. While I was not much more than 5 minutes back to the hotel, the egg rolls were soggy. The sweet and sour sauce for them was very good, great flavor and not overly thick. I asked for the curry to be hot, but not too hot, it was pretty mild. Definitely worth giving it a shot when you're looking to switch things up. Like most of PV, it was good and it was spendy (about 1,400 MXD for 2 mains, combination fried rice and 3 pork egg rolls + 1 lemonade).

Archie's Wok - Lots of fans, an A/C in the ceiling I suppose for the hot days

We arrived with a reservation and asked to sit on the terrace within the same restaurant. Staff accommodated us without any mention that this would result in a full charge for the original reservation. We then paid again for the dinner we actually had. Only afterward did we discover we had been billed for both--despite receiving just one meal. This was never disclosed - and could easily have been shared by the manager that seated us. Had it been, we would have made a different decision. Charging guests under these circumstances reflects a serious lack of transparency. Even more concerning is the response: management has relied on fine-print policy rather than addressing the obvious breakdown in service. Bottom line: We paid for dinner twice--the restaurant was paid twice. That is simply not acceptable. We hope someone in leadership reviews this situation and reaches out to resolve it appropriately.
